Subject: How old is the earth scripturally? |
Bible Note: Hi Daninjapan, It seems we are back to the central basis for some different interpretation of and reasoning from scripture, the question of whether God did what He said He did, create the heavens and the earth in six days. If we believe He did everything else that He said He did in Genesis, then accepting a six day creation and the following length of lifespans would give us the age of the earth less the time Adam was living the "good" life in Eden for which the Bible does not say. If God misled us in His creation account, then who is to say He does not mislead us in other areas of His word (Rom 3:4 May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar...). Dan, please consider taking God for His word and not relying upon old earth creationists or gap theory proponents to guide your understanding (1 Cor 3:18-20, 18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, "He is THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR CRAFTINESS"; 20 and again, "THE LORD KNOWS THE REASONINGS of the wise, THAT THEY ARE USELESS."). The God of creation loves you very much and I have grown in brotherly love for you also. If I am in error, may the Holy Spirit convict with the word of God, and I hope you feel the same. Your Brother in Christ, Phillip . |
