Bible Question (short): Why effects of forgiven sins? |
Question (full): When we accept God's gift of salvation through faith in the death, burial and ressurection of Jesus Christ, God's son, our sins are forgiven. Our sins are blotted out. Our sins are cast as far as the east is from the west. Though our sins were scarlet, we are made white as snow. All our sins, past, present and future are covered by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. This is all true, yes? Then the question I have is why are there still effects of our sins? Such as God still disciplines us. We quench the power of the Holy Spirit. Our sins still have repercussions. Anyone have any thoughts on this? |
