61 | What does "being a homosexual" mean? | Rom 1:19 | Asis | 91811
Well said Megiddo We are told to judge the sin not the sinner. I can abhor the idea of practising homosexuality yet have compassion on those who think they trapped in that behavior. We must be careful when we judge because we set the parameters of our own judgement by how and why we judge. We are told that no man knows the things of a man (1 Cor 2:11), which tells us we do not know the heart of another except by the Spirit of God. Those of us who struggle with beleiving God, that we are dead to a particular sin and desire to put it away, yet have not reached that point of breaking relations with it, repent each time we find ouselves inexplicably back in the sin (i.e. pornography, alcoholism, drug addiction perscription and ilicit, gossip, lust, etc.). Our heart is to give it all up yet we seem to not be able to control ourselves. . . Are we as disciples of Jesus to condemn those who struggle. Were we condemned when we first believed and sinned or did we find that when we first believed we sinned no more. Are not those who profess Jesus and have a heart towards God God's business? not ours. Can we afford to judge them? I think not. We are to be in Christ. It is Christ who lives in us not us. We are to love as He loved, Have compassion as He had compassion, Heal those who He would heal? Are those homosexuals around us seeing the love of Christ in our lives, especially in how we relate to them? The bigger question is, "Are we taking in what the Bible says about our behavior and our relationship with God (the spirit of the word) or are we merely making a list of behaviors we must follow (the letter of the word) to be in right standing with God?" Just look at David. Are any of us any different? Enough. . . I step off the soap box. NEXXXT GENTLEMAN or GENTLEWOMAN. Asis |

Radioman2 We must always be watchful of what man says about the Bible whether a Dakes or a NIV study bible or a Ryrie. Man's part is just that. Man's interpretation of what the Scriptures mean. Just like your writing and mine. We must let the Holy Spirit instruct us as to the truth of Scripture. Not someone who can write pretty. Beware of all that is written by man. Asis |

64 | What did Jesus mean by this | Mark 9:23 | Asis | 91648
The faith that we have comes from us. Then when we believe it comes from Jesus. What about Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. [KJV] Do you think the faith that Jesus saw in those people whose infirmities he healed was faith given them by God? Peter call Jesus the Messiah and Jesus said that knowledge came from God not man. Couldn't God have given those who believed that Jesus was the Messiah the faith required to believe He could heal the diseases? Now that we believe God, when we hear the word faith comes and we appropriate it. We make part of us and call it my faith. Are we not also to be established in righteousness given us just because we believe God (Romans 3:21-22) Isaiah 54:14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. [KJV] Jesus told us to have the "God kind of faith" Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. [KJV] Literally, "Have the faith of God." Such is possible or it would not be a command. Man was created with God's faith but doubt entered in at the fall (Genesis 3:1-7). Faith is restored in the new birth and if normally exercised and maintained it will grow to fullness and power (Romans 1:5,17; Romans 10:17; Galatians 2:20; Col. 1:23; Col. 2:6-7; 2 Thes. 1:3; 2 Peter 1:1-5). Ken Why would God honor a faith that comes from our "Old Man" to bring into exixtance our new nature when He says in Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. [KJV] Doesn't this verse tell us if it is of our making then it is like filthy rags to God? Asis |

PastorFloyd it is good to see that someone else is reading What God is telling His people instead of concentrating on just words. God has given us a picture of people's walk with Him in Exodus. He led the children of Israel through the wilderness by a pillar of fire by night and one of smoke by day. I am sure that as God had them stay in one place for a time and then the pillar started to move that some of them decided to stay where they were because they were familiar with the terrain. Imagine them watching as God moved away from them. How good they felt in the comfort zone. Until they realized that they had let themselves be removed from the presence of God. I know this is just a thought something contrary to some on the forum, but sometimes I just wonder. Anyway God led them around the desert until all those who had unbelief had died. Them He led the remainder into the Promised Land (I wonder what that represents). They crossed the Jordan river and the pillars ceased. Now they had to walk by faith and not by sight. They believed Numbers 23:19 as we do. They had chosen life not death. Pastor, remember Romans 3:3-4 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? [4] God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. [KJV] I believe if God said it, it is so. We should take the Bible at face value. All that God has done is for now not when we get to heaven. Power in the Holy Ghost is for now. The gifts of the Spirit are for now. The fruit of the Spirit is for us now. Abundant life is for us now. I wonder what abundant life means. It must mean I must suffer abundantly. Yeah that is what my Father who gives better gifts than us wants for our lives. To think that all this started with someone wanting to know what being overcome by the power of God meant. John 18:4-7 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? [5] They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. [6] As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground. [7] Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. [KJV] Rev. 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [KJV] Fell back and down by the power of Jesus words. Fell down AS DEAD. Hmmph I wonder if that is the same as . . . no it couldn't be. Pastor Floyd take heart there are those who believe all things are possible to those who believe God. A great many of us. Yours in Christ Jeff |

