Bible Question (short): Jews at the Wailing Wall of Jerusalem |
Question (full): I've been watching some news articles and every once in a while, catch some passing photos and video depicting Jews praying at the famous Wailing Wall of Jerusalem. I realize the name comes from all the grief meted out to the Jews over the centuries with emphasis to their loss as a nation in the first century. Now my question about their body motions there at the wall. Why is it when these Jews pray or read from their scriptures, they rock their heads or their upper torso back and forth? It's always been kinda curious to me but I'm just now remembering to ask those of you that might know. Please enlighten me. Thanks and blessings to you all. Country Girl |
