662 | Struggling with divorce question | Matt 19:9 | justme | 52542
Numbers6:24-26: I like the verses you choose, it's a rather long name so I will just call you numbers, ok? Now lets go to divorce college, the calss is Legalism, Divorce 101. Lets for the sake of damnation, hell fire, and brimstone, we will call you both at fault, for the divorces. This is regardless of who was at gulty, ok? Follow me so far? Being nearly perfect a legalist, I say you and your husband have sinned. Now we know scripture says niether you can return to you ex mates. Right? In legalism 101 you both are condemmed! You are second class Christians! You will pay forever bt us better than you. Niether of you can ever teach a Sunday Class, serve as a Deacon, and other restrictions are made depending on how legal you want me to be. Now Deacon Melvin has had a few affairs, but did not get a divorce, and at the barber shop glances at the nasty magizines, just to be able to testify how bad they are, ya know! He does not look at the pictures but a quick glance. Ministry is closed to you. So you must sit back and feel like dung the rest of your life. That's it! Take it or leave! Or leave and go some where else and be quiet about your divorce. Now let me take you to Sinners who don't know what to do. College class, Grace and Mercy 101. I am a sinner saved by grace. I have planks in my eyes too. Lets just say for the time being, because there maybe others who read this who did commit adultry, ok? Lets say you and your husband did leave your mates for an affair. And your mates divorced you. Lets assume you got mattied. And so did you ex mates. You are forbidden to go back to your ex mates by scripture. Believe me I have seen it much more complecated situations than this! What should you do? Now answer me a question, ok? How does the Lord Jesis Christ forgive sin? Is there any sin that is not forgiven exactly the same way? I want to interject here and now this is not a way to commit a sin and say God will forgive me. We will reap what we sow. I may lose my friends respect, I may have to repent and go to my exmate and confess my sin and seek forgiveness. Repentance is humilating! But it is healing, as God intended it to be. Back to divorced Christians who have remarried even when it was wrong do so. 1 John 1:9, together you confess your sins to the Lord Jesus. and in many cases this includes seeking repentance and forgivneness. I knnow Jesus will cleanse us, and forgive us. With humans they may or may not. Then it is between then and God. This is the only way I know you and your husband can be absolutly sure you marriage is right as it can be. Please remember I have used the worst picture, not yours as you describe it. Gods grace, mercy and forgiveness is complete. When any other Christian Judges you, be kind, and remember you answer to Christ not them, and they will answer to Christ as well. May I offer this to you and your husband. Second marriages have a very high failure rate. The odds are way over on the side you will not make this marriage last. I would find a recommended Christian marriage counselor and have regular check ups as I call it. If you did not get good premarital counseling, with personality test and temperment tests, you need this badly. You both have some deep wounds that you may not even know of. You both came with old bagage. No Divorce is totally without some fault. We are all sinners and that gets in the way no matter who we marry. I sincerely want you marriage to work, and endure. Please give my suggestions some serious thought. If one of you wont go, then the other should, to help to be the best you can be. I pray Gods best for you both. agape, justme |

663 | Can a divorced christian go to heaven | Matt 19:9 | justme | 52532
Ann Creed:I ask my self why is Ann asking this? I can think of a lot of possibilities, but I do not know. I could offer all kinds of advise, and in some cases justify your divorce. But that still has not answered your basic question. So I will try to tell you about Gods deep love, and how much He loves you, Ann! Let me start out that I believe God hates dinorce! Divorce is a sin, no if's and's or but's about it. Please note God hates the sin, not the sinner! There is a big difference. God's Word says, we reap what we sow. That is an absolute truth. I hope you have a Bible. Turn to Romans 8: now, read verses 31 to 39. please dont read on until you have read these verses, ok? In verse 39 is there anything that can stop God from loving you? NO! The word depth, means the nost horrable thing you can imagine! No matter how backslidden you have fallen, God still loves you! For me that is overwhelming to understand. Now turn to 1 John 1:9 Divorce is a sin! Lets call sin a sin. Do you agree so far? If so, confess all the sins you know that you need to tell Jesus. For some, like me, this may take some time. Ask Jesus to have the Holy Spirit make known to you, sin you may have forgotten. Now as you become aware of sins, confess them. Believe me this will happen if you ask and are sincere. Now the Word says that if you have made Christ Lord, He forgives us, and makes us clean!. We are not told to ask for forgiveness, but to confess our sin. He does the forgiving as a promise. NO where in scripture does it say because you are divorced as a Christian you will go to hell! The only thing that a person chooses to go to hell for, is rejecting Jesus Christ as their Lord. If there is any way, and neither of you has remarried, I encourage you to go to a Christian Counselor, who is a licensed, degreed Christian. I pray for God'd wisdom in your life, agape, justme |

