61 | When will the Temple be rebuilt | Revelation | Listener | 36321
Scopio, Excellent question. Since there is so much debate about the timing of the rapture relative to the tribulation period, let's save that part of the question for last. Regarding the temple: Most would agree that the "abomination of desolation", when the antichrist sets himself up as a god in the temple (2 Thess 2:4) takes place halfway through the seven-year tribulation period (Dan 9:27, 12:11; Matt 24:15). At the same time the offerings will cease to be offered in the temple (Dan 12:11). This would require the temple to be operational up to the middle of the tribulation period. It could be constructed before then, no one knows how long the offerings will be made before they are abolished. Regarding the rapture: In my opinion, 2 Thess 2:1-12 clearly teaches the relationship of the timing of the rapture in verse 1 and the antichrist setting himself up as a god in the temple in verse 4. Please read the passage for yourself and see what conclusion follows from the text. Listener |

62 | How can Caiaphas see Jesus' return? | Rev 1:7 | Listener | 102596
How can the high priest of Matthew 26:64 see Jesus coming in the clouds? See also Rev 1:7 where those who pierced him see him coming with the clouds.
63 | How will Caiaphas see Jesus coming? | Rev 1:7 | Listener | 102622
Thanks, but my question is: Since Caiaphas and those who pierced Jesus are in their graves now, how can they see Him coming in the clouds in glory and power, as Matthew 26:64 and Rev 1:7 indicate?
64 | The unrepentant raised incorruptible? | Rev 1:7 | Listener | 102696
Are you saying that the unrepentant dead will be raised incorruptible? What is the difference between the resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous dead? Luke 20:35 but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; Luke 20:36 for they cannot even die anymore, because they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. John 5:25 Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. John 5:26 For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself; John 5:27 and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is [the] Son of Man. John 5:28 "Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, John 5:29 and will come forth; those who did the good [deeds] to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil [deeds] to a resurrection of judgment. |

65 | 7 men in Revelation, which are you? | Rev 6:15 | Listener | 36423
Does this cover every person on earth - Yes and No. Yes, in that the last two types: bondmen and freemen, divide humanity into two parts. All are either slave or free. No, in that only men are mentioned, not women. Likely the culture in which the passage was written would interpret the terms as inclusive of women - but you did ask. Listener |

66 | When does this take place? | Rev 12:10 | Listener | 47207
Excellent question, Mommapbs! Of course the pre-trib folks will say that this (and virtually all other prophecies) will be fullfilled after the rapture. I don't wish to start another pre/post/pre-wrath debate, but I would like to take a shot at your question. Taking the passage at face value, I'd say that the answer lies within the context of the chapter in question, Revelation 12. The sequence appears to go something like this: 1) Satan cast down. 2) Satan attacks the Jews (which I read as the mother [of Jesus] in the passage) 3) God protects the Jews. 4) Satan attacks the church. My understanding is that these attacks will be through satan's surrogate, the antichrist. It may be that this passage is congruent with Matthew 24:15-21 and Daniel 9:27. That is to say that satan is cast out of heaven during the middle of the tribulation, inhabits the antichrist who sets himself up as god (2 Thess 2:3-4) at the midpoint of the tribulation, at which time he first tries to annihilate the Jews, then the saints. He is allowed to pursue this end for 3.5 years. Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. That the antichrist will persecute the saints for 3.5 years is clear from the following passages: Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months... 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them:... 9 If any man have an ear, let him hear. 10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. Jesus said that this time will be worse than any other in history (Matt 24:21). Imagine being a Jew during the holocaust - this will be worse. Without question. Romans 8:22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time 2 Peter 2:12 ... as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. |

67 | what about the mark of the beast??? | Rev 13:16 | Listener | 36090
Good question. Concerning the location (hand or forehead): The mark will be considered mandantory - no exceptions. Those who do not have a right hand may be compelled to take the mark on their forehead. Everyone has a forehead (at least everyone that I know). No one really knows what form the mark will take, but it will clearly represent allegiance to the antichrist. I don't know that it really matters what form it takes, but I think the following ideas are clearly tought: 1) It is considered mandantory. 2) It clearly signifies allegience to antichrist. 3) It allienates one against God. Many say that salvation is not possible for those who take the mark. Rev 14:9-12 Does Matthew 5:30 Apply here? And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 68 | Which war is this? | Rev 20:8 | Listener | 47211
This is a good question. This war is clearly after the 1000 year reign of Christ, as the context shows (v. 7). It is my understanding that Armageddon happens just prior to the millenium, when Christ returns to rapture believers, then pour out His wrath upon the wicked. I do not know that this battle in Rev 20:8 has a name. Although I am very interested in prophecy, I am not at all sure that we have a clear understanding of which prophecies apply to the return of Christ and which apply to the passage you referenced. Most would say that Ezekiel 38-39 will be fulfilled prior to the millenium. Events in 39:9-12 (burning weapons for fuel for seven years, burying the dead for seven months) would seem to indicate that this occurs before the eternal state which will follow the millenium. But the references to Gog and Magog seem to parallel Rev 20:8 which is clearly at the end of the millenium (Rev 20:7). The passage in Ezekiel also ties in with many other "day of the Lord" passages (ie. Joel 2). One possible way to reconcile the apparent name/timing conflict is that Gog is a fallen angel. Angels can be associated with nations (Dan 10:12-13, Dan 10:20-21). I wish I could give you a staightforward, definite answer. My gut feeling though, is that the relationship between the return of Jesus, "the day of the Lord", Armageddon and the rebellion at the end of the millenium is more complex or at least different than we now expect. Perhaps we are somewhat like the Jewish believers before Jesus came, who may have been unable to reconcile the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53 with the king on David's throne of Isaiah 9:7. Notwithstanding all that, Jesus is comming back. It will be the best thing that could happen, and at the worst time in time in the history of the world. Isaiah 40:4 Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth; 5The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken." Come quickly, Lord Jesus. |

This also is not an answer to your question. Mommapbs - I didn't know how else to contact you - can you do me a favor? If it is convenient please read my responce to "are women not allowed to be preachers" and give me a reality/scripture check. I value your opinion. Thanks, Listener |
