Bible Note: Hello to everyone responding to this posting. I have gotten a lot of answers, most of them dealing with how or why there is suffering. That is not my question. I pretty much understand why there is suffering in the world and how to deal with it. My question is why did God create the world in the first place. If the standard answer (the one I get from books and those that I have asked) is right, because God wanted a people to worship Him from a willing heart, would that mean God had needs, and therefore not perfect? I mean the angels worship Him willing, some choose not to and followed Lucifer in the fall. If He created the world to show His mercy and grace, wouldn't that show a need in Him again, making Him less than perfect? These are just examples, and there may not be an answer to my question this side of heaven. It is something I thought about for a while and thought maybe someone else had to and could help me. Whatever the answer, it does not change the fact that God loves us and gave His Son so we can live in Him. And it does not change the fact that in Him, we can overcome the works of Satan in our lives. Thank you all for you answers and thoughts. later...wdc |