664 | Did the Amplified come from Wescott and | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 52367
This is rather a long time from the posting of this question. But, maybe it's not too late. I heard this on a Phoenix AZ. Christian radio station several years ago. I called Lockman Foundation and repeated what I had heard. They wrote me back, giving me a lengthy detailed letter. To give their response a basic answer, No! No one refuted anything about the NASB. What is most interesting is the whole story of Wescott and Hort is so untrue. Again this is a false rumor that is repeated with out having been read by the person repeating the error. In other words gossip. Does anyone believe for one moment that the KJV did not have sinfull men, human and frail working on that translation? There is no such thing as aperfect translation, as long as humankind is involved. Of all translations the NASB updated, far exceeds any word for word translation. At least that's my honest opinion. However with so many, many, english translations that are avaliable, even the most liberal, a person can still find Christ as Lord. I do not include the New World Translation of the JW. The sad thing is we are a nation of Biblically ignorant people. Is something wrong here? agape, justme |

665 | Looking for passage of scripture | Matthew | justme | 52356
Brent: Matthew 12:43 to 45.I believe is the passage you have in mind. This is also recorded in Luke 11:24 to 26. I suggest that you go back to Luke 11:17 and read to verse 28 to get the picture in better context. Jewish exorcists claimed to cast out demons, but they rejected Jesus Christ. Their exorcisims were ineffective. Thus leaving the person in a much worse state. This is a summary of notes in the NASB Study Bible, by Zondervan. My understanding is a Christian can not be posessed by a demon as Christ resides in you with the everlasting seal of the Holy Spirit. However, a Christian can be infulenced by demons. A Christian in a carnal state, or some say blackslidden state, and can do just about any sin one can imagine. We only have to look at King David. Lust, adultry, lies, murder, that's some pretty serious sins. If someone has bad in you mind, that is where sin is formed. But it is not sin until a person makes a choice to act on it. Jesus said lusting was a sin. To continue to think and long for something is sinful. I think it would be hard to find a man or woman who has not had the thought of lust sometime. May I refer you to 1 John 1:9 we are to confess our sins! Not to ask forgiveness, but to confess our sins. Jesus forgives our sin when we confess, what He already knows! What a loving Father that just wants us to be honest about our sins, and to call a sin, a sin. With the Blood of Christ we are bathed in forgiveness. I can hardly believe I am loved this much. And friend you are too! I sugggest spending time listening to Christian radio, reading the Bible daily, and pray for others and yourself constantly. You can do anything and still pray. I believe this will help with bad thoughts. I hope this has helped a little. agape, justme |

666 | "Strong and courageous, its meaning! | Josh 1:6 | justme | 52328
Lovejoy: Romans 15:1 says we are to be strong in our faith in contrast to weak in faith. The act of being courageous would apply to being strong in your faith, in the daily traffic pattern of your life. Like how we interact with people every day. This seems to be hardest with the family we live with day after day. agape, justme |

667 | Did I stick my neck out? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 52325
vume: 2 Corinthians 5:7 The Christian life is a continous act of faith. From making Jesus Christ Lord at the first, Them Baptism, if we are to walk in faith. Every thing from point of making Jesus Lord is walking in faith, or our old nature. Faith is action, not a thing. When you drive a car at night your faith extends beyond the headlights, because most cars can't stop in the distance that the headlights light. So, we walk by faith not by sight! agape, justme |