68 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | Asis | 89423
Hello Hank. I hope this note finds you well. There are those who see Jesus and look to Him for what He can do for them. They recognize that He is the Son of God and even believe in their heart that He died for them and rose after three days and now sits at the right hand of the Father but that is as far as it goes. Albiet that is pretty far but it is not what Jesus wants from us. They recognize Him but have no relationship with Him. Jesus did not proclaim the mysteries of God to the followers. He did reveal them to those who are close to Him. Matt. 13:10 through Matt. 13:12 (ASV) 10And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11And he answered and said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath. The multitudes followed and heard parables but the disciples heard the deep things of God, even to the extent that some were so hard to grasp that they left Him to walk with Him no more. There is a difference between those who follow Jesus and those who walk with Him. Does this answer your query? Have I made my statement clear? Do you need more detail? Am I off base? Matt. 4:25 (KJV) 25And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan. Matt. 8:1 (KJV) 1When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Matt. 8:10 (KJV) 10When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. Matt. 12:15 (KJV) 15But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; Matt. 19:27 through Matt. 19:30 (KJV) 27Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? 28And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. 30But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first. Mark 6:1 (KJV) 1And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. John 6:60 through John 6:66 (KJV) 60Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? 62What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 64But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 65And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. 66From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Matt. 8:23 (KJV) 23And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. |

Graceful: How does Ephes. 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; [KJV] fit in what you are discussing. We all have a obligation to seek the truth through study of God's word. If we desire to be disciles and not just followers of Christ, it absolutely necessary that we study. I think that the gifts of Jesus, the apostle, the prophet, the evangelist, the pastor and the teacher, are necessary to bring us from follower to disciple. Ephes. 4:12-15 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: [13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: [14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; [15] But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: [KJV] Thank you Lord Jesus. 71 | Still an adulteress if I marry again? | Rom 3:22 | Asis | 88208
Did God make you wait to get forgiveness when you asked Jesus to be Lord of your life? How long did you have to wait, a day, a week, one year, two, are you still waiting. Being forgiven and having consequences for our actions are two different things. I don't know about you but when I believed I became the righteousness of God (Rom. 3:21-22). If my sins were not forgiven how could God say I am His righteousness because I believe. As a matter of fact If He says it, it must be. Ps. 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. [KJV] What does this verse mean? Does "Selah" mean in the future or later? As far as God forgetting my sins consider these scriptures. Jer. 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. [KJV] Heb. 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. [KJV] Heb. 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. [KJV] They seem pretty clear to me. We do have consequences for our actions. A murderer will be forgiven by God but may still be executed by the State. There are always consequences for our actions. Let's consider what Jesus said concerning adultery and an adultress. First the woman caught in adultery. Which are you, Jesus or the men He is talking with? John 8:1-11 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. [2] And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. [3] And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, [4] They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. [5] Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? [6] This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. [7] So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. [8] And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. [9] And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. [10] When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? [11] She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. [KJV] "Is thinking lustfully the same as taking the next step and do as David did? " You say NO. Jesus says: Matthew 5:27-32 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: [28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. [29] And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. [30] And if thy right hand offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. [31] It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: [32] But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. [KJV] Jesus says YES. As far as I know the only unpardonable sin is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. If in my heart I truly repent of any sin except the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit God forgives me. Who am I NOT to forgive sin that God has forgiven. Matthew 18:21-22 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? [22] Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. [KJV] But not You? I don't think so. Forgiveness is a matter of the heart. It is between the one who has sinned and God. He knows the heart of a man not us. As for me, I will follow my Master and do my utmost to live and act as He lived. I cannot say the the writer of the original post is condemned by God is she has repented from a true heart. (Romans 8:1) If this is the condition of her heart then who am I to condemn. |

It is a fact that Adam sinned and set us all on a course of iniquity. The question I read is "Can a BELIEVER sin?" A believer as I understand the word is on who is a follower and disciple of the Lord Jesus. The answer to the question about a believer is They only sin because they want to. We are dead to sin. Do you think that the scroll of Isaiah Jesus was handed in the synagogue was written in Greek? I find it hard to believe that the Jews who would not associate with the gentile except for business purposes talked in greek as their common speach. But if it is so it is so. Having been brought up with the almost paranoid fear of being assimilated into the culture in which I lived and losing my Jewishness I wonder if it was different then.

