83 | what is the darkness | John 1:5 | joel k | 103549
hello ... the darkness is not something you really want to know about. Oh how I wish I still had the innocence to ask such a question. If I could, that would mean I don't know what the darkness is, and unfortunately, I do. Let me tell you a true story ... When Divinche painted the famous portrait of the last supper it took him 6 months to study his first subject (person) for the face of Jesus, which was the first person at the table he painted. To study the subjects for the disciples it took the standard 3-4 weeks each. But when it came to the last disciple, Judus, he could not find a subject that would satisfy his artistic eye for the one that would betray Christ. Then a friend offered a suggestion. He said "why not look in the prisions", so he did and there he found the subject he wanted. And again it took him 6 months to study the subject's face for the portrait. Divinche was forbiden to talk to the prisioner, but when he was done he ask the man only for his name, as he had done for the rest of the subjects he studied. Surprized, the man answered " don't you remember me?" " I am the man you studied for Jesus, just over two years ago". " don't you reccognize me?" This is an example of how much we are changed by the darkness, disfigured forever, for turning of God. joel k |

84 | can a person with reprobate mind be save | 1 Pet 2:15 | joel k | 103525
yes ... through repentance and an intimate relationship with the Truth (Jesus) anyone can be saved. For it is the will of God that all are saved through Christ, and none can be taken away from Him. If you need more, ... ask joel k

87 | khuck ... thanks for your answers .. | Gal 6:17 | joel k | 103517
also I forgot to add ... I have dealt with this for years but only 2 months ago did I ever even hear the word stigmata. A friend gave me the movie and said I should watch it, but after learning what the word means, I can't watch it. I don't understand about those people who self induce these marks, because I truely wish I didn't have to. I know the purpose is not for me ... so I try not to think about the reasons or the pain, for I know that I am guilty, I am a sinner. And just like Paul I have a constant struggle with sin, a thorn in my side. But there are many sins passed over because of the love of forgivness. Does this make any sense to you? Joel k |

88 | khuck ... thanks for your answers .. | Gal 6:17 | joel k | 103516
khuck... sorry that it has been days since you wrote to me and I have not replied sooner. It looks like you took a little heat about this subject for me. Sorry... In reply tp your questions... 1. I equate it to my life because... I also bear on my body the marks of Christ. 2. like I said ... confirmation of who I am in Christ. 3. the bennifits are clear to me... forgivness... forgivness... forgivness. You may find this harder to understand than you are willing to admit, but there are some people who's life is predestine by God, as a guilt offering, to bring forgivness of sin, through Christ Jesus. The perfect forgivness only comes from Heaven, through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, but to those that are living in the here and now. There are many things Paul wrote about that he would have had no way of knowing such things if it were not revealed to him, like his own predestination. The marks he had on his body were not new to him, but he had aquired them throughout his lifetime, but seeing that they are the marks of Christ, he could clearly see that God has always had him included in His plan to be who he is now. Paul understood that no one would refer to his days before the encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus as a part of his life that God had determined to be. Because as mankind we natually think of the first part of Paul's life as being ... well not in step with God. And if that were true ... then predestiny has no real meaning. remember this ... if you don't take offense, then there is no offense. You are welcome to ask me any further questions you may have. And if you'd like to do that elsewhere and not on this forum, let me know. Thank you ... Kathy ... Joel k |

91 | khuck ... thanks for your answers .. | Gal 6:17 | joel k | 103125
khuck ... thank you for your answers ... the reason I ask is because when I read this scripture Gal. 6:17 Paul touched me in a way that had been very personal up until then. When your most inwardly formed thoughts ... your feelings about yourself ... are found to be already written about ... thousands of years ago ... suddenly they are not so personal anymore. At 40 years old now, I see more clearly than ever how I (unknowingly) carried the cross since childhood, and even though I know how I got my scars (both physical and spiritual) I also know that they are a mimmic of Christ. I believe Paul had the same reflections in his life, almost like a confromation from God. I have had many spiritual events in my life, and I have seen so much you won't believe. But I have always recieved from the Word of God, by His Holy Spirit, comfort in scripture because they don't just speak to me, they speak about me in the way that they relate exactly to my life and sufferings. There are a fewpeople close to me that confirm to me that I'm not out of my head because they can see the relation too. There is a movie called stigmata and a web site. They talk about st. Frances being the first documented case of stigmata occurring without being self-induced mutilation of the body. |

to Hank ... thank you for your testimony. I bet insurance sales is much like car sales ... people already have a preconcieved notion about the salesman ... that he is a liar and out to get their money. What do you think about the fact that the manager broke a law? Shouldn't he be charged with wrong doing? |

new creation ...thank you for the info. on where to find help. There is much more to this story ... like you said ... more info keeps showing up ... I also was denied a position as music director at my home church two weeks after I lost my job. The review commitee said they need someone more stable and better suited for the job. I am still devistated. I have known many troubles, as often Christians do, but this time I feel anger. I have waited in hope many years for the chance to serve my lord in praise. And now the rejection has got me befuddled, and drifting. There is some merit to the excuse they gave for terminating me, but I know otherwise. My Christian beliefs tell me to forgive and go on, but I can't seem to go anywhere. A friend pointed out to me that this man (the manager) broke the law. Why should an enemy of God go unpunished by man? |

new creation ... do you think the business owner isn't a Christian because he is rich? One time I said he is a Christian and then I said he is a wealthy man. How does this contradict? If I could take the manager to court, I would, he's the one who broke the law. I was fired for lack of sales ... that's what I was told ... but I know the difference in how I was treated after he found out I shared Christ.
