Bible Question (short): I'mnotmarriedcanihavesexandnotsin? |
Question (full): Proverbs 6:30 says "men do not despise a thief who steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry" in reference to adultery (Stealing someone's wife, I guess). It seems to me God is acknowledging sexual desire, here compared to hunger; I sense the same sort of leeway granted as when Paul says it is better not to marry, but better to marry than burn in lust. Does orthodoxy recognize any sex outside of marriage as unsinful? You never know, somebody might start shooting people or raping because of frustration. Isn't it better to be in a committed relationship and satisfy natural urges? Is it really so wrong? |
