Bible Question (short): Mat 21:12 Arrogance or what? on J' part |
Question (full): My son-in-law is assistant pastor at a local storefront church. THe pastor often displays much arrogance in confronting parishioners about what he considers disrespect of himself. When discussing the situation with my son-in-law, he seems so taken by his pastor that he (the pastor) can do no wrong. In discussing his arrogance and public humiliation he puts his members through, and my speaking of the humility and humbleness of the Jesus, my son-in-law makes reference to Matthew 21:12 saying "Jesus got angry and turned the tables at the temple," as if to say that Jesus was displaying arrogance when he did that; and that his pastor was no different. I need to have anunderstanding of that scripture as well. My son-in-law is such an impressionable young man and I would really like to have something substantive under my belt for our next discussion. |
