7angels: I looked over what remains of your posts. By what I can tell you don't answer many questions with a scripture, just sorta what you think scripture says. The SBF does not answer as "Dear ABBY does, as we are answering Bible questions. Perhaps the one in charge felt you did not answer correctly in line with scripture. After 20 posts I would like to see something about yourself in your profile. Beyond this those in charge are most always right on in deleating a post. I too have had a couple deleated as well over the several years I have been a member, and I think they were right to deleat them. justme |

82 | explain to me which bible to use | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 230687
A lot depends on what you want from a Bible. The KJV is an old standard that many use today. There are better translations if you want a more accurate Bible. The New American Standard Bible is perhaps the best, some would say the English Standars Version. I personally trust the New American Standard Bible the most. These two Bible translations are as close to word for word that can be made into English. The KJV is good but was translated in 1611 and lacks the use of older manuscripts that the NASB and the ESV USED. Thr NIV has been updated and has become an issue for some. The NIV no longer publishes the orignal updated of 1984 NIV. The newest revision done in 2011 uses gender neutral language. This presents real issues for some conserative christians. I for one, am uncertain, and without further study, I will withold my approval or reccomending the 2011 NIV for now. Chheck with your pastor ans see what he uses and suggests. Blessings |

84 | choose to come here? | Ps 139:1 | justme | 230167
salasnchrist: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! God knows what and who we will be, before we are born. But we do not exist until conception. May I suggest you read Psalm 139 as it is perhaps the most detailed explimation of our life I can think of. The doctrin of existing before is that of the Morman Cult. You are wise to check out any Doctrine with your Pastor or this Biblical based Christian web site. There are many cults, such as the Mormans, and they man seem like a wonderful loving people, and they may use the Bible, but they either add or take away to Scripture. Blessings justme |

Buzzard: May I ask how you came about asking this questions? There are three questions that are not simplied answered in a brief study of each question. Is this a school project or is this for your own information? Please take into consideration that to put forth the effort to do a decent response takes some time. To give an answer would you mind giving a reason for the questions? Thanks. justme |

89 | what is the rapture, what should i do? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 229306
legsrandall: The word "rapture" is not found in the Bible. The "gathering" is the word a number of versions use instead. May I suggest a book, THE MEANING OF THE MILLENNIUM FOUR VIEWS. EDITED BY ROBERT G. CLOUSE InterVarsity Press Downers Grove Illinois 60515 1977 There have been many reprints and it's easy to order. This book gives you the four positions, Historic Premillennialism, Dispenssational Premillennialism, Postmillennialism, and Amillennialism. I have given out a good number of these books over the years and have yet to have someone say they did not find it very helpful, I am sure you will too. The "rapture" is a hotly debated subject. Ultimately you will have to make up you own mind where you stand on the subject. May I suggest you read Matthew 24, and 25. In forming your theology of the rapture, it takes time to develope your own theology of the end of times. Don't expect to find an answer in a short period of time, it may take you several years. 90 | islam/Christians | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 229055
legsrandall: Islam has as it's stated requirement to kill infidels. Jews and Christians are infidels as stated in the Qur'an. The Qur'an is Islam's holiesy book. Islam is more than just a religion. Islam is a Military organization, as well a Political organization. The goal of Islam is the destroy the "little satan" and 'the big satan". Israel is the "little satan". The United States is "the big satan". The Jews and Christians are called "people of the book. Islam does not believe Jesus died on a Cross. The Qur'an has many translations, and there are many condradictions, but all agree on who is an infidel. Muslims are determined to wipe Israel and all Jews off the face of world. Islam is NOT a religion of peace, love, hope or kindness. The Qur'an has much to say about women and how to treat a wife. A wife does as she is told. A wife is to submit to her husbannd in all ways, at all timmes and in all places at anytime he demanda. A husband can have several wives. Mohammed married one wife at the age of six, but waited until she was nine to consummate the marriage. A man can get "married" if only for a very short time, and leave her as long as he pays money to the "wife". All the information I have presented can be found at www.worldviewweekend.com the DVD is titled THE WORLDVIEW WAR OF ISLAM. Brannon Howse Interviews Egyptian-born Usama Dakdok. Rev. Usama Dakdok "felt coplelled to translate the Qur'an accurately into English."...."the Qur'an contains little more than repetive legends, condradictions, and corrupted selections that have been borrowed from the Bible.".... "But a simple reading will reveal that the Qur'an itself is the source of terror. Islam is continually tauted as "a religion of peace,' yet the Qura'an itself does not call for peace. Indeed "Islam" does not mean "peace" but rather "submission." Western Muslims only speak of "peace" because they do not presently have "the upper hand." THE GENEROUS QUR'AN by Usama Dakdok Published by Usama Dakdok Publishing, LLC, Venice, FL 2009 Usama Dakdok has a website at www.thestraightway.org. Any one who tells you that Islam and Christianity are harmonious is seriously mistaken. Many Christian churches in Iraq and other Muslim countries have been destroyed, and millions of Christians have been killed for their faith in Jesus Christ. I sincerely pray this helps with your question, justme |

