861 | Pure joy in Heaven? | Rev 7:9 | prayon | 2176
Dear JVH0212: I apologise, I should of given a better reference. In your question of Feb 27th you asked the question about recognizing loved ones in heaven. It was the general concensus that according to 1Cor. 15:51-53 that we will recognize our loved ones in heaven. Considering this to be accurate I again pose the same question. Thanks |

862 | "Two witnesses." When? Who? | Rev 11:3 | prayon | 53285
Greetiongs stokeyhk, The 1260 days equals out to 3 1/2 years. These days have not come yet. This will happen in the middle of the 7 years of tribulation and believed to happen in the 1st half of the tribulation but could happen in the 2nd half. There are other events predicted for this time period, trouble (Dan 12:7), the holy city is trampled (11.2), the woman takes refuge in the wilderness (12:6), and the devil inspired beast controls the earth (13.5). The two witnesses are believed to be Elijah, because Malachi prophesied (4:5-6) that he would return before the last judgement, and Moses. Neither Moses nor Elijahs ministry on earth were finished. Both were at the transfiguration of Christ (Matt 17:3). They represent the law (Moses) and the prohets (Elijah). These prophets cause havoc on earth, like Moses they strike the earth with plagues, and like Elijah they have the power to keep it from raining on earth. Both men used supernatural means to provoke repentence. Jewish tradition expects both of these men to return in the future. Both of these men, at the end of the 3 1/2 years will be murdered and will lie in the street 3 1/2 days and then will be raised from the dead. prayon |

863 | explain Revelation chapter 12 | Rev 12:1 | prayon | 73052
Greetings Neal, Chapter 12 is a description of a war - first on earth and then in heaven then back on earth. The woman represents Israel. Being clothed with the sun speaks of the glory, dignity and exalted status of Israel. The picture of the moon under her feet possibly describes God's covenant relationship with Israel since new moons were associated with worship. The 12 stars represent the 12 tribes. The child of course is Christ. The crying out in pain portrays how Israel has agonized and suffered for centuries waiting for Jesus to come and destroy Satan. The red (represents bloodshed) dragon represents Satan. The mention of 10 and 7 refers to the 7 past worldly empires and the 10 future kingdoms Satan will rule until the 7th trumpet blows. The rod of iron in v. 5 represents the coronation as King over the nations of the world. Caught up to God refers to His assension which is proof of Satan's failure. The 1262 days equals 42 months or 1/2 of the tribulation. V. 14 talks of the woman being given 2 wings of a great eagle. These are not literal wings but instead a depiction of God's protection of Israel. In v. 16 it talks about a great army that will come against Israel like a flood but will be swallowed up in the earth, possible in the many earthquakes that occur during that period. Satan will turn his wrath against the rest of her offspring (the followers of Christ). Hope this helps. prayon |

864 | Are there Demons today? | Rev 18:2 | prayon | 52380
Greetings justme, I will do my best to answer some of your questions. The ones I don't maybe someone else can. Demons today are everywhere and very active still in hindering the message and salvation of Christ. When Christ cast the demons into the pigs in Matt 8:28 He only cast them out of two men. He did not cast out the demons of everyone. There were still many active demons in Jesus time as there is today. Many churches today do cast out demons, however some churches today do not even believe that hell is real. Why cast out what is not there. As in many other issues churches today deal with only topics that are agreeable to everyone. Many pastors do not want to step on anyone's toes, possibly because they are more interested in the money that person would donate rather than their eternal salvation or possibly because they do not want to offend anyone. If these pastors preached on demons they would have to identify them and step on peoples toes. Some churches only want to talk about the love of Christ and how wonderful He is - all the good things but none of the bad. There are many different reasons. As Christians today we need to realize that demons are more active now than ever before because they know that their time is growing short. When we meet a demon we need to pray and cast it out of where ever it is. We do this by the power that Christ gave us, (see Matt 9:8; Acts 1:8; 2Tim 1:7; Mark 16:17). To cast out a demon you simply command the demon in the name of Jesus Christ to leave where he is. He must leave at the name of Jesus Christ. I would like to caution you that if there are others present they need to pray also, and if there are children present they must be covered with prayer because when the demon comes out of the one you command him to leave he will be looking for a new home. Christ has given us the power to do these things and we are to do them in Jesus name. He has given us the power, (see Eph 6:10-17). Hope this helps - prayon |

