64 | where do people go when they die | 1 Thess 4:16 | punkiedo | 112532
Can you see your soul? NO! Your flesh returns to dust your soul is invisible and therefore cannot die. Can you see the wind? Can you see God? NO! Can they die? NO! Can you see the devil? NO! Can he die? NO! The spiritual cannot die. Now there have been times in the bible where the WORD soul has been used to describe a person. Such as "the soul that sinneth dies" or another translation says "the person who sins will die". The soul itself cannot die. It is eternal. Immortal. It is a piece of God sort of speak. When God was talking to Adam he was speaking of a physical death. Yon know what though, this is my last post to you, because you are REALLY trying to argue which I really don't care to do. IF YOU STILL HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WHAT I HAVE SAID TAKE IT TO GOD. ASK GOD ABOUT IT. I have given the best answer I could and you still attempt to get a "rise" out of me. READ THE BIBLE. |

65 | woman deacon? | 1 Timothy | punkiedo | 112443
I have something to say. First of all the bible says the woman is not to USURP or TAKE or DEMAND authority. It does not say she could not have it. During the time that the scripture about keeping silent in church was written was a difficult time for the church age. They had "heathens" coming in. Let me put it this way, have you ever had people come into your church that have NEVER been to church. I have. And they were loud and talked during church and we had to do a "Church Ettiquette" course for them. That is similar to what Paul was doing for Timothy. So If we are going to take 1Timothy and say that women cannot teach/preach/be a deacon whatever lets look at 1Timothy Same chapter 2:9 This tells me that women should not have braided hair or wear jewlry? Is that true? Is that Literal? You see there is also a scripture that says this: Galatians 3 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Did you know that the famous Aquilla and Priscilla according to church history Priscilla was a preacher/teacher And this same Paul that said women are not to USURP (TAKE, DEMAND) authority said this about Priscilla: Romans 16 2 That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: (Also Notice her name was mentioned BEFORE her husband.) Also 2 John. READ THE OPENNING VERSES!!!! Matthew Henry's commentary says this: HERE we find a canonical epistle inscribed, principally, not only to a single person, but to one also of the softer sex. And why not to one of that sex? In gospel redemption, privilege, and dignity, there is neither male nor female; they are both one in Christ Jesus. It was to one of the same sex that our Lord chose to appear first after his return from the grave, and to send by her the news of his resurrection to this as well as to the other apostles; and we find afterwards a zealous Priscilla so well acquitting herself in her Christian race, and particularly in some hazardous service towards the apostle Paul, that she is not only often mentioned before her husband, but to her as well as to him, not only the apostle himself, but also all the Gentile churches, were ready to return their thankful acknowledgments. |

66 | where do people go when they die | 1 Thess 4:16 | punkiedo | 112390
This WHOLE passage and the next: Do you believe that you will inherit God's kingdom? Luke 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: Luke 16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, Luke 16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. Luke 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Luke 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. Luke 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. Luke 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Luke 16:27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: Luke 16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Luke 16:29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. Luke 16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. If you believe you will inherit God's Kingdom then... 1 Cor 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 1 Cor 15:51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 1 Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Cor 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. Rom 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; Rom 2:10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: Rom 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God. Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. Luke 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? Luke 12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. Luke 12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. Luke 12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Basically with this verse I am saying look this is my opinnion if you don't agree with it, come up with more than one scripture to back you up. 2 Cor 13:1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. The next thing I will tell you is this verse. Honestly I don't care how I get to heaven just that I do ok? I kind of feel like you are trying to argue, and I am not for that. So if this doesn't answer your question you need to search the word for YOURSELF 2Tim 2:15 Study to show THYSELF approved unto God. (emphasis added). 1 Cor 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1 Cor 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 1 Cor 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. God Bless |

67 | where do people go when they die | 1 Thess 4:16 | punkiedo | 112333
His physical body turned to dust, not his soul. Your soul is invisible so it cannot return to dust because it never was dust. We have a soul because God breathed the breath of life into us, we are the only creature he did that for. So in essence we are a part of him. Our soul. That is why people who are not in the church feel like there is that empty place or that something is missing from their lives. Because their soul is empty sort of speak. When Jesus comes in your soul is full. Full of Jesus. That is also why there is an outward change and people notice. When you go from being just the everyday average sinner to living a holy lifestyle, people see it. And believe it or not they want it. Anyways hope this helps. The soul is eternal it can not die. Therefore it cannot return to dust. Our bodies can though. We are nothing more than glorified mudballs hehe!!

