Bible Question (short): David's sin forgiven when? |
Question (full): In studying the doctrine of God's imputation of righteousness to those who believe , I consulted Adam Clarke's Commentary on 2 Samuel 12:13. However, Clarkes' comments on this verse seem to contradict the apostle Paul's reference to Ps. 32: 1,2 in Romans 4:6,7? It seems to me that Paul is trying to prove that one is forgiven by faith , by using David's confession and immediate forgiveness of his sin with Bathsheba.( Paul refers to Ps. 32, and Ps. 32 refers to 2 Sam. 12:13) Yet, Clarke says that David's sin was NOT forgiven when he said "I have sinned against the Lord" and Nathan replied, " The Lord hath also put away thy sin." I always thought that David's confession In 2 Sam. 12:13 was when he was forgiven? Kept by Him, Shawn Lam. 3:22-23 |