91 | Bible say about disciplining your wife? | Eph 5:25 | justme | 228906
Boxbeagle: Welcome to The Study Bible Forum: I Corinthians 13 is the chapter I suggest you to read. As Biblicalman has answered with the Scriptures and my suggestion, should be plenty to go on. Your question is much like a wife asking "what does the Bible say about dicipling your husband?" The marriage relationship is one where we are to love one another, and to be mutial submissive to each other. When the Scripture says the womanis the "weaker" of the two, try saying the word "softer one" that fits much better. Any marriage where the husband has a hard hand is one which is not the way Christ loves the church. No marriage should have a partner that wants to be the boss, we are to be lovers as Christ loves us. Blessings. justme |

93 | Is drinking and smoking pot allowed | Rom 14:23 | justme | 228726
Magie: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. I know of no family that has not been touched by drugs, divorce, living together before marriage. Each area mentioned above has very hurtful and harmful consequences, with legal, physical and spiritual peoblems. These issues are treated by the general public as no big deal because drugs, divorce and living together are so common. Do Christians get into these sinful traps of satan? All to often pastors hae couples ciming to them wanting to get married, after living together for some length of time. The sad point being some pastors are glad the couple just want to get married and marry them. Frankly, the pastor is in sin for not bring the couple into repentance. The odds of a marriage making it after living together just are not very good. The Bible is very clear that sex outside of being married is adultery, sexual sin. If you are living with your divorced husband it's sin. There are no excuses. You dear friend need to repent and leave asap. Divorce is always because of hardness of heart. There may be many outher factors but someone had a hard heart to begin with. There is nothing about drugs that is legal or has any medical benefit. Pot has been permited but is doubtful it will stay legal in several places. |

dnqualls: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. Just this last week this very subject was brought us on NRB tv. I do not recall who said this but they felt Issac was about 30 years old. Never before had I considered that age for Issac. Somehow I remember as a child all the Flannel Graphs showed Issac as a yound boy, not a man. The Flannel Graph sure shows my age, right? 95 | Are tatoos allowed? | Lev 19:28 | justme | 228241
Magie: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. It is few and far between that someone give any thought to the User info. especia;;y on the first post! Thank you! The others have given you the Old Testament verse about Tatoos, so no need to repeat that. However with you experiences in college I am sure you too have seen that many men and women are tatooing their bodies in every place a tatoo can be put. Today in our culture perhaps more than fifty percent of the people under fourty have a tatoo. I can remember a time when anyone with a tatoo was considered a rebel, and the tatoos reflected that rebelious spirit, with vulgare tatoos. I think unless a tatoo can refect that we are Christians, a tatoo is unwise. We are bought with a price, the Blood of Jesus. If we are bought by Christ than we are His ans any mark on us should reflect we belong to Jesus. This gives anyone reading this something to think about, hey? justme |

96 | wife left doing drugs adultery help | Matt 19:9 | justme | 227892
hwytech: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. The Book of Hosea has some of the same issues you are experiencing. I encourage you to take your time reading Hosea. The picture of Hosea's wayward wife is heart gripping. The experience of Hosea is a true picture of Jesus Christ and how He redeemed you and I. The sacrifice Christ Jesus paid to redeem us is unmeasurable. Ephesians 5:25-33 is where husbands are told how to love their wife. These verses are very difficult to follow, especially under circumstances you and your wife are in. 1Peter 3:4 is a verse that is written mainly for wives, but dear brother it works for all brethern be they be male or female. Under such trying situation that your family is in it would be natural to be angry, resentful. Most anyone in your situation would naturally want to be loud, mean, resentful and out of control. But 1 Peter 3:4 instructs us to be gentle and have a quiet spirit. This is opposite of what seems the natural way to behave. No where in Scripture does it say you have to get a divorce. By what you have said there seems to have been several problems in your home leading up to your wife and daughter leaving you. As the spiritual leader of your home why was your daughter allowed to have a boy friend living with her in your house? I am not saying this to provoke you, but to show a point that was clearly wrong to be allowed. So it seems things were out of control in your home. I am sure this is just the tip of the iceburg. You need to share this situation with your pastor. I encourage you to put divorce out of your mind. Divorce even when there is adultery, unless your wife remarries there is room for God to restore your marriage. I believe there is no greater witness for Christ then a restored marriage. Restoration begins when you are able to see where you failed as well as your wife. It is never, never the fault of just one person in a marriage. Unless you do all you can to restore and redeem your wife, you are at fault as well. Sounds harsh, but when we Covenant with God that we will love and cherish for better or worse until death parts us, that is a very serious promise to God and your wife. Right now it is the worst, God knows what you feel and the heartache you are in. Trust God to work in your life and hers. Put your shame, hurt, and anger in the hands of Jesus. This will take time, it is not an easy road to take. Satan will test you to dump our wife and more on. But you will carry the hurt, and anger right into the next relationship. You need Jesus to heal you and your wife and daughter, it can happen. Please get help either from your pastor or a Christian counselor. I will be remembering you in prayer, blessings. justme |

97 | Lawful marriage certificate | Rom 13:1 | justme | 227759
yellowrose61: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. I can state with assurance having been a pastor in Kansas, and marring several couples, that there is no such "legal' marriage without a Kansas Marriage license. I have been told there is no such thing as a Common Law marriage any where in the United States any longer. There is no wiggle-room left for this couple. They can say as many vows to each other as they want, but it amounts to a hill of beans sa far as any legal marriage goes. Sorry to tell you this. justme |

legsrandall: The JW's are a cult. They believe Jesus is a brother to Satan, and reject Jesus as the only way to salvation. The JW's are trained in very direct answeres ind have text of the Bible that is twisted to make their beliefs fit their purposes.
