81 | Why don't we follow Luke 4:16 | Luke 4:16 | elder4yhwh | 233473
Edb, Are you saying that MacArthur's Study Bible is more important than God's Word?? I know you know a commentary is that person's way of thinking (I don't mean to insult your intelligence) Let's go your route what does it say about Gen 2:1-4 and I will not list the rest of the scriptures becuase I assume you know them, but if you don't I'll post them for you. So do I understand you to say that the bible is wrong?? It plainly says Jesus' custom was to read on the Sabbath Day that's black and white; by the way did you double check the bible?? on that verse? |

83 | Where did Jesus do away with the Sabbath | Luke 6:5 | elder4yhwh | 232634
That Chapter is not dealing with the Sabbath. Because later on down in (vs 16)do not to let a man judge me if I do. Jesus himself said the Sabbath was made for man Mark 2:27-28 then why would he come along a nail it to the tree??
84 | Where did Jesus do away with the Sabbath | Luke 6:5 | elder4yhwh | 232670
Brad you spoke well in Romans, But what about Rom 17:3; 18th:3-5 and Romans 13 Paul wrote those as well. Don't get me wrong Christ exceeds the Sabbath! No one has showed me where he said it's done away with though (the my orginal question) Yes sir, alot of people don't think it's an important day seeing the God blessed, sacified, and made it holy, and it was made for man (Mark 2:27-28) that makes the "day" special for me. I'm not trying to start a debate I just want to hear other people's point of view.... |

86 | Where did Jesus do away with the Sabbath | Luke 6:5 | elder4yhwh | 232704
Brad this is what I'm talking about! (being thourgh) Yes Hebrews 4 is refering to three types of Sabbaths. Now my follow-up question is in the 10 Commandments it says "remember", he also blessed, sactifed and made it holy (why would He put all of the adjetives on that particuar day and not the others?) Exd 31:12-18 it's a perpetual coventant. Jesus said if you love my you will keep my commandments. He kept his Father's commandments and therefore he was a Sabbath keeper himself. John 15:10
87 | Where did Jesus do away with the Sabbath | Luke 6:5 | elder4yhwh | 232708
Beja, None the least (except anyone whom the truth as been revealed) When you know to do good and don't to that man it's sin (James 4:17) In the Ten people keep 9 out of the 10, I've always wondered why any one would pick out the Sabbath as oppose to the others The Pharisees chanllenged him on all of the commandemnts (10) and he defended each one of them which leads me to believe all of them were important. Paul himself pointed out that the commandments were holy, just and good. (Rom 7:12) Paul reasoned on the Sabbath as it was his manner (Act 17:2) In Acts he did it every Sabbath day (Acts 18:4) to persuade both Greeks and Jews and Pual himself was a follower os Christ. |

88 | can i get to heaven just readibg a bible | Luke 8:21 | elder4yhwh | 233400
According to St John 3rd Jesus told Nicedemus in order to enter into the Kingdom of God you have to be born again. (Baptized and Holy Ghost filled)It's not just reading the bible a person has to apply what they read and understand, and that comes from the having a realationship with God. Elder |

90 | Did pharisees understand/epexct baptism | John 1:25 | elder4yhwh | 232954
Yes indeed it appears that they had some type of expectancy from the indidvuals listed. I can't find the word baptise in the Old Testament so that fact that John was baptizing people in repentance, and to put some much importance on it being carried out in one's life. In the Old Testament their was no forgiveness of sin unless you offered a sacificed animal. They understood the Law but for John to make that statement that lead me to believe that's why the question was asked. Now they read (Isa 40:3-5) that a voice was going to be crying in the wilderness and since John said he was that person Elias spoke of they automatically assumed that he was the Christ. (John 1:1-31) |

Dan, I don't recommend you use one scripture for understanding. It appears to me that's what happen (no offence)It would be helpful for a person to read where the conversation started instead of coming in the middle Jn 5:31-47. Be blessed |

94 | Does God hear All prayers? | John 9:31 | elder4yhwh | 232629
It depends on the state of mind you're in e.g. 2 Chr 7:14 He hears Pro 1:23-33 He does not. I recommend that you pray at all cost; at least you're talking to him; and building a relationship as well be blessed |

100 | Why not having a WEEKLY communion? | Acts 20:7 | elder4yhwh | 232815
Extra note, Acts 20:7 is not refering to communion as we know it(Luke 22:17-20; Mat 26:26-29) Now in 1 Cor 11:20-29 as you see Paul refers it[communion] as the Lord's Supper. Upon reading those scriptures it's clear to me that they were treating the "Lord's Supper" as a party. My thought is if "bread(body) and water (blood)is not included in the same sentence it's not communion that's why I don't believe Acts 20:7 is refering to communion. Now on the first day of the week was a ruitual that they had, (that's equalvilant to our fellowship dinners/family) My second point I would like to address is the "Lord's Day" is found in Rev 1:10 and that's not refering to the first day of the week as well... |