668 | Authorized name vs. Unauthorized? | Matt 16:18 | justme | 52096
Hello Raven: In The real world of today, names are associated with items, or churches, food products and more. Like when I hear the word Ford, I know what to expect. The same with Dodge, Chevy, KIA, and VW. For me, when I see Assembly of God, Church of Christ, LDS, JV, Southern Baptist, GARB, Consertive Baptist, American Baptist or even Calvary Chapel, I have a pretty good idea what their theology is. I have spent many, many hours learning, and visiting these churches. I am totally incompatable with LDS, and JV. I have many other friends that belong to these other churches. I know what I believe and where I feel most represents my theology, and follows how I think biblically a church should be run. I am glad for these signs and denominations telling me these things. Christ did not start a church persay. Paul started several. Not all were run the same. They all had problems! As long as human beings are in the human body we will have difference of opinions on Baptism, Denominationalisn, which english translation is the best Bible, can I lose my salvation, speaking in tongues, and the list gets bigger and never ending. However, Galations 5:6 ......The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. NIV. So RAVEN if you so choose to ride a donkey to worship, on the ground, facing east, and sing with with a 76 trumbone band, or with no instruments, and if you want to speak in tongues, or rule against tongues, if your church wants only women pastors or men, that is one great thing about living in a free country! I might add I have paid a very high price for this freedom! So Raven, what would you think is best? A church run government, and state? Should we all sav Raven has the total truth lets follow that foul? Just what is it you would like to see/ No denominations? Well I can tell you in Bolivia in September of 1983 if it were not for Southern Baptists many missionaries who depend on private denoations would have gone belly up! They came to the rescue because inflation was 1000 percent a month! There are many mansions, and thank God some of us care about other believers no matter what church they are, except cults. But even then we are to show love! I honestly hope you read this with a tender heart, and an open spirit for the Holy Spirit to touch you in a special way. agape, justme |

669 | Is this considered a foul in Gods eyes? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 52093
Raven: I noticed taht you began in the Forum and Febuary 13 2002, and posted 161 times. Please take time and put something about your self in the user info! Pretty please. I will remind you that I came to you, in writing, and told you how offend I was at you coments. You totally ignored me! Do you feel comfortable just letting these feelings go by? I do not, and consider this a violation of Matthew 18. The only thing is I have no person to go with me to confront you. So please respond! I will not go away, I will pray that the Lord gives you encouragement to resolve your hostile attitude. I expect to hear from you. agape, farout |

671 | Is this considered a foul in Gods eyes? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 52070
I agree! I think carpet on the church floors is a waste also, what's wrong with dirt floors? Why have paint on thw walls? In fact why not have services in the out doors? We need to get down to basics! We must be good stewards so we can spend the money doing......what? Raven do you have a auto? House? airconditioner, heater? Don't you believe we need to do all we can as good stewards to make our church and it's activities attract people? That way we can get them to see Christians are the happiest people on earth, thanks to Jesus Christ our Lord. We live near the Amish, and they live a very distinct simple but very hard lifestyle. They attract attention, but lack evangelism. I have several Amish friends, anf I love then dearly. But to each Christian is given a choice to live life. NO ONE WAY IS THE ONLY WAY. Think about it. agape. justme |

672 | Why is Mark 16:9-20 contested? | Mark | justme | 52069
The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9 to 20. There are other scriptures in other spots that have minor additions like this one. The editors want you fully informed when they come across these. Nothing of the Gospel is changed, and therefor it in notworthy. agape, justme |

I do not believe in per determination. However Because God knows begining to end even thouhg God has not made our choices, He knows what what we will choose. Because He will not force us to love or worship Him we do have freeom of our will to choose. In order to have our own free will there must have something to male choices about. Good and Evil are strictly up to us. I hope this is not too confusing. agape, justme |

675 | Preterist interpretation of this verse. | Luke 21:32 | justme | 51395
To be quite honest this Generation think is debatable, and many fine Christians have strong evidence for either side. I cab sit in the middle and I can understand both sides. Infact I could defend either side in a debate. I think is how one interprets Scripture. I am a creationist, and do not believe in the JEPD theory of Genesis. To my way of understanding Scripture is, how you believe the begining is how you will understand Revelation. That determines how you understand the rest of the Bible. I find Premillennialism is the better way to interpret scripture. I find more Amillennialist take a liberal view of scripture, would believe in the JEPD theory and try to alogoirize scripture, that I would take more litteral. Usually for most amilennialist they would see AD 70 as completing that Generation you are refering to. May I suggest THE MEANING OF THE MILLENNIUM FOUR VIEWS edited by Robert G. Clouse published by InterVarsity Press. This is in print and easy to get or order. Infact I got one for our Pastor recently. Also THINGS TO COME by J. Dwight Pentecost by Zondervan. Pentecost also has THE WORDS AND WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST, and A HARMONY OF THE WORDS AND WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST. All three books are so easy reading and a mainstay for a good library for Christians. I really enjot the Harmony. The issue you are dealing with is solid meat, and make sure you have teeth to chew this prime rib of the Word. You are in some good dialogue material that will strech your growth. I would caution you don't get so defensive that it becomes a challenge to show weakness in a nother believer. I know where I stand. I love to hear others view. If I listen to the other person, but because they feel I am so wrong, they won't listen to my view, I am the wiser, not them. If both of you listen to each other then you both have learned and grown in understanding at least. The thing that amazes me, the Bible is about 1100 pages from cover to cover. Yet there are billions of pages of mans writings trying to explain it's every little detail. A little odd is it not? I hope you enjoy your study, and perhaps I have helped a little. agape, justme |

