61 | Did Enoch die? | Heb 11:13 | 00123 | 232487
Who are "these people" who all died in the verse? Do they cover all the heroes in faith mentioned from v. 1 to v. 12? Thus, do they include Enoch? Note that V.5 reads "Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found." To my knowledge, it has been a traditional interpretation to conclude that Enoch (his body and soul together) went to God in heaven, skipping death. |

62 | Which God appeared and talked to Abram? | Gen 17:1 | 00123 | 232470
Who was the LORD (the Almighty God) to whom this verse refers? Is He God the Father, God the Son, or God the Holy Spirit? Which God appeared and talked to Abram?
63 | Enoch and Elijah didn't see God yet? | John 3:13 | 00123 | 232469
Dear bothers and sisters, (John 3:13 ESV) No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. This verse clearly says only Jesus went up to the heaven. So, Enoch and Elijah didn't. But many people argue they indeed did. Then, look at the following verse: (John 1:18 ESV) No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known. If Enoch and Elijah ascended into the heaven, how come did they not see God? Three possibilities: (1) Enoch and Elijah didn't ascend into the heaven. (2) Enoch and Elijah did ascend into the heaven, but the heaven is a different heaven from the heaven where God resides. (3) Enoch and Elijah did ascend into the heaven, but they were not allowed to see God until the Resurrection Day. Which one of the above (or any other answer) is correct? Please help my understanding. God bless. Daniel |

64 | Current Location of Dead Christians | 2 Cor 5:10 | 00123 | 230518
2 Cor 5:10 says "We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ." "All" in that verse refers to both dead and living people. My question is where the dead people, especially believers, wait before appearing the judgment seat of Christ? Verse 8 reads, "We would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord." Does this verse imply that when we die we immediately fly to the Heaven where our Lord dwells? If so, why do they need any resurrection? But the Bible says, "Each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:23). This verse implies the dead Christians are not yet with the Lord because they must wait for their resurrection. Note that Jesus, until resurrected, didn't go to God the Father yet. In conclusion, when we die, where are we going? Is it wrong to say that in a funeral the dead person is already in the heaven?

67 | Any other verses on Going to Heaven? | 2 Cor 5:8 | 00123 | 227012
Well, Acts 7:59 you cited "Lord Jesus receive my spirit" was the same as what Jesus said on cross, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!" And Jesus went to Paradise with one of the two on the cross. But the Paradise in that context cannot be Heaven because right after His resurrection Jesus said, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father." In addition, does Philippians 1:21-26 you cited apply to "every" good Christian or just Paul? Paul went to the third heaven (where probably God lives; 2 Corinthians 12:2) and it was an experience only Paul was allowed to have in the Bible, except for Enoch and Elijah. So, my question is, are there any other Bible verses that support that when good believers die their souls go to heaven, not wait for resurrection somewhere staying on the earth (like Paradise where Jesus went)? |

68 | The dead goes to heaven or sleeps? | Not Specified | 00123 | 226979
In the funeral, pastor usually says that the dead went to the heaven. What is the biblical basis of this argument? Isn't the Bible saying that the dead sleeps, waiting for resurrection, which takes place at Christ's coming?

70 | Where is the Kingdom of Heaven? | Matt 3:2 | 00123 | 226871
Where is the Kingdom of Heaven? (Question 1) Did Jesus refer to the heaven where our heavenly father resides or the new earth that is the changed form of the current earth? (Question 2) By the way, in a Christian funeral, we say the dead person is with the Lord now. If that is the case, why does the Bible say the dead are asleep, waiting for resurrection? If s/he is already with the Lord, why does s/he need any resurrection? Thank you for your answers in advance.
71 | Why John, not Jesus' borthers? | John 19:27 | 00123 | 226691

72 | Who is the man who buys the treasure? | Matt 13:44 | 00123 | 225871
What is the treasure and who is the man? if the treasure is the Kingdom of Heaven (is it?), can we say the man who sacrifices everything is our Lord rather than we? The reason I am thinking that way is we didn't pay anything but faith and confession to enter the Kingdom, but the Lord did. For example, “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isaiah 55:1 ESV). We just go and receive the Kingdom as a gift of grace. No "work" of "price" of our own is involved for us to be a citizen of the Kingdom. |

74 | Paradise and the Kingdom of Heaven | 2 Cor 12:4 | 00123 | 225553
Two questions. (1) Is this Paradise the same as both ones in Luke 23:43 (And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.") and Rev 2:7 ('He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.')? (2) Is the Paradise the same as the Kingdom of Heaven? Thank you. God bless!
75 | Two Kingdoms of God in separate times | Rev 11:15 | 00123 | 225543
Do we have two kingdoms of God: the Kingdom of our Lord (God the Father) and the Kingdom of His Christ (God the Son)? In other words, do we have one kingdom first and the other next in time?
76 | Moses appeared from where? | Matt 17:3 | 00123 | 225373
Dear drbloor, The more important question I raised was whether or not Moses and Elijah were real. By the word "real," I mean these two men were themselves (historical Moses and Elijah as documented in the Bible). In visions in other places of the Bible, an angel, a man, or the Lord Himself appeared in a dream. In each time, the angel was the real angel, the man was the real man, and the Lord was the true living Lord. So, in your interpretation, were Moses and Elijah real? Note that they talked with Jesus. Another point: Jesus transfigured, which means Jesus became a different person. If that situation was a mere vision, don't we expect two figures of Jesus: one is a real one and the other is in the vision? Pursuing the truth, 00123
77 | Moses appeared from where? | Matt 17:3 | 00123 | 225363
I see your point. Thanks for bringing the Greek word to understand the verse correctly. Okay, the vision of Matt 17:3 refers to "having seen" Moses and Elijah. However, these two prophets conversed with Jesus (:3, Behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him). Then, who are they? Are they just a manipulated illusion Jesus produced to the eyes of the disciples or are they real with their own intelligence and personality?
78 | Moses appeared from where? | Matt 17:3 | 00123 | 225361
Excuse me, but the word "vision" is just "what they had seen." So, Moses and Elijah showed up in reality. See mark 9:9, "as they were coming down the mountain, he (Jesus) charged them to tell no one what they had seen." So, the vision was real, not an illusion at all.
79 | Paradise is Heaven? Would you clarify? | Luke 16:22 | 00123 | 225357
Therefore, can we say the Paradise where Jesus went together with the thief on the cross was not the Heaven?
80 | Paradise is Heaven? Would you clarify? | Luke 16:22 | 00123 | 225355
BradK, Are you saying the Paradise is the Heaven? If so, I'm confused. After resurrected, Jesus said, "Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’" (John 20:17). But he went to the Paradise right after his death until the resurrection. Then, it seems clear that the Paradise cannot be the Heaven where God our Father lives. 00123 |
