Hi Hank poor choice of a word on my behalf. I should have used both a narritive and a spiritual meaning. I do beleive that the whole bible has meny spiritual meanings hideen in it. I beleive that from the opening of the bible in Gen. to the close in Rev. that the bible teaches us about God the Father,Jesus Christ the son and the Holy Spirit. Now if there is no spiritual meanings in the book of Gen. how do you explain what is written in 1pet.3:20-21 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21The LIKE FIGURE whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. Is this not both a historical narritive as well as having a spiritual meaning? There is also the story of Abraham and Issac, a narritive of what happend ,but also with a spiritual meaning Heb.11:17-19 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 19Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. There are many more ,Joseph , Melchisedec, Isaac, Jacob(Israel) etc. So what i'm saying is that just because it is a narritive of what actualy took place does not mean that there is no spiritual meaning behind the narritve. In Christ Scott. |

Makarios, Ps.90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. does this not answer the thousand day , one day priciple. Gen.1:14-19 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for SIGNS, and for SEASONS, and for DAYS, and YEARS: 15And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19And the evening and the morning were the FOURTH DAY. The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. God did not divide time into a twenty-four hour day until the fourth day, so the first 3 days could have been much longer then 24 hours. Lets go back to Adam , God said in the DAY that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Is God lying? for Adam lived 930 years. Now if you take the thousand year ,one day principle Adam died before the day was finnished. And if you take the stand that this is a spiritual death are you not then making this allegorical? Now I ask this question because I beleave the whole bible to be both a narritive and allegorical. Did God rest on the seventh day? If so why does Jesus state in Jn.5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father WORKETH hitherto, and I work. The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. Could it not be , because we are now living in the sixth day? and the seventh day is in the near future.Just a thought. In Christ Scott. |

Hi Makarios, 2Pet.3:8 says 8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. Now we know Adam lived 930 years Ge.5:5 then died. Ge.2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. Adam did not live past that day. So if 930 years is not one day who is to say what realy is? I hope this make sence , I'm not very good at putting my thoughts down on paper. In Christ Scott. |

67 | Jesus knew.......... | John 13:11 | Sctt | 42536
Hi Love , Jesus says that one of you is a devil verse70 John says this is Judas verse 71. lets look at Lu.22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. To me this is the second witness. Now to the fact that Jesus knew we have to look at predestination. Acts 1:16 says Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. Now when I look at a scripture like this I see that Judas was predestinated to be the one that was prophisied to betray Jesus. Did he have his own free will in this matter? No, I don't think so he like Pharaoh was raised up for this purpose.Ro.9:17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. So if he was raised up for this purpose were is his free will? he did what was prophiseied of him to fulfill the scriptures. Did he go to heaven or hell? I look at it this way he went through hell to get to heaven. I beleave in a restitution of all things, all things are Gods ,and all things will be restored unto Him. Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. Read 1Pet.3:18-20 and let me know your thoughts on it. All scripture taken fron KJV. I hope this helps to answer your questions. In Christ Scott. |

68 | Bless Israel - say "God bless Israel"? | Gen 12:3 | Sctt | 42289
Hi searcher Paul prayed for Israel , so we should also follow this example.Ro.10:1-4 1Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. This is the natural Israel, not the spiritual.IN Christ Scott lets pray.Amen |

70 | Are we expected to keep the sabath? | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 42241
Hi Elisah I look at it this way the commandment was written in stone, you cannot erase it out of stone. the only way to get something out of stone is to break it. So unless you are doing a work for God on the sabath, teaching, ministering etc.,you are breaking the commandment. Paster Scott brings up a good point Christ is our rest, but resting in Christ is doing His work. If you look in the OT the preists were exempt from the sabbath because they did the works of God.MT.12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? Arnie, Paul calls this the law of sin. read Ro.7:1-25 and take notice of the last 10 verses,Paul also found this to be true,as I think we all do.In Christ Scott. verse 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. verse 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? verse 25 The answer. I thank God though Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with my mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. |