676 | Can a person ever loose his salvation? | Hebrews | justme | 51323
Stacy: Hebrews 7:25. Jesus saves us completly! However, let me ask you something? What makes you think you were ever saved? I prefer to come to this question. You must have some reason for doubting? I would rather say why not make 100 percent that you are a Christian, OK? Have you confessed your sins to Christ? h Have you repented of your sins? Stacy for 37 years I constantly doubted my salvation. Everyone told me to read my Bible more. I wore out several Bibles and still I doubted. I was told to pray more. I prayed over and over and over again! I still doubted my salvation. Then at a mens brakfast I heard a man just like me! He too had gone and done all the things I had done, and advised to do. However what he found was repentance! That's what I had never done. I had prayed to Christ I wanted to repent of my sins. I advise when you do that be ready for change to happen! I had stolen from my goverment job for years. I had to take it all back. I never filed and honest income tax. I went back and refiled for all the years I could! I wound up owing NOTHING. WOW! I went to people I had hurt for many years and asked their forgiveness. I had to go to each decon of my church to ask if I could be baptized. They would not believe I got saved. One deacon said If your not saved then maybe I am not either. You see Stacey, I was a God seeker, I tried to work my way to salvation, all the time needing assurance I was saved. I was not. How I wish some one would have spent more time going back to basics. Stacey, right now as you read this I pray the Lord Jesus Christ will either convict you or assure you. I pray that you will know right this minuet which your situation is. Now pray ask Christ to either change your life or recommit your life right now! I pray this with you in Jesus Christ Holy name. Stacey, call someone right now. Someone who is a Christian and tell then what you have done. I would like to know what you did as well. I will remember you in prayer. agape, justme |

677 | What does "generation" here mean? | Luke 21:32 | justme | 51308
Autumn: In Luke21:32 the greek word yevea signifies a betting, or birth; then that which has begotten, a family; or successive members of a genealogy. The word came to mean an age,ie., a period ordinarily occupied by each successive generation, say, of thirty or fourty years. This acme from VINES EXPOSITORY DICTIONARY OF NEW TESTAMENT WORDS by W.E. Vine, M.A. Royal Publishers, INC Nashville, Tennessee September 1952. Second printing 1983. This is an excellent tool when used with parallel New Testament in Greek and Hebrew. These are in print and what every Christian should have do do a word study. I think a Christian with out a good solid base of books to help in language and Concordance is not taking their responsiblity to grow very seriously. The problem is few know how to share what it is will make the Bible easier to understand. Bible study is a life time of study. I hope this helps. agape, justme |

If the tuuth shall set you free, then it seems to me that that grace and truth are different sides of the same coin. That's the way I see it. Oh read my question on baptismal regeneration and churches that bapyize small children. I bet I get clobbered for asking such a question. Oh well, I am a big target and hard to misss. Hope my answer to you give you a new perspective. agape, justme |

679 | Were they God seeking women etc... | Is 3:16 | justme | 50931
God Denounced Judahs women. They walked in a way that that communicated a specfic attitude. They had ornaments on their ankles that made thire walk different. The way they dressed was seductive, and not in keeping with Godly dress. this gives the idea their dress more like a prostitute, than that of a Godly Jewish believer. If you have any doubt that younger women don't like to intice young men, go into any womens clothing store and see how much it costs to reviel as much as possible and still consider it covering the barest possible. Go to a youth camp and just watch the older teenagers. That's is what God was upset over. The morals that christian teenagers think are ok are so far out of line there are degrees of vergnity! We are messing up in not being direct and open with our kids. When sexually frank ideas are presented in third grade to our children, we need to talk with out kids a lot sooner with very honest answers. agape, justme |