So the common language of the disciples, Jews in Israel was Greek. Matthew and Mark and John were written in Greek? John 13:34 through John 13:35 (NASB) 34“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35“By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Eph. 4:29 through Eph. 4:32 (NASB) 29Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. 30Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. EdB I receive what you say. I do not want to learn anything except what God has done and is doing in my life. This forum is a place where the truth is to be spread about. I guess I have a problem when I perceive a campaign to discredit an individual or a group of individuals by one sided commentary. It just goes against my grain when someone is accused by inuendo and is not able to confront their accuser. It reminds me of Rush Limbo (misspelling on purpose)when a caller would start to get an idea across to the audience and He would attack the caller personally. Not on the merits of the argument. It must be the fact that I have been the brunt of this kind of persecution. Antisemetism is still rampant and sometimes I see the same tactics being used on others with contrary beliefs. There are things that Baptists believe the are not correct, Catholics, Jews, Methodists, Anglicans and on and on. But we don't berate their leaders we quote scripture and guide them to ask God to reveal His truth. There is a string from two years ago titled "Caution: Hinn, Meyer, etc." it is seen when this string is viewed. Notice that Meyer is included in the title yet there is not one quote from Meyer in the the text. This is the type of thing I call out. Guilt by association is a propaganda tactic. This is NOT what the Forum is about. Watch out I think I'm about to wave the flag. We must be careful of what we say. Babies are listening. God is true to His word. A person with Jesus as Lord of their life, is walking in wealth and life abundantly no matter what the world perceives. I can own nothing yet be rich with all my needs supplied by my Father who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. Praise God. Loving Him and having the faith of God is what is important. May you have the peace, the shalom, of God in your life nothing missing, nothing broken. Jeff |

You said "Yes I think I know the doctrine well enough to discuss it, but I don't think you want to with me." That is why. Since I can't enumerate the doctrine of Word of Faith I can't say I am a proponent of their doctrine. I am a believer in the word of God. If He says I have life and life more abundantly then I believe Him. I profess the truth in my life and if that means to profess the word of God then that is what I do. His word says I am His righteousness because I believe Him then I am (Rom 3:22). That righteousness came through faith in Jesus Christ. I have that faith. His word says I am a partaker in the divine nature then I am (1 Pet 1:4. I believe that what God says He does (Numbers 23:19). If God says I am healed then I am. I believe we should engage in discourse with love, livng and talking the truth. I do not like propaganda tactics and will call anyone out when they use them. The truth needs no defending it needs telling. Religion is a tool of the enemy to keep the truth from us. I am a member of Brighton Assembly of God. I agree with their doctine in so far as it is not hamstrung with religion (i.e. baptism in the Holy Spirit with the only evidence speaking in tongues). When our faith is in teachers instead of THE TEACHER then we have trouble. We are diciples of Jesus not teachers or preachers. I am pleased to hear that you are binding up the broken hearted. I know that when religion gets taught people get hurt. I agree that our faith is to be in God and not in Faith. God cries out to us to believe. He does it with every sunrise and sunset. The stars in the sky shout down to us HE IS REAL. We should answer the lies with the truth. God will do the rest. Why do you feel that I would not want to discuss doctrine with you. You have already taught me that Paul named names. God reveals to His people the mysteries that are contained within His word. He did not make it so complicated that only a few can understand it and the rest must rely on them to understand it. God made His word simple. We make it complicated. Fill yourself with His word and He will renew your mind. Believe what He has said and His truth will set you free. 1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. No. You come to my house because you have heard about what is happening there and you want to partake. You have chosen to come all by yourself. Just because I know your coming does not nulify your free choice to come. This is the answer to what you wrote "Does God's already knowing our choice mean we haven't freely chosen?" In my analogy I already know the choice you have made yet YOU still made the choice of your own free will. SEE? The other is about election and chosen. Which is used in connection with predestination. Ask yourself this "Would God go through all this if it was already set what would happen. I mean in the individual sense. |
