881 | Can fallen spirit filled saints repent? | 1 John 5:13 | CDBJ | 41271
You ask,can a spirit filled believer repent. My understanding is that if they are Spirit filled, capital S, they have already used I John 1:9 and don't need to repent. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When this is done God is back in control of our lives. i.e. we are filled. We can lose this filling by grieving, or quenching the Spirit; the direct result of sin or the old sin nature controlling our lives instead of God. Ephes. 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 1 Thes. 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. God promises us that he will never leave us or forsake us. Hebrews 13:5 B I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. God is always in the believer but not always in control. Thus when God is put back in control, by the believer confessing all known sin, the believer is automatically filled by the spirit. A believer can do nothing that is pleasing to God when that believer is operating under the power of the flesh or the old sin nature, that is why Jesus said that we must abide in him. Every thing that a believer does that will count for anything must be done in the power of the Spirit. The filling of the Spirit is an absolute, you are either 100 percent filled with the Spirit or your old sin nature is in control, it is one or the other; not a little bit of both. Either God is controlling the believer's life or their old sin nature is. John 15:1-5 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. It doesn't pay to be out of fellowship too long. A believer should keep short account by the use of I John 1:9 |

882 | Are gays/lesbians bound for hell? | OT general | CDBJ | 41198
God's word says, John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The next thing that I would ask is, do you fully understand what it means to believe in God's Son? A lot of people don't really know what it means to BELIEVE. Paul says that there are some that are deluded in their thinking. 2 Cor. 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? There would be some who would rake you over the coals with Scripture, as it were, but truth be known we all have our little area of pet sins; everyone just likes to think that their brand is a little more refined then everyone else's; you are just more brave to mention yours. When we all come to Christ there are areas that the Lord likes to deal with. God's Word tells us that we are new creatures in Christ. 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. The best thing that I can tell you is to study God's Word as much as you can and pray that God will do what He wants to in your life. Give yourself totally over to the Lord and let Him shape you through his Word. If we try to clean up our own life it won't work no matter what the sins are in our lives; sooner later we will be right back where we started if it isn't the Lord doing the work. 2 Peter 2:17-22 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. 18For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. I pray the Lord will help you in your study as He has me, CDBJ Ephes. 3:14-21 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. |

883 | To heaven immediately aft death orwait? | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 41183
As soon as we leave these bodies we are with the Lord. 2 Cor. 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. The words (present with) are the Koine Greek words ENDEMSAI PROS. The fuller meaning from the Greek is (to be at home and face to face with the Lord) and it will be instantaneous. The trial that you mention for the believer has already happened and Jesus took our punishment. If your comment is in reference to the judgment seat of Christ, the Greek word in this case is BEMA seat. 2 Cor. 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. This is not a judgment of sin but for reward. It is the same as those who are in Olympic competition; the bad (KAKOS) the same as lacking, are not condemned they just don't receive the higher point rating for rewards. 1 Cor. 3:11-15 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Notice, NO SIN mentioned, that was taken care of in the foundation work. Happy Easter, CDBJ |

885 | Limited atonement | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 40687
I don't wan't to get into the subject of limited atonement again but let me try and explain something about being in Adam. Adam made a decision that got us all into the mess that we are in, having an old sin nature. Jesus fixed it so that we can change thing around again by making a decision that will put us back on track and in fellowship with God. Let me add that not making a decision to believe in Jesus is the same as rejecting God's plan and the alternative will not be very comfortable eternity to say the least. Jesus Christ is God's only provision for our old sin nature. Since God did all the work through his Son Jesus Christ all that is demanded of us is that we trust in and rely on what the Son did on the cross on our behalf and as a result God gives us a new nature. The problem is that once we personally believes in God's Son we have two natures; we are a new creation in Christ but we still have the old sin nature which causes a constant battle while we are still at home in these mortal bodies, Paul talked about this struggle in Romans. Romans 7:15-25 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. I know exactly what Paul was going through as I have the same problem. Have a great day in the Lord, CDBJ |

There has only been one child born without an old sin nature and that was Jesus the Christ the Son of God. All the rest are born of the seed of Adam and all of his offspring have his old sin nature. 1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. |

I go along with you 100 percent on this one. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: I think that some people must be ashamed of their position, or they have an ulterior motive in mind for being on the forum. 889 | Jesus is our Father, who is our Mother? | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 40487
The Sadducees seem to have had the same trouble with trying to understand a situation similar to your question. There is no need for a mother, the angels didn't have a mother because they are created beings the same as born again believers are at the point of trusting in Christ. 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. A mother is only needed for the production of physical life not spiritual life. Matthew 22:29-30 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. God didn't need the mothers to make angles the same way he doesn't need mothers for a new creature in Christ. There will be no procreation in heaven. Ephes. 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Sorry no mother status in heaven with due respect to all you wonderful moms out there! CDBJ |