73 | Two Creation Stories? | Gen 1:1 | Sctt | 42044
Part4 Note:God created the living creature , this is mankind with all the different races. God looks at the living creature that he has made and says lets make man in our image. So God takes one of the races of man that he created and puts him in the garden to train him. This may sound strange at first but God has always called out a people , Abraham out of Haran , Israel out of Egypt , the elect out of this world. In each of these God has called his chosen people to become seperated from the rest of the races of man. Now to become seperated means to not be carnally minded like the rest of the races of mankind (My interpitation), but to be spiritually minded. So then God takes this race of man , the Hebrew or tribe of Israel and puts him in the garden to be made into his image ( God calls Israel his firstborn son. EX.4:22 Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn.) though obedience to his commands. Now from this tribe of Israel God creates the church , as seen in that Jesus Christ is of the tribe of Judah , which is a tribe of Israel , and out of Christ arises the church. This also takes away the confusion of where Cain's wife came from, she was of another tribe. I know that you my not agree with all of whats written here, so search the scriptures for yourself(I know you will, the bible tells us to)and let me know your thoughts. 74 | Two Creation Stories? | Gen 1:1 | Sctt | 42042
Part3 GEN.2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. The garden of Eden is a place of training or proving ground for man. We can see this in verses 16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. The garden of Eden is much like the garden Jesus was proved in , to see if he would drink of the cup or not. MT26:39..... O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. Therefore we can see that the garden is a place of choices , our own will or that of Gods. Joshua says 24:15 ...choose you this day whom ye will serve..... Now then choose to obey God and live or disobey him and die , which is the punishment for disobedience. Now the garden is not without those that deceive , the world , flesh and the devil. These three work as one to intice man to disobedience to God. Therefore only though obedience can we be made into the image of God. Though obedience we have a river of life flowing from the throne of God , REV.22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. This can also be seen in the four rivers in Eden , Pison , Gihon , Hiddekel and Euphrates. GEN.2:11-14. Now to find the true meaning of these four heads we must look to the meaning of there names in the Hebrew. The first is Pison-increase. The second is Gihon - bursting forth. The third is Hiddekel-rapid. The forth is Euphrates- fruitfulness. So in the river of the water of life we have increase bursting forth rapidly to fruitfulness. What else is this river but the Spirit of God , who enters our life to give increase unto fruitfulness. Obedience is the way to be made into the image of God. Therefore in Christ are we made in the image of God. Christ is the tree of life and the fulfillment of the law. GEN.2:18,21-24 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. This is not the story of how a woman was made , for she was made a living creature in the same day that man was made a living creature , for God made them male and female or they would not be able to bring forth after their own kind. But this is a mystery of Christ and the church EP.5:29-32 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. This is a prophesy of how the church was to be created. Christ was alone in the world with no one of the same nature and God said this was not good , he would give him a help meet to spread the gospel. So God caused a deep sleep to fall upon him , even the death of the cross. Though his death we are now members of his body , of his flesh , and of his bone. We to must die a spiritual or even a natural death that the church of God may be established here on earth. Therefore we can say the church is in fact taken out of Christ. |

75 | Two Creation Stories? | Gen 1:1 | Sctt | 42041
Part 2 GEN.2:7 Since we have shown how that God looked forward to Christ and us in Christ in Ch.1:26-27 we will move on to show how man is to be made in the image of God though Christ. Verse 7 says And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Now this is not a retelling of Ch.1:26-27 for this is speaking of the natural man or the first man Adam. You can see from verse 7 that man was formed of the dust of the ground , that God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 1CO.15:45 explains this to be the first man Adam , And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Now does this sound like he ( Adam) was made in the image of God? No , because 1Co.15:45 places a difference between living soul ( Adam ) and quickening spirit ( Christ ). Therefore verse 7 is speaking of the natural man. Now what else in verse 7 shows this to be the natural man , it says that he was formed of the dust of the ground. Now the word formed comes from the Hebrew word yatsar meaning to squeeze or mold into shape , it has the same meaning as the word potter in JER.18:6. Therefore you can see that we are to be molded as the potter molds the clay , but molded into what? The image of God! and you cannot obtain His image except though Christ. We have in verse 7 the first time the word LORD appears in connection with man. Now we Know that the LORD is in reference to Christ our redeemer and deliverer as seen in IS.53:1-12. So then we can see that man is to be redeemed though Christ. Now how is this natural man to be made into the image of God? First we have to go back to Gen.1:24 to see when the natural man was created. It says And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind , now this living creature is the natural man ( mankind with all the different races ) for the words living creature and living soul have the same meaning , they come from the same Hebrew words chay- living and nephesh - creature , soul. Now the word nephesh has this meaning in the Hebrew , 1) soul, self, life, creature, person, appetite, mind, living being, desire, emotion, passion 1a) that which breathes, the breathing substance or being, soul, the inner being of man 1b) living being 1c) living being (with life in the blood) 1d) the man himself, self, person or individual 1e) seat of the appetites 1f) seat of emotions and passions 1g) activity of mind 1g1) dubious 1h) activity of the will 1h1) dubious 1i) activity of the character 1i1) dubious Taken from Enhanced Strong's Lexicon Therefore you can see by this that the living creature and the living soul are both man. Now it can be argued that animals have all these attributes , this is true and man without God is a brute beast JUDE:8 Therefore the living creature created in GEN.1:24 is mankind. Lets look at the creature in the New Testament MK.16:15 says Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. COL.1:14 says that Jesus is the firstborn of every creature. 2CO.5:17 says Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Read RO.1:1-32 and see what man is like without Christ in his life. Therefore we can see by these scriptures that man was not made in the image of God until Christ came. Now that we now when man was created lets move on to how he is to be made into the image of God. |