69 | Center of my Life? | Ps 118:8 | punkiedo | 112117
Hey Terrib, just a note it seems that anyone who says they are Pentecostal In this forum continually gets attacked. (Read my profile) Just wanted to let you know I like your comment. I always thought that was neat! I have never actually tried to see if it was right or wrong though, but whether it is or not that is a wonderful scripture that EVERYONE should live by.
70 | Where the Scriptual proof? | Mark 16:16 | punkiedo | 111576
My note was nothing more than a follow up to what (justme) said about people being like parrots. A. We had both provided scripture for you and you still demand scripture as if we never gave them B. Name calling started with the whole parrot statement, C. I was merely making a statement at how stubborn and unmovable people become even when they are given even AMPLE scripture, And finally I do ask you to forgive me if I offended you, however I take offense that it is OKAY for others to call names (which I was not doing I was making a comparrison), but it is not okay for the "holy roller". I agree that I did come accross a little strong, and I apologize for that. |

73 | Isn't baptism needed for salvation? | Mark 16:16 | punkiedo | 111184
The thief on the cross was the last person saved under the old law and Jesus was his sacrifice for his sin. Jesus didn't say that until after his ressurection. So until Jesus died, the new covenant was not in effect until after Jesus "Gave up the Ghost" and rose from the grave. Jesus was the sacrifice for the thief's sin and like I said he was the last one saved under the law that said we had to have a blood sacrifice for remission of sin. So it is awesom to think that in essence his sin was just rolled to the cross next to him. instead of being rolled forward 1 year Jesus paid the ultimate price not just for him but for all of us, because of Jesus we no longer have to have a ram or sheep or dove to kill to roll our sins forward we can just go to him and ask him for forgiveness. God is good!!!
74 | A bit confused regarding tongues | 1 Cor 14:22 | punkiedo | 109168
First of all Hank, You should be very careful about what you say about the Holy Ghost (Mark 3:29). On the other hand I am not sure that you can blaspheme the Holy Ghost without actually having the Holy Ghost. Secondly, the word of God does not say it is a KNOWN language. It is a heavenly language Hank. The apostles in Acts 2 were in one accord and they all spoke the EXACT same thing in tongues. Yet all of the people understood what they were saying. It is my belief they were speaking in the heavenly language and God opened the understanding of those that were listening. How eles could the apostles be speaking ONE thing in one accord (unison) and every man understand? IT IS GOD!! There were like 50 different languages there. Thirdly, the bible says in the last days perilous times will come and that there will be people who have a form of Godliness but deny the power and to turn away from such. (1 tim 3:5) And it says they will be EVER LEARNING but NEVER coming to the knowledge of the truth. (1tim 3:7) I feel like that is the way that some people in this study forum are. Always learning, and asking things that prolly never would have crossed my mind, but are unable to come to the knowledge of the truth. All I ask of the people in this forum is RATHER than blast a doctrine, find out about it's biblical roots. Rather than "cast stones" please ask me. My dad use to say people who live in glass houses should not cast stones. I could find plenty wrong with MOST of what is said in this forum. 60percent of it is OPINION or someone thinking they have a secret interpretation and not bible (1peter 1:20). The Holy Ghost is my power. It is my Helmet of Salvation. I know it is real. So you can live in the dream land that you are right all you want to. You have no biblical foundation. When someone finally shakes you out of that dream world, you will see the truth. And my dad has always had this saying "You have the right to be wrong." Natasha |

75 | A bit confused regarding tongues | 1 Cor 14:22 | punkiedo | 109096
The holy ghost speaking in tongues as in the holy ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Acts 2:1-4 (Acts 2:38-39 the promise of the holy ghost) Acts 2:33 (the Holy Ghost you see and HEAR!!) Acts 8:12-20 (The Holy Ghost was always made manifest with speaking in tongues.) Acts 10:44-46 (the gift of the holy ghost was evident the bible says because they HEARD them speak with tongues) Romans 8:16 (the spirit bears witness that we are children of God) 1 Corinthians 14:18 (Paul said he speaks in tongues more than all) 1 Corinthians 14 CEV (Usually I use the KJV, however I thought it was interesting contemporary English version says UNKNOWN Languages.) 21In the Scriptures the Lord says,"I will use strangers who speak UNKNOWN languages to talk to my people. They will speak to them in foreign languages, but still my people won't listen to me." |