890 | How was Jesus slain 'before' ? | 1 Pet 1:20 | CDBJ | 40497
Since the future is just as perspicuous to God as the past it is God's way, in words of accommodation, to let us know that he has everything all planed out and if people will just trust in his plan they will be winners right along with His Son. We are put in this position by faith in Jesus. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. He says the same thing about those that believe in his Son, with ref. to a time before the world existed. Ephes. 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: |

891 | TRUE DETAIL PICTURE OF JESUS ON CROSS | OT general | CDBJ | 40493
You won't find any, just for starters, that was the most horrid thing that Jesus ever had to do and the day that he did it was bad enough. Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. God doesn't want Jesus still on that cross in a place of shame; he has now exalted Christ to a place of honor and glory. Philip. 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Any image that might be made of Jesus is just exactly that, an image and God forbids it. Who knows, the one who makes the picture or image might have just made an exact copy of Lucifer or Satan, no one knows! John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. If you want a more graphic depiction of what Jesus Christ went through in his suffering on the cross the Original language of the Koine Greek spells it out better then the English. I hope his helps, CDBJ |

892 | Is the wedding feast symbloic or literal | John | CDBJ | 40323
In my estimation I think one shouldn't try to allegorize everything in Scripture. John pretty much covers the signs and miracles that Jesus did and the reason behind them. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. |

893 | EXPLAIN: DIFFERENCE: "GOD" FATHER" | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 40206
When Jesus said Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. He had not yet had the sins of the world poured out on him and he was still in fellowship with the Father. When Christ cried out Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? The Father had forsaken him because of my sins and yours and this was something that Jesus had never experienced before; it was absolutely horrid, the father son relationship was terminated and the real suffering started. Jesus was able to handle everything up to this point but when God rejected him, it was too much for him handle and he screamed out in agony. He did this for you and me, Happy Easter and thank you, thank you LORD!! CDBJ |

894 | Where is MOAB today? Isaiah 16 | Genesis | CDBJ | 40102
MO´ABITE, MO´ABITES (mo4´a-bi3t). Descendants of the elder of Lot's two surviving daughters, as the Ammonites are of the younger. The starting point of both was in the vicinity of Zoar. Thence the roving Ammonites went to the NE (see Ammonites), whereas the more peaceful Moabites remained near their ancestral home, displacing the Emim (Deut. 2:10-11; cf. Genesis 14:5). Territory. According to Smith (s.v. “Moab”), the territory of Moab at its greatest extent included three parts: (1) The “land of Moab” (Ruth 1:1-2), a tract enclosed by natural fortifications; on the N by the chasm of the Arnon, on the W by the cliffs that rise almost perpendicularly from the shore of the Dead Sea, on the S amd E by a semicircle of hills that opens only for the Arnon and another Dead Sea torrent. (2) The “land of Moab,” the more open country from the Arnon north to the hills of Gilead. (3) The so-called “plains of Moab” (Numbers 22:1), “the sunk” district in the tropical depths of the Jordan Valley. Before the arrival of Israel, Sihon, king of the Amorites, had taken from “the former king of Moab,” very possibly Zippor the father of Balak (Numbers 22:2), all the land “from the Arnon to the Jabbok” (Numbers 21:26). Thus Moab was penned up in the closely fenced “land of Moab” mentioned above (no. 1). Coming up from Egypt the Israelites approached Moab through the desert facing Moab, outside the bordering circle of hills on the SE. They were forbidden to molest the Moabites in the enjoyment of the land that they had taken from the Emim (Deut. 2:9-11). They therefore applied for permission to pass through the territory of Moab and, being refused, went around its borders. From (Ungers Bible Dictionary) |

895 | Abortion for medical reason ??????? | Ex 20:13 | CDBJ | 39764
There is a verse that you should consider which makes a lot of sense in your situation and that is to follow the sound mind principal. 2 Tim. 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. The Lord has blessed this nation with the best medical profession in the world. I think it would be wise and of sound mind to do as they suggest. I would thank the Lord for their advice and the fact that is so obvious a situation. This is my opinion and I wouldn't even think twice about it if it were my wife! I pry that the Lord will give you the same assurance in this situation. Much love in the Lord, CDBJ |

899 | Speaking in tongues...not saved? | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 36513
Nedra, the person that you say is so adamant about people speaking in tongues in order to be saved, could you please ask her where the opposite of the good news is in the Bible? The reason why I ask is because I go to a very large nondenominational church that has close to fifty people in it that can't speak a word of any language but they are real good at sign language, which is a continuous thing while our pastor is teaching from the Word. Maybe they should all be informed that Christ didn't die for them and that they can't be saved because they can't speak in tongues; or maybe Peter was wrong when he expressed himself in Acts. Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: I hope you know that I am being fatuous, but that's how ludicrous her thinking when it comes to tongues and salvation. I think that Paul explained it all very well in his letter to the Corinthians along with a summation for those that didn't believe what he said. 1 Cor. 14:36-38 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? 37If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 38But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. I hope this helps and you might say it to her with a little more love then thy way I wrote it out, since you will be talking to her face to face. There are times when my mouth speaks before my brain is in motion, CDBJ |