865 | Other names of the "beast"? | Rev 19:20 | prayon | 7535
The beast is used metaphorically to represent the enemies of Isreal (Ps 74:19) The beast from the sea represents the Roman Empire (Rev 13:1), the beast from the earth (13:11) represents the leaders from the province of Asia, a beast from the abyss (11:7, 17:8) portrays the antichrist. Other names used are the dragon or Satan (12:3,9); serpent or snake (20:2-10). In other instances the beast is referred to as Rahab, the mythological beast that God killed in battle and thus made an orderly creation (Isa 51:9; Ps 89:10); Behemoth, a mighty mortal beast (Job 40:25) valued by God and celebrated for it's reproductive organs (v. 16); and the dragon(Rev:12-13; 16:13-14; 20:2-3,7-10). Rev 12:9 ties together the devil, Satan, and the seprent. Did I forget any? prayon |

866 | The thousand year reighn... | Rev 20:2 | prayon | 63784

867 | what books will be opened? | Rev 20:12 | prayon | 53524
Greetings Elice, One of the books that will be opened is the Book of Life. Every person who has ever been saved has their name written in the "Book of Life". If by the time he or she dies if they have not received God's forgiveness their name will be blotted out of the book. The names of the other books are unknown. One of them, however, will probably be the Book of Laws. God's written word is referred to as the "Book of the Law". Numerous verses tell us that anyone who has had exposure to God's word is responsible to live by it, and if he doesn't he will be condemned. Paul emphasizes this in Gal 3:10. Another book will probably be the "Book of Works". Each person is believed to have an angel who records all of their good works. Every bad deed and every good deed done for the wrong reason will be written also. Hope this helps. prayon |

869 | remembering those not in Heaven | Rev 21:4 | prayon | 109608
Greetings angelpenned, No, I don't believe we will. Rev 21:4 says that God will wipe away all tears from our eyes. And there will be no mourning, nor crying out, nor will there be any more pain. I base my answer on this verse. How could we have no mourning or tears if we know that one of our loved ones did not make it to heaven but ended up in the lake of fire? There is no way I would be mourne free if that happened. prayon |

870 | Spritual or Physical ? | Rev 21:8 | prayon | 24969
Greetings Toto! The second death they are referring to here is a spiritual death. After our physical death (the first death) we all will have to stand before God for our final judgement (Rev 20:11-15). The purpose of this final judgement is a confrontation between God and the unbeliever to clearly demonstrate why he is already condemned. This will be when the book of life is opened. Those who are listed in the above scripture will be thrown into the lake of fire and will then die spiritually. prayon

873 | Will unbelievers be raised from Sheol? | Rev 21:8 | prayon | 31740
Greetings, The way it was explained to me by someone is this was. If one never had the opportunity to be told of the one true God then God will judge them on their life. Whether they ever heard of the gospel or not they would still have a conscious. Did the person live by that conscious or were they a person without morals? Our God is a just God. He would not judge someone for not accepting Him if they had never had the opportunity to hear about Him. prayon

875 | Who knows? | Rev 21:27 | prayon | 7377
Hi Charis! You are so correct! We must disapline ourselves in everything we say and do "because like a roaring lion our advisary, the devil, prowls around looking for someone to devour" (1Pet 5:8). Let us consider also the lion. When coming upon prey the lion does not make a big commotion. He never announces to his prey that he is there. He stalks his prey silently. His prey never even knows he is there until he makes his swift attack. His victim rarely stands a chance. The out come can be different though. If we who are in the lions territory (in our case the world) would always be on the lookout, knowing that we, as Christians, are always the lions main target and that he is watching us constantly for his opportunity to devour us we would not see the dissensions that we see. He who has an ear, let him hear. |
