Bible Question: I know god was the creator of heavens and the earth. I guest my question is where did he come from or how did he come about existing? |
Bible Answer: Hey K.., Welcome to the forum. The Bible declares that God is eternal. Psalms 90:1-2 (NASB95) 90:1 Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. Genesis 21:33 (NASB95) 21:33 Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God. Romans 16:25-27 (NASB95) 16:25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, 26 but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith; 27 to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen. He did not "come from" anywhere. He was not made or formed. He did not come to exist. He has always existed. He will always exist. He has no beginning and no end. He is the eternal one. That's why He is God. If something else made Him, that something else would be greater than He and would, therefore, be God. I realize this is a hard thing to wrap our minds around. It's not something we can truly grasp. Revelation 1:8 (NASB95) 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." God bless, Jeff |
