Hi Doc: The question just sounded to me as though the person asking, didn't want a relationship, with God, but more on the manner of a seeker of knowledge, for knowledge sake. Something else to learn. So I did recommend a Book, Yes. I find it hard to believe you haven't heard of him before. Google it, you can read some of it online, maybe all, I don't know. I don't read or listen either of those people, that you were talking about. God Bless Jim |

63 | Need good book series...entire bible... | Gen 1:1 | lookinforacity | 204854
Hi Egosophist You couldn't get a better Christian, biblical based direction, than the Bible itself. God inspired, faith based believers to write it for us, to be interpreted for us by the Holy Spirit. It is not another book of Philosophy, it isn't like any other book, in the entire world, it is a book from the Creator of the Universe, to us individually, if you open your heart, "God will talk to you personally". Just like when He talked to Adam, in the Garden. But if all you want, is a bunch of head knowledge, from other people's viewpoint then by all means, get a lot of books. There are literally tons of them out there. If that's your goal, then this one should do the trick. JESUS REDISCOVERED By MALCOLM MUGGERIDGE Have yourself a good year or so. JIM |

64 | The 7 Churches of ASIA | Rev 1:4 | lookinforacity | 204850
Hi: F.O.O.T.: The Church, (body of believers). It just seemed to me, there was more to it, than what we come up with at first glance. Yeah, I know what you mean, different types, or personalities of Church bodies. I have felt the same. But it also seems as though, there should be more. Those Churches were apparently, pretty much wiped out, by the Ottoman Empire. Why? Did they NOT do, what they were told to do? The letter to these Churches, was different, than those Paul wrote, THIS LETTER was sent to all of them. Paul was writing to the others, in essence to fine tune them. Teaching doctrine. All of the other books (letters) can be used for teaching, this letter is Prophesy ! God did tell him to write it, (God) KNOWING that it would, be put into the Bible. Isn't it strange, it ended up, as the last one, in today's Bible. looks like that's just where it should be. The rest of the book of Rev. has so much more spiritual symbolism, meaning, it's like they don't go together. What was written in the first few chapters could have been sent to them, separately. Unless there is another deeper meaning, because they are included, in the whole of Rev. God Bless thanks JIM |

65 | The 7 Churches of ASIA | Rev 1:4 | lookinforacity | 204827
The seven Churches that were in Asia, received warning. Did they change, do they still exist? Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea. These Churches were important enough, to be mentioned in Revelation, and also important enough, to get direct warning from Jesus. (WHY) How do they fit into the picture, of the Church, as it is today? If they did not survive, what happened to them, and when? |

66 | Jewish Calendar ? | Leviticus | lookinforacity | 204801
Hi Tamara: Thank you for the quick response, but it doesn't quite answer the question does it. If all of the first leaders of the faith, were JEWS then how, why, did it not stay? It was there calendar, seems from what you answered. First it was a Pagan, Caesar, then a Pope. It was the Church, that has changed things again. Seems like the Church was more interested, in the seperation from anything Jewish. Also the starting point of Christianity, than the correct date of Easter. More or less a break with the Jews. Didn't the Early church, hold the Jews responsible for the Crucifixion of Christ, and persecute them, like they did in the Spanish inquisition? If we kept using the Jewish calendar, wouldn't Easter always fall on Passover? In HIM JIM |

67 | Jewish Holy Days | Not Specified | lookinforacity | 204794
Why do we as Christians, NOT observe the Jewish Holy days, as set forth in the Bible? Being a part of OUR History, would not the observance of them, be beneficial to us as Christians? Ephesians 2:11-22, We are fellow citizens, and of the household of GOD, as one new man, with the Jews. Shouldn't we identify more closely, with the Jews? Whenever, however we can? NOT out of Legalism, or by LAW. But out of love for the Jewish people, by observing the Holy Days. How do we as Christians, demonstrate the Love we are told to have for the Jews? |

71 | A physical discription of Jesus Christ | Is 53:2 | lookinforacity | 204756
Hi WWAT: It doesn"t mean much, but the Jewish people are discendants of the Caldeans,(Iraqi's through Abraham) plus when they were in Egypt, (410yrs.) they intermaried, so I would tend to believe, that Jesus would resemble a combination look. Not much help but close. Have a GOD BLESSED DAY Jim |

72 | Progressive Revelation | Not Specified | lookinforacity | 204717
Where does the Theology of, Progressive Revelation come from? I have done a search on the term, it seems as though whenever something is hard do define, the term ( P.R.) is then used to explain it away. The question is where, and when did the term first come from? 1) Who taught it first? 2) When ? |

74 | Retain or forgive sins? | John 20:22 | lookinforacity | 204690
Hi John: So what your saying is that God Predestinated, some of the Jews, to accept Jesus as Messiah, at that time, and said to Jesus HIDE IT form everyone else. If there is such a thing as predestinatin of salvation, then he didn't have to hide it from anyone. According to the belief, he would have already predestinated, who would accept Jesus. So the question arises. WHY? Are we to believe that the only ones that accepted HIM, at that time, were the only ones that could accept HIM? If So, then why hide it? I'm not disputing Gods sovereignty, he can do as he pleases. My disput is with man, on the question of Predestination. GOD BLESS JIM |

75 | Retain or forgive sins? | John 20:22 | lookinforacity | 204676
Hi Doc. Mark 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. These are the words of Christ to the Disciples, Jesus was saying to them. I'm hiding the truth in plane sight, because if they could understand, they would believe. Doesn't that contradict the doctrine, (Teaching ) of predestination? Seems like it puts it into the area of choice? God (Jesus) was acting, to hinder them from, an ability, "to move on their own"? In Christ's Love Jim |

76 | Retain or forgive sins? | John 20:22 | lookinforacity | 204654
Hi Tamara: In light of these scriptures, how are they to be interpreted? In relation to your question. These are just food for thought. We cannot dismiss them, as never having been said. Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Luke 11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Matthew 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Matthew 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Luke 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. Mark 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." Luke 17:3 So watch yourselves. "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. Acts 10:43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name." 2 Corinthians 2:10 If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, Love in Christ Jim |

78 | All reasons Pharisees confront Jesus? | Mark 12:13 | lookinforacity | 204549
HI again Tamara: This is a good reason for doing what they did, not sure if scripture, says anything else about reasons for confrontations, but this is how it all ended. Vs. 1 names them all, as being present. Mark 15 1Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law and the whole Sanhedren, reached a decision. 9"Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?" asked Pilate, 10knowing it was out off ( ENVY ) that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him They bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate. GOD BLESS Jim |

Hi John: I thought of the word (delight) , these are the ones that came up, couldn't think of any better things to delight in. Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. Psalm 112:1 Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands. Psalm 119:16 I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word. Psalm 119:24 Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors. Psalm 119:35 Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Psalm 119:47 for I delight in your commands because I love them. Psalm 119:77 Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight. Psalm 119:92 If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. Psalm 119:143 Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands are my delight. Psalm 119:174 I long for your salvation, O LORD, and your law is my delight. Romans 7:22 For in my inner being I delight in God's law; God Bless Jim |
