83 | Are we going thru the Tribulation | 2 Tim 3:12 | Val | 217392
All who live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. I would recommend reading the gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Notice the persecution and adversaries the Lord had. There is persecution over seas that is much much worse that what is encountered in the states. The tribulation that is spoken of for the end times is said to be much much worse that what has ever occurred in the history of the world. Joel. To answer you question no we are not going through the great tribulation now. In the book of Joel it says that the moon will be turned to blood. Joel 2:31. That has not happened in the history of the world. That is a future event.

Dear Doc, very encouraging words. When I awake in the morning sometimes the first thing I say is "This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it". A grateful heart is a sure way to conqueor the blues.
85 | Is tithing a command for chriatians? | 2 Cor 9:7 | Val | 217284
Dear Beja, in God's dealing with Israel we see there was a pattern. That pattern was God told them what He expected, they failed to live accordingly, they were punished, they repented and they were restored. This is a cycle that is repeated throughout the bible. The covenant that God made with Abraham is based upon His character not Israel's character. If one reads the restoration part in each of the books we see God's mercy. Then of course there is Revelation. You would have to throw out this book to make the claim that God is through with Israel. The church and Israel are two different programs. Always have been, always will be. Promises made to the church are made to individual christians. Promises made to Israel are to a nation, Israel. If disobedience throws you out of God's program none of us would be able to stand. That is what the cross is all about. Galatians is about FAITH. What it is and how it is traced back to Abraham. The promises made to Israel are yet future. That is what the tribulation is all about, bringing Israel to the point of dependance on Christ alone. The topic is not dispensation. The topic is what does the bible actually say. If you want to refute dispensation then why don't you write some of them and discuss it with them. Wouldn't that be the best way to reason the scriptures as it is with them that you have the problem. Many of us do not label ourselves. You do the labeling and it is not right. We are just trying to study the bible and have been brought to a conclusion that you want to label and refute so you are looking at the scriptures through rose colored glasses with a goal in mind. You are more eloquent that me but I do know that that approach is wrong. I do ask that you not make fun of people and insinuate that we are somehow curious people for our conclusions. We are as humble and seek God as you.

87 | god hates sin but loves the person | Ps 5:5 | Val | 216746
Luke 6, God commands us to love our enemies and we will be rewarded, verse 35 Love Your Enemies 27 “But I say to you who listen: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If anyone hits you on the cheek, offer the other also. And if anyone takes away your coat, don’t hold back your shirt either. 30 Give to everyone who asks from you, and from one who takes away your things, don’t ask for them back. 31 Just as you want others to do for you, do the same for them. 32 If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 If you do what is good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do what is good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is gracious to the ungrateful and evil. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. |

88 | god hates sin but loves the person | Ps 5:5 | Val | 216745
Dear Love, Christ came to rescue the sinner and give him eternal life through the shed blood of Christ on the cross. He paid the sin debt for everyone and when one puts his faith and trust in Christ and his finished work on the cross he receives the gift of eternal life. We are told in the following passages that Christ died for us while we were yet sinners so yes he does love sinners of which we all are. To die without receiving this gift puts one in the position of not having the debt paid for so thus one dies in his sins and we are told the wages of sin is death. Christ loves us all and wants all to come to the saving knowledge of him. It is the goodness of God that brings us to repentance. Yes he loves the sinner which we all are. Here are some references. Do a word study on sinners, love, merciful, eternal life for further scriptures. Romans 5, How much does God love sinners? He loves them so much that he died for them, verse 6. All humans are sinners, verse 12. Christ paid the sin debt for everyone, verse 18, Through the grace of God through His Son Jesus Christ we have eternal life, verse 21 Faith Triumphs 1 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace[1] with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Also through Him, we have obtained access by faith[2] into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, 4 endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. 5 This hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Those Declared Righteous Are Reconciled 6 For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. 8 But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us! 9 Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath. 10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, [then how]* much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life! 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Death through Adam and Life through Christ 12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all men, because all sinned.[3] 13 In fact, sin was in the world before the law, but sin is not charged to one’s account when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam’s transgression. He is a prototype of the Coming One. 15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man’s trespass the many died, how much more have the grace of God and the gift overflowed to the many by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ. 16 And the gift is not like the one man’s sin, because from one sin came the judgment, resulting in condemnation, but from many trespasses came the gift, resulting in justification.[4] 17 Since by the one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. 18 So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is life-giving justification[5] for everyone. 19 For just as through one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. 20 The law came along to multiply the trespass. But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. |

Justme, I was posting from my mobile phone. I was on vacation. I typed Mak. Short for the whole name. It came out man. The letters on the phone are small and it is a touch screen. I have had it about a month and still getting used to it. It was to say Greetings Mak. Context is key in interpretation of biblical passages. Definiations are one part of observation. Also asking the five w's and an h questions. Observation of the text is vital. Using the passage that was first quoted is what I was referring to in context if you read my response. The entire book is only a few chapters long. It is unwise for me to take a single word or a single verse and give a difficult subject as day of the Lord an interrpretation. The verses referred to to explain ones view must be looked at in their context in light of the historical background and the author's purpose for writing the entire book then look at the book in context of the entire sixty six books. Justme, are you the moderator now? |

Greetings man, ok let us look at the scripture you referenced in Zephaniah reading the entire recordasking the who, what, when, where, why and how questions such as who is the word of the Lord to. Who did Zephaniah prophesy to? What was the message? Why was this going to be done? What was gong to happen to them? Where was this going to happen? How long was it going to last? Who would the Lord use to bring about his message or his decree? What would the Lord do to this nation?

I don't know what logic you use in your first question. Do you read the old testament? The Lord through the prophets always told the people what to expect in the future. This is what showed that a prophet was a true prophet of the Lord is that 100 percent of what he said had to come true. For instance, look at when Israel went from monotheism to having a human king over them. The Lord told them exactly what would happen to their sons and daughters, their possessions and so forth. Because the wanted to be like pagan nations around them, the Lord let them have kings. The Lord always told them what the future would bring, always according to their choices. So your questions puzzles me. Secondly, in King Nebuchadnezzar life, the Lord through the prophet Daniel told him exactly what would happen to him. Nebuchadnezzar was a pagan king. Individual christians are being sanctified daily. So I am not understanding why you think this is a future event, i. e. sanctification aka refined, etc.
96 | Do you think there are any churches that | NT general | Val | 216378

97 | reply question to 1 corinth 15 question | 1 Cor 15:52 | Val | 216377
Because if you take Revelation literally and interpret it the same way you interpret other parts of the bible applying the same rules the conclusion these who have earnestly studied it come to is a pre-trib or mid-trib rapture. People who do not take Revelation literally have to ignore large portions of scripture which they symbolize or spiritualize or say it has already happened. The sin issue you speak of has nothing to do with the rapture of the church. The sin issue is a moral issue. When you look around you will always see sin and wonder and be confused. It is not our place to judge someone else's salvation. It is our place to look inside and judge ourselves. Wasn't it Peter who asked the Lord about John when the Lord told Peter what would happen to him and the Lord's reply was what is that to you, you follow me.

99 | When was Lucifer cast out of heaven? | Luke 10:18 | Val | 216315
Dear Searcher: Satan has been judged for his disobedience. He no longer has the position he once had before his fall. However, he still is held accountable to G-d so he still has access to heaven. His domain is the earth. The passages in Job show his answering to G-d. Some like to say Satan has power but he is on a leash. His being cast down to the pit for the thousand year reign of Christ is yet future.
