62 | Question on Hymn of Invitation tradition | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 232171
Greetings, Asking Jesus to come into one’s heart is like inviting Christ into a sewer. Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? It seems as though in most of the churches and services today that people are being ask to jump through man’s psychological hoop in order to be saved; the Word of God establishes the guide lines not man!!!!! The bigger one then this is, “asking God to forgive you”; who knows where they dug this up from but is sure isn’t found in the Word of God. Jesus said the following, Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. The word repent is from the word, METANOEO in the Greek and it’s a compound word meaning to “change” one’s “mind” about the person of Christ and who He is. The most common denominator is found in the following verses and it’s the reason for the whole gospel of John. John 20:30-31 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. The problem now days resides in the confusing word “believe”, i.e. PISTEUO in the Koine Greek of the New Testament. One can’t just give mental assent to the person of Christ that He existed and have eternal life; they must completely place “all of their hopes for eternal life” is the “finished work” that Christ did for them on the cross. If “anything is added” to this faith alone in Christ alone, for all intent and purposes they aren’t truly saved. Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. The gift of God is eternal life which is given freely to those that have the son residing in them. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Here is the statement that settles it all. 1 John 5:10-13 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 63 | What are the books of Revelation 20:12? | Rev 20:12 | CDBJ | 232169
Greetings, The books are the books of the deeds or works that unbelievers are relying on to gain the approbation or approval of God and they are the antithesis to what Jesus did on the cross for their sins. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; There won’t be any sins mentioned at the white throne judgment, they were all paid for by Christ as the lame of God which “takes away” the sin of the world. 1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. The only sin that Jesus didn’t pay for is the sin of rejecting Jesus as the Messiah and this one sin will condemn one to an eternal separation from God in the lake of fire! On the other hand those that have placed the “totality of their faith” in the finished work of Christ have their names written in the book of life! Have a great day, CDBJ |

66 | How many days was Jesus dead? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 231836
That is the great mistaken assumption that he died on a Friday. The truth is that in the year that He died the 14th of Nissan was on a Thursday and the next day was Friday and a High Sabbath feast day. The next day wasn’t the regular seventh day Sabbath or Saturday, as most assume, therefore they think that He died on a Friday and without researching it everybody just went along with the assumption! Do the research, CDBJ |

69 | Salvation if not heard of God? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 230921
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Everyone has the chance to believe according to the following verses, John 16:7-11 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. Notice He, the Holy Spirit, is convicting the “world” of the sin of unbelief; if they have the capacity to reason with what God is telling them then they have made a decision for or against Christ. I hope this helps, CDBJ |

71 | Exodus 12:14-20 | NT general | CDBJ | 230593
Greetings, You are putting restrictions on yourself that have been taken care of by Christ Himself; consider the following. Col. 2:10-23 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. 18Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. 20Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21(Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. 73 | Were the Jews doomed? | Is 58:2 | CDBJ | 230568
Are you trying to say that God’s Word, the Bible, is not telling the truth when it says the following? John 16:7-9 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9Of sin, because they believe not on me; Aren’t the Jews a part of the world and if they are, the Holy Spirit is the one that reveals sin to those living in the world! After the fullness of the genitals is completed the Lord is going to graft Israel back in to the true vine. Romans 11:25-32 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. 28As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. 29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. 30For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. Jesus Christ is praised and as a result the whole world will be blesses and at the same time enjoy the benefits of a perfect ruler, Christ Himself. Rev. 20:1-7 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. 4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. 7And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, CDBJ |

77 | Current Location of Dead Christians | 2 Cor 5:10 | CDBJ | 230519
2 Cor. 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. The word “with” the Lord, in the Koine Greek, is (PROS) in the accusative case and would read better if the English said “face to face” with the Lord. We will have some sort of an interim body but we don’t know much about it from Scripture. EXAMPLE, Rev. 6:9-10 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? These haven’t received a glorified body as of yet, i.e. no rapture yet, and as a result the wrath of God hasn’t happened yet but they are sure anxious for the Lord to avenge them for what is taking place on the Earth that got them killed. The problem is likely the result of the same kind of treatment as those received in, Rev. 12:9-12 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. CDBJ |

78 | rapture is pre or post 7 yr tribulation | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 230517
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The returning of Christ to this Earth referred; to as the Second Advent, and commencing with the term, rapture has numerous verses found in Scripture. What ever position one might hold, and there are four that are basically held and they all cling to certain pet verses to substantiate their position without elaborating on the other verses that refer to the same function. It’s interesting to when people find out that the coming of the Lord isn’t a verb, which shows action, but a noun that comes to us from the Greek word PAROUSIA which represents an event. Just as the lord’s first advent took aprox. thirty three years to fulfill the second advent will take it total of years to complete. The Lord’s return will actually cover “two events” that both take place in the same day, just as it did in Noah’s time and Lot’s time, first the deliverance to a place of safety for the believers then God’s wrath is poured out on those left behind, the rapture signals the beginning of God’s wrath. So to accurately put a time on it, it would be safe to say that the rapture will occur just before the wrath of God commences and a close look at II thes. points this out. 2 Thes. 1:3-10 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, 4so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, 5which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 6since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, (Here is the timing found in verse 10) 10when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. Chapter 2: 1-5 back this up and further points out that this is the time of the rapture. 2 Thes. 2:1-5 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 5Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? The rest of the book explains what we are in for before this things take place and it isn’t going to be a bed of roses! I hope this helps, even though it isn’t good tidings to know what’s in store for the believers when these times come about but I’m sure the Lord can see us through it all for His praise Glory. That’s why it will be a glorious appearing. Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, CDBJ |

Faith in Jesus Christ for salvation is based on what He did for us not what we do for Him. John 20:30-31 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. Let the Lord clean up your life as He sees fit, all you are asked to do is have faith an trust in what He did for you not what we do for Him: the Father isn’t impressed with what we do for Him, He is only impressed with what Jesus did for you on the cross!!!!!!! Read the book of John through about three times and as you read ask the Lord to show you the truth. CDBJ |
