Bible Question (short): Whose are you? |
Question (full): Hi Jeff, I have a question before you put an end to the discussion. I know that you, like Paul, wonder which would be best; to be in heaven or to stay here and witness for your Lord. Whichever is God's will, we are not our own. We are God's possession for Him to do with as He wants; it is not up to us. I was looking at "God's own possesion" today. Whose are you? In who's image are you? Ephesians 1:14, "who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God/'s own possession, to the praise of His glory. For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord (Jesus) which exists among you, and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers;..." 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God/'s own posssession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were a people, but now you are a people of (God); you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." Titus 2:11-14, "For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God/ and Savior, Christ (Jesus); who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds." Genesis 1:27, "And God created man in His own image, in the image of God/ He created him; male and female He created them. And (God) blessed them;..." Jeff, I don't accept your (.).