76 | Two Creation Stories? | Gen 1:1 | Sctt | 42036
Hi Ray Before I start let me say I beleave that the whole bible from beginning to end preaches Jesus Christ though the Holy Spirit to the glory of God.Amen. All scripture from the KJV. Ray I tried to put my note on this forum but they were to long. so I will have to do this in 3 or 4 parts I hope this is ok. GEN.1:26 Let us make man in our image , after our likeness. The question has to be asked what does God look like if man is to be made in his image? Jn.4:24 says God is a spirit , now we know that a spirit has no material body so how then are we too be made in his image? The image that man is to have is the reflection of God. When God looks at us he must see himself , just as when we look in a mirror and see ourself. This then is the image of God , I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. When God sees this we are in his image. What then can be said about “ after our likeness”? Likeness and image go together , you cannot have one without the other. Likeness is to have Gods nature , and you cannot have Gods image without his nature. Now I must ask you did the first man Adam have Gods image and likeness? If you believe he did then I must ask how then did he sin? We know that God cannot sin and if Adam had all Gods attributes how did he sin? Therefore we must look for one who was made with the image and likeness of God. The man Jesus Christ is the only one who fits the description , and we now though him will be made also into the image and likeness of God. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 1CO.15:45. Therefore we have the first prophecy of the coming of Jesus Christ our Lord “ Let us make man in our image , after our likeness”. GEN.1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Verse 27 shows that God was indeed looking forward to Jesus Christ when he said “ lets make man in our image , after our likeness , for he says he created them male and female and we know that only in Christ Jesus is male and female made one. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. GAL.3:28. Now lets look at male and female separately , you can see a time difference between when they were made. How much time? the bible does not say , but Adam had time to name all the living creatures that God had made before woman was created. This could have been a twenty four hour day , or a month or even years , for God created the living creatures in abundance. Male and female were created in Gods image , but because we can see there is a time difference between when they were created we can see that God was looking ahead when he said male and female created he them. To what time was he looking forward? To the time of the cross of Christ , were male and female will no longer be separated but joined together in Christ. One more thought to show that this is not Adam that God created in his own image , but a looking forward to Jesus Christ that is the fulfillment of the scripture. JN.3:31 , 34-35 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 1CO.15:45-49 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Thank God that in Christ we can now fulfill the scripture in the image of God created he him ; male and female created he them. Therefore we have the first prophecy of man being made into Gods image through Christ Jesus. So we can see that verses 26 and 27 is a prophecy of Christ and us in Christ. |

78 | Two Creation Stories? | Gen 1:1 | Sctt | 42006

79 | Crucified with Christ | Luke 24:45 | Sctt | 42002
Hi Arnie first let look at what crucified with Christ means.A good example is found in Ro.6:3-6 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. So then to be crucified with Christ is to be baptised into his death and resurrection. Now lets look at your question , Are we crucified with Christ at the point of repentance? Yes , but we see in 1Co.3:1-3 that we are to grow in this grace that Jesus bestowed on us. 1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. So then we start out as babes in Christ, but we are to grow into a perfect man , into the stature of the fulness of Christ. Eph.4:13-15 13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. I hope this is the kind of answer you were looking for. God bless, your brother in Christ Scott. |

80 | in the benning godcreatedthe heaven and | Gen 1:1 | Sctt | 41898
Hi Lorna GEN.1:1-2 Right from the opening two verses of the bible we have the Godhead mentioned , God the father , who through his son as seen in Jn.1:3 made the heaven and the earth , and the Spirit of God which is of course the Holy Spirit. The three words form , void and darkness are words used to describe what the earth looked like before God moved upon the face of the waters. Now lets take these two verses and apply them to us. We were made from the dust of the earth , we to were in darkness full of confusion and empty until God the father sent his son Jesus Christ to die for us and inpart the Holy Spirit in us. Now God always works by degrees he could have made the heaven and the earth all at once but he didn’t , he used six days for his creation. This shows us that nothing or no one was ever made perfect all at once for God never works that way , even Jesus Christ was not perfected until he died on the Cross. We as children of God grow by degrees just as Jesus did for he learned as we do by the trials we go through. |
