61 | How do you achive Santification | 2 Thess 2:13 | Praise Be To God | 135866
The Holy Spirit sanctifies you, you don't sanctify yourself. You abstain from sin, and the Holy Spirit sanctifies you and makes you holy. Be ye holy for I am holy, saith the Lord. Janae |

62 | claiming things in your life | Is 53:5 | Praise Be To God | 135852
Some people believe that we receive what we speak, so are careful in choosing the words they use so they do not claim things into their lives which would harm them. For example, to say that one has a disease instead of claiming that they are and were healed at Calvary, and claiming that healing into their life. Janae |

63 | Why did Adam eat the apple too? | Gen 3:6 | Praise Be To God | 135601
Gen. 3:17: "And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of they life." The Word of God says it is because he hearkened unto the voice of his wife. Praise Be To God! Janae |

64 | Is inter cultural marriage advisable? | 2 Cor 6:14 | Praise Be To God | 133224
Hello. God told the Children of Israel not to intermarry because He knew they would be led away by their idols. In fact, God forbade intermarriage with the other peoples. But, did Israel obey? Time and again, they disobeyed and time and again, they were led away from God to worship the idols of that nation. And time and again, they came back to God, only to be led away again. God never changes. He is the same today and forever. He wants us to marry Believers: In I Corinthians 7:8-16, Paul gives us some insight into what God wants for us, but Paul is speaking to Believers: "I say therefore, to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry, for it is better to marry than to burn. And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now they are holy. But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases; but God hath called us to peace. For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband: or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife? But as God has distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches." So, if we are already married, but one becomes saved and the other does not, you are not to leave the unsaved partner, for the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now they are holy. But, we are not to marry an unbeliever if we are a believer. 2 Corinthians 6:14 (above) makes that very plain: "Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?" But, there is nowhere in the Bible which says we are not to intermarry culturally, as long as that person is a Believer. That is the key. Ruth was from Moab, but she followed Naomi's God, and was King David's Great-grandmother, and in the earthly lineage of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Blessings to you. Janae. |

65 | Can unbelievers pray to God? | Matt 5:45 | Praise Be To God | 133174
The answer is Yes! For God is Perfect. He maketh it to rain on the just and the unjust. (See scripture above). I can testify to this, because before I was saved, and while I was living a very unholy life of which I am not proud, our lease was up on the house we lived in and the owners asked us to vacate. We had one week. I got down on my knees in one of the rooms of our home and prayed earnestly to God and asked Him to find us a place to live. That very next week we were all moved into a beautiful home in a small town nearby, where some Christians that my husband worked with, lived. God had moved on my request and had found us a home and Christian friends to go with it! Praise Be To God! We serve a mighty God! A glorious God!!! I will never forget what God did for us. I don't even know all of the things He did for us before I was saved, but I can look back now and see He had His hand on us all along! He is so AWESOME! God bless you for asking this question! 66 | Why did the Savior Dread the Cup? | Matt 26:38 | Praise Be To God | 133166
Did you see "The Passion of the Christ"? I think that shows clearly what Jesus had before Him (although it does not adequately describe his experience on the cross, for we cannot actually feel the pain he suffered). I believe that is the "cup" He was referring to; certainly He would not be referring to the act of saving the world from their sins, for that is why he was born into this world. He came willingly, to do the Father's will. But it was not an easy cup to drink. He did what no other could do. Remember, he prayed, "Nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Here is what the commentary in my Bible ("The Full Life Study Bible") says about this: Matthew 26:39 LET THIS CUP PASS. What Christ meant by "this cup" has been the subject of much discussion. (1) It is doubtful that Christ was praying to be saved from physical death, for He had resolutely set Himself to die for the sin of mankind (Mark 10:33-34; Luke 9:51; John 12:24, 27; Heb 10:5-9). It is more probable that He was praying to be delivered from the punishment of separation from God, the ultimate penalty for sin. Christ prayed that His physical death might be accepted as full payment for the sin of sinners. However, he prayed, "nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt." He then committed Himself to undergo both physical death and spiritual separation from His heavenly Father in order to achieve our salvation (Matthew 27:46). His prayer was "heard," for He was strengthened by His Father to drink the appointed cup (see Heb. 5:7). Hope this helps. Janae. |

