82 | Born under the law of Moses | OT general | humility | 218010
Jesus told the leper to tell no man what had happened between them both, but show himself to the priest and offer the gifts as Moses commanded. Is this text saying that, before Jesus died He kept the law of Moses, offering up the sacrifices that would later be fulfilled in Him? Or is it saying that He taught others to keep the law and not Himself? We know He never sinned so what's the point of Him killing lambs? I guess if He did it, it was for conscience sake as well. Help me out somebody.(Gal 4:4; Matt 8:1-4) |

83 | In the fullness of time! | NT general | humility | 215026
Galatians 4:4 says Jesus came in the fullness of time. But what I don't fully understand, is why did'nt Jesus come as soon as Adam and Eve had sinned? I think it would've stopped all the useless sacrifices for sin and alot of the wars that happened in the old testament. I mean could'nt God have sent His Son a little earlier than He did?
84 | Life in the power of the tounge. | NT general | humility | 215192
LOl! This question really made me laugh at first, but when I looked at it a little longer, I saw how serious it really is. The Holy Spirit immediately put this text into my mind, (Romans 10:15), it says "How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!" Now if I were to interpret verse 15 in the same way you interpret verse 9, I guess I could say, only those who have "FEET" are chosen by God to preach the gospel. I have one question for you (walkforchrist). If you had a child who was born dumb ie, (lacking the power of speech), what would you say to me if I was to say to you, "You will never really know if this child really loves you." I'm sure your response would be, "Well, why do you say that?" And I respond by saying, "Well, how could you or anybody know for sure, unless the child opens it's mouth and says to you, "I love you"? How would you feel? Especially if you really love that child and have an intimate relationship with him/her? When the child is hungry, he/she cries. When the child has a dirty diaper, it cries. When he/she is happy, it smiles from ear to ear. Parents, especially mothers, have a God-given instinct that lets them know how to nurture and care for their kids without them being able to talk. That smile alone lets them know, "Hey! my child is happy". Even though that parent knows that there is a possibility that their child would never be able to speak, their child would still be able to kiss them, hug them, cook for them, help out with the chores, basically, anything besides answering the phone. Without that child being able to say anything, his/her works or actions will show exactly who they really are. The same thing with a Christian, our works show who we really are on the inside. God knows each and everyone of His children in a personal and special way, even though we might be deaf, dumb, blind, lame, retarded, rich, poor, black or white! We could preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to our friends and family members without being able to utter one word! Thats the power of God! Jesus said "By this will all men know that ye are my disciples, if you have love one toward the other. (John 13:35) Not just by saying it, although being able to say it would be better, but God loves all His children the same. Many Christians today could "talk-the-talk" but hav'nt gat the slightest idea of what "walking-the-walk" truly means. I'd rather be dumb, and have a faithful and prosperous walk with God, than to be in a perfect physical condition, yet, still, a sounding brass and a tinkling cymbal in the sight of God!
85 | Jesus spoke with authority!!! | NT general | humility | 215422
The Bible says that our lord spoke as one having authority and not as their scribes. What was wrong with the way the scribes taught? I believe it was because they did'nt receive Jesus. (Matt 7:28-29)
86 | What's the role of an "help meet?" | Gen 2:18 | humility | 216820
"And God said it is not good that man should be alone, I will make an help meet for him." (Gen 2:18) What exactly, is the role of an "help meet?" What could Eve do for Adam, that God could'nt or chose not to do? Afterall, Adam spoke "face to face" with God before Eve was created. I know that they we're to "be fruitful and multply and replenish the earth" so that's one reason He needed Eve. But what else did He need Eve for that He could'nt find in God? I ask because some people, even Christians believe that there's no real peace and joy in life if you're not married. I could only think of one pleasure that a wife could add to my life, that Jesus could'nt do, and that's sex. Anything else that a person looks for in marriage I have found in Jesus,to be honest. I want to get married but I don't feel that it's a need of mine. And I definitely don't think that not having a family is gonna ruin my relationship with God. Sex is only for a moment, just like all the other junk we try to replace Jesus with, they just won't can't satisfy the human heart. The more I see life the more I grow to understand that the majority of people, even some Christians get the role of the "help meet" and the role of "Jesus Christ" mixed up. So in closing, what should do we look for, in our "help meets?"

89 | Resurrection Day, not easter! | Exodus | humility | 215229
While I do agree that Easter has a pagan origin, I cannot agree that the resurrection day of our lord is a holy day, (according to Jesus). It's "man's" holy day, not God. Jesus calls one day of the week holy, and that's His Sabbath day, which is the seventh day of the week. Gen 2:2-3, Exodus 20:8-11, Matt 12:8, Mark 2:27-28, Luke 23:56. Sunday sacredness is a Roman Catholic's defyance of holy scriptures. The Romans worshiped many gods, therefore, all the days of the week, and the majority of what we call holidays (ie. Holy-days), were named by pagans, sunday was named after the sun god, monday was named after the moon god, wednesday was named after the planet venus, and saturday was named after saturn. If you do some research, you would find that the Catholics admits to changing God's fourth commandment during a time known as the dark ages. Many Christians are ignorant to these things that happened in early church history. I'll give you another truth, Christmas is a joining together of two words, Christ and Mass, and Halloween was named in "honor" of the day before the roman pagans "hallowed" or worshiped all their dead saints, it was first called "All Hallowed Eve". Christians who go to church on sunday don't really understand that they are breaking God's fourth commandment, but Jesus said if you break one, you break all. (James 2:10-12)
90 | Resurrection Day, not easter! | Exodus | humility | 215267
I want to apologize for my comment. I do agree with you in some point Val. I agree that I did'nt have to go to the extreme that I went to yesterday, plz forgive me. But I do feel that Saturday, which is the seventh day of the week, is God's Holy Day. Why? Because it's biblically correct. To all my Catholic friends who may be apart of this forum, I sincerely apologize for the extent that I went to, but I must speak the truth in love.
