81 | Never had a chance to reject Christ | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41194
Searcher56, We both agree that everyone will be given a chance, WHEN is their chance? Is this the ONLY day of salvation is the question? There has to be another day for all who haven't had there first chance.
82 | restitution | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41185
Dear Scott, I don't think you are reading the question right, I'm asking about those who have never had a first chance to accept Christ in their life time, I know once Christ has been rejected, there is no second chance.
83 | Is today the only day of salvation for a | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41154
Dear Jensen, Well the world would sure be a lot better place, now wouldn't it. Unfortuntely thats not the case. God does have a plan to make the world a better place, and it includes teaching ALL humanity the truth of God. In His own time frame. In a Day of Salvation. Arnie |

84 | Never had a chance to reject Christ | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41152
Yes this will happen before the end comes. Has the end came yet? I don't put a time frame on God's plan of salvation.
85 | Is today the only day of salvation for a | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41151
I don't think God is a failure, why can't there be another day of salvation? God is just and merciful, I don't think it is either just or merciful to send billions of people who have never been given a chance to know the truth to eternal damnation. Given the fact of millions of abortions, those unborn certainly don't deserve eternal damnation. There are to many verses in the Bible that talk about a just and merciful God to believe that could happen.
86 | Never had a chance to reject Christ | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41149
Reformer Joe, thanks for the reply, the original question was, Is this the only day of salvation? I know we all fall into the catogory of Romans 3:11-12 We are all lost if it were left to us. Is God calling all humanity in this present age.Is the Holy Spirit at work calling all the peoples of the world? The Holy Spirit has always used human instruments to proclaims its message, Generally speaking I don't think there are to many people preaching the truth of God in these countries. Rom 10:14-15 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 87 | Old Testament Law | Jer 7:23 | Arnie | 41112
According to many of Paul's Epistles something has certainly been done away with. I believe several things changed and it happened at the time of Christ being crucified. The sacrificial system with all the offerings and oblations which were added to the law one year after Israel was given the law were done away with. Jer 7:22-23 22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: 23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. KJV This was one thing that was done away. Also the death penalty (for all who sin) was also done away with. In the Old Testament the Ten Commandments were given to Israel and it appears they are still to be kept, These NEW TESTAMENT verses say we need to keep the commandments of God if we claim to be Christ's and seek eternal life. Matt 19:16-17 16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why calle/st thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.KJV John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. KJV John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. KJV John 15:10 0 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. KJV 1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. KJV 1 John 2:4 that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. KJV 1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. KJV 1 John 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. KJV 1 John 5:2-3 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. KJV Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. KJV Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. KJV Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.KJV I think we have to be carefull not to throw the baby out with the bath water. 88 | Never had a chance to reject Christ | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41102
For the sake of brevity I didn't list all the rest of the verses in this chapter, but this whole chapter is talking about someone who knew the truth. Rom 1:17 For therein is the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD REVEALED from faith to faith KJV Rom 1:19 Because that which may be KNOWN OF GOD is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. KJV Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are CLEARLY SEEN, being UNDERSTOOD by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: KJV Rom 1:21 Because that, WHEN THEY KNEW GOD, they glorified him not as God, KJV Rom 1:23 And CHANGED THE GLORY of the uncorruptible God into an image KJV Rom 1:25 Who CHANGED THE TRUTH OF GOD into a lie, KJV Rom 1:28 And even as they did not LIKE TO RETAIN GOD in their knowledge, KJV |

90 | regarding immortal souls | Ezek 18:4 | Arnie | 41066
The human soul is the physical life in him, the same as in cattle or any other animal, i don't think anyone would say cattle have an immortal soul. The term for soul in the verse quoted is "nephesh" the stong's definition is the following: OT:5315 nephesh (neh'-fesh); from OT:5314; properly, a breathing creature, i.e. animal of (abstractly) vitality; used very widely in a literal, accommodated or figurative sense (bodily or mental): KJV - any, appetite, beast, body, breath, creature, X dead (-ly), desire, X [dis-] contented, X fish, ghost, greedy, he, heart (-y), (hath, X jeopardy of) life (X in jeopardy), lust, man, me, mind, mortally, one, own, person, pleasure, (her-, him-, my-, thyself-), them (your)- selves, slay, soul, tablet, they, thing, (X she) will, X would have it. 92 | Never had a chance to reject Christ | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41059
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;KJV I don't think this is speaking of those who never knew the truth. To "hold the truth" you must first know it. Satan would be a good example of one who holds the truth in unrighteousness |

93 | Never had a chance to reject Christ | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41056
Angel 1, I think you are so correct in not trying to MAKE God's plan happen, the example of Abraham and Sarah is right-on. He indeed must have a plan, and the only answer I see, about those who havn't had a chance to reject Christ, and it must include billions, is another "day of salvation". I thought someone might find an answer in the bible. Arnie
94 | Never had a chance to reject Christ | 2 Pet 3:1 | Arnie | 41026
Thank God for His (2 Peter 3:9) "long suffering" toward us. Surly it is by His grace we have hope. The question was about those who have never had a chance to reject His salvation, they have never come to "know" Him. I know we must be called first, we then come to "know" Christ and "the way" to salvation. I bring this up because of whats happening in the middle east. These suicide bombers have been taught from the time they have been little children to hate Israel and the western way, they have been taught a very radical veiw of Islam. They have never had a chance to come to know Christ as you or I have. Do you think you or I, brought up in those same circumstances, would choose Christ? I don't think so.

99 | I HAVE A QUESTION REGARDING THE SABBATH | Bible general Archive 1 | Arnie | 40152
1. In Genesis God made the Sabbath day on the seventh day. Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. KJV 2. Christ kept the Sabbath Day. Christ had to keep the seventh day or He would have been keeping the wrong day. Luke 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. KJV 3. We have records going back to the time of Christ as to the weekly time cycle. Arnie |

100 | when we die where do we go immediately | Bible general Archive 1 | Arnie | 40149
Man consists of 1. Body, 2. Soul, 3. Spirit 1 Thess 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Body is the "housing" for the soul and spirit, the soul is the "life" in man (or the life in any other creature), the spirit is the "mental orientation" of man. When a man dies his body becomes lifeless, the soul/life is gone and the spirit/mental orientation goes to sleep. If this is not the case how do you explain the following? David has not ascended into heaven yet, and if David hasn't ascended into heaven yet, I don't think anyone else has either. Acts 2:27-29 27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.KJV Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, KJV The following are some other scriptures which show we do not have any thoughts or knowledge after we die. Ps 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? KJV Eccl 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. KJV Isa 38:18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. KJV Eccl 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. KJV Job 14:12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. KJV |