67 | how did st. paul die? | Phil 4:4 | Praise Be To God | 133126
Here is the answer I got from a respectable and reliable source, BBN Radio. Thank you. Dear Janae, Thanks for your question about how the Apostle Paul was executed. We gain some light on it from his statement in Second Timothy 4:6 "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand." A very good commentary, Jamieson, Fawcette, and Brown says of this of Paul's statement here: "2Ti 4:6. Greek, "For I am already being offered"; literally, as a libation; appropriate to the shedding of his blood. Every sacrifice began with an initiatory libation on the victim's head (compare Note, see on JFB for Php 2:17). A motive to stimulate Timothy to faithfulness--the departure and final blessedness of Paul; it is the end that crowns the work. As the time of his departure was indicated to Peter, so to Paul (2Pe 1:14)." Their note on Phillipians 2:17 says, "I be offered--rather as Greek, "I am poured out." "I am made a libation." Present, not future, as the danger is threatening him now. As in sacrifices libations of wine were "poured upon" the offerings, so he represents his Philippian converts, offered through faith (or else their faith itself), as the sacrifice, and his blood as the libation "poured upon" it (compare Ro 15:16; 2Ti 4:6)." Remember, Paul had Roman citizenship, and as such the law required he be treated with the respect given to a citizen of Rome. Crucifixation would not be permitted, neither would the cruel pracice of tie a human being to a post and pour tar on the person and lighting it to consume the person, or the equally cruel practice of tying the person in a sack and having wild animals devour the person in an arena. Beheading was considered a more "merciful" and thus more fitting execution for a Roman citizen. I hope that helps you, Janae. Thanks for your question. Also Ezekiel 28:13-19: 13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. |

72 | Are miracles for today? | 1 Cor 13:8 | Praise Be To God | 133035
Yes, they are. The MIRACLE of salvation; the MIRACLE of healing, to name by two. I have been saved from hell and destruction by Jesus Christ's Holy Blood which was shed at Calvary. You cannot deny the miracle of salvation. As for the miracle of healing, I am here to testify that I had been having terrible pain in my hips for years, and could barely walk sometimes. One Sunday morning, recently, our pastor told us if we needed a healing to come and be prayed for by our prayer team. That morning, I almost did not go to church because I was in such pain, but I went forward for prayer. Ever since that prayer, I have had no pain; and I no longer walk with a limp. I praise God every day that I was (and we all were) healed at Calvary. We just need to receive it. Janae. |

73 | Jesus is God? | Matt 3:17 | Praise Be To God | 132737
How about the whole Bible? Is this person a Jehovah's Witness? That is a sign of a false religion, when they don't acknowledge Jesus as God. They argue with every scripture you will quote to them, showing how it has been altered or added later, or something is wrong with it. Try the scripture where God is speaking after Jesus is baptized, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17) Janae |

74 | 2 CORITHIANS 10 VS3-4-5 | Eph 6:13 | Praise Be To God | 132162
It is talking about spiritual warfare. Every day, in prayer, I "bind" my mind to the mind of Christ, so that I will bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. And I "loose" imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. It is all part of putting on the armor of God.
75 | Armor of God- How to apply in daily life | Eph 6:13 | Praise Be To God | 132160
As part of my daily devotion, I make a declaration to Jesus Christ and pray a prayer to put on the armor of God.
76 | Annointing | Matt 6:17 | Praise Be To God | 132088
The anointing comes from the Holy Spirit. At my church, we pray that God would anoint the words spoken by our pastor in his Sunday morning message; the anointing is God's stamp of approval on something. People often pray that their ministry would be anointed; that their words would be anointed, etc. We also ask God to anoint our musicians for the Sunday morning service--every note sung or played--and that they would take us into the Holy of Holies through their music. I sing solos in church and when the anointing comes upon my songs, people's hearts are touched--people cry and praise God, lifting their hands to Him. We should all desire the anointing.
77 | Yet another baptism question! | Col 2:12 | Praise Be To God | 131782
We were justified at Calvary, by Jesus' death on the cross. Baptism is an outward show that we, as Believers, make to God and to the world to say that our "old man" has died with Christ, and we are raised to life again together with Christ. The way you can tell whether the word "baptism" means with water or with the Holy Spirit, is to look at how the verse(s) read(s). For example, Acts 19 is obviously talking about the Holy Spirit. |
||||||
78 | N.T. circumcision? | Col 2:12 | Praise Be To God | 131771
Water Baptism is a sign of the New Covenant because it is an outward show of dying with Christ and rising with him again in victory. The Holy Spirit does the circumcizing of the heart; our role is to desire it. If we yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit, obey God's commands, and are holy (Be ye holy, for I am holy, saith the Lord), the Holy Spirit can circumcize our hearts. But, we must be holy. We cannot yield to sin and expect the Holy Spirit to circumcize our hearts. We recently had a service at my church where we asked the Holy Spirit to do just that. Those desiring to have God circumcize their hearts went forward for prayer and the work was begun. It is being accomplished still. It is an ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. I can only speak by my own experience.
