83 | Is Freedom ours Through Jesus Christ | Gen 1:1 | rferg | 56293
What kind of freedom are you looking for? We have the freedom to choose to receive Christ as our Saviour, and through baptism we are born again into newness of life (we have now been born of water and spirit though baptism). We are no longer under the penalty of death (eternally seperated from God) for breaking the law, which is Gods commandments. We are acknowledging that we are willing to practice obeying his Ten Commadments (law of love) which, brings peace and harmony to the world. There will be no sin in heaven, all will follow the spiritual law of love the "Ten Commandments". Thank God I have the freedom to choose to obey his instruction the Word of God and it will bring eternal life.
84 | Was John's Baptism One of Repentance? | Mark 1:4 | rferg | 56290
Yes, John's baptism is one of repentance. "Sin", is breaking the spiritual law of God the "Ten commandments." If you look at the Ten Commandments you will soon realize you have broken them, that means you along with every one else born into this world is a sinner. Baptism represents several things. When you repent (ask God to forgive you of your sins)you show your belief by baptism (you are confessing God before men), the water represents the grave, you die to the flesh and are reborn of the Spirit. You must be born again to enter the kingdom of God (read all of JOhn 3). Now you are under the faith of grace and can choose to practice obeying the Ten Commandments. |