76 | A bit confused regarding tongues | 1 Cor 14:22 | punkiedo | 109089
Once again you guys blast us without knowing facts. There is acording to the word of God a GIFT of tongues, which we "pentecostals" refer to as tongues and interpretation. And then there is the gift of the Holy Ghost with evidence speaking in tongues. In 1 Corinthians they he is speaking of the GIFT of tongues (tongues and interpretation) In the Book of Acts it was The HOLY GHOST SPEAKING IN TONGUES. PLEASE rather than just jumping to assumptions ASK. I would be HAPPY to tell you what I believe
77 | Why not Baptize as Jesus said to? | Acts 19:5 | punkiedo | 108553
You know Steve there comes a time when you are casting your pearls before swine. And I am not by any means calling you this but, it is the way that I feel. I have talked to my pastor (my dad) and he agrees. So, you believe whatever you want to believe Steve. But I have provided enough scripture to show you otherwise and like I said before, if you choose to remain in darkness that is your choice as you and taleb both seem to feel the same way. As for me, I choose to be in the light. The light of truth. You can argue all day and you can scream that it is not right, but when it comes down to it, the word of God stands. And your doctrine is not bible based as I have proven over and over again. So on that note please drop the issue and let's agree to disagree ok?
78 | Why not Baptize as Jesus said to? | Acts 19:5 | punkiedo | 108456
Jesus was baptized to "fulfill" Greek pleroo, play-ro'-o; from to make replete, i.e. (lit.) to cram (a net), level up (a hollow), or (fig.) to furnish (or imbue, diffuse, influence), satisfy, execute (an office), finish (a period or task), verify (or coincide with a prediction), etc.:--accomplish, X after, (be) complete, end, expire, fill (up), fulfil, (be, make) full (come), fully preach, perfect, supply.all righteousness. He was our example. We have to REPENT BE BAPTIZED then FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST. So..On that note. IF you read my response to Taleb, hopefully that will help as, I feel as though I have rested my case. John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. If you chose to remain in darkness, that is your choice as I don't feel like I am getting anywhere with you or Taleb. So I am moving on to people who actually want help not those who are looking for a fight. I have defended my faith and feel confident that God is going to do miraculous things through this. So, Good luck on your search Steve, I pray God opens your eyes and mind so he can teach you. Case RESTED |

79 | Why not Baptize as Jesus said to? | Acts 19:5 | punkiedo | 108452
Taleb, I apologize for not responding in a timely maner as I have not been feeling well since Sunday. I do have an answer for you. First of all I would like to write you a check for 50,000,000.00. And I am going to sign it Grandaughter, daughter, and sister. According to your belief the bank should cash it for you because I have signed what I am, but that's not the case is it??? That is not my name those are titles. Secondly, you and your wife are 1 person? Interesting. So she can sign your name anytime she feels like it? Or you can sign her name? hmm...you are still 2 people. Jesus said I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE. then followed it up by saying he came in his fathers name and even took it a step farther when he said the comforter (being the holy ghost) would be sent in HIS NAME. JESUS IS THE FATHER AND THE SON AND THE HOLY GHOST. Isa 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Isa 48:11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. Why would God allow someone else to have his glory?Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. In other words no matter what I say or do you will never know the truth unless God reveals it to you. And John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. So I will pray for the divine revelation to you and all on this website. Jesus is God. And my final PROOF. Isa 52:10 The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. Isa 43:12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have showed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God. Isa 43:13 Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it? Hosea 13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 2 Pet 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 1 John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Jesus Was called the SAVIOUR of the world. And God said beside me there is no saviour. When we first began this discussion you people said there was three different beings. Then you say there is one but three. Well Jesus is God. I heard it explained in a wonderful way he was the father in creation, the son in redemption and the holy ghost in regeneration. Jesus is the ONE TRUE AND ONLY GOD. Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: So on that note, my friends, I REST MY CASE. If you still have a problem with it take it to the creator. The one true living God whose name is JESUS. BTW Taleb that scripture Phil 2:6 Who, being in the form (Greek definitiion form- morph or nature)of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Phil 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form (Greek definitiion form- morph or nature)of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Phil 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Phil 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Phil 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; Phil 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord(Greek definition- Lord-Theos- GOD), to the glory of God the Father. If you chose to remain in darkness, that is up to you. I have done all that I can to show you. The bible says that God has to reveal it. So...Good luck. |

80 | Why not Baptize as Jesus said to? | Acts 19:5 | punkiedo | 108147
Steve, I have come to the conclusion that some people enjoy believing the same thing they have always been taught. As we learned today in church that when you begin to disprove something that people have believed for a long time, alot of them don't like it. Furthermore Steve, it does not say that anyone else saw it. And why on God's earth would Peter tell us to be baptized in the name of Jesus? AND why would EVERYONE who was baptized be BAPTIZED in Jesus name? You're Doctrine is the one with holes not mine. I know who the father is I know who the son is and I know who the Holy Ghost is. IT IS JESUS. In James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. There is One God, not three. If you don't believe that then the bible says one day every knee will bow and you know this verse says he was given a name above every name. Why would "the father" exalt his "son" above himself???? or above the "Holy Ghost"?????? COME ON!!!!!!!!! Jesus loves you Steve, and I hope you can get beyond where you are and see the truth.
