61 | Why ask for meat? | Ex 16:3 | prayon | 21853
In Exodus 16:3 it says that the Isrealite said that they had sat by their fleshpots (pots filled with meat) in Egypt and ate till they were full. In verse 12 it says that the Lord provided them with meat. Why did He have to provide them with meat? They had all their herds with them. Why couldn't they get the meat from their own herds? prayon

AGAPE NEWS PRESS: Harry Potter Pro-Family Advocates Warn of Potter Film's Content, Effect on Children By Fred Jackson November 5, 2001 (AgapePress) - More than 10,000 people, many of them children, were on hand in London last night for the world premiere of the movie version of the controversial Harry Potter series. Here in the U.S., pro-family advocates are warning parents the occultic content of the Warner Brothers movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone should not be taken lightly. When it comes to the world’s definition of what success is today, the Harry Potter book series is a record breaker. According to Baptist Press, a U.S. consumer research survey says more than half of all children between the ages of 6 and 17 have read at least one of the Harry Potter books, and the movie’s premier in the U.S. later this month is expected to follow that trend. But according to a new video by Jeremiah Films, such literature and films that deal with witchcraft are furnishing not just escapist entertainment for young viewers, but causing an overwhelming interest in the dark arts. Lindy Beam writes in an article for Focus on the Family about similar concerns. She says any time the dark side of the supernatural world is presented as harmless or even imaginary, there is the danger that children will find out too late that witchcraft is neither. Beam says in a world with an obvious trend toward witchcraft and New Age ideology, parents need to consider the effects that these ideas have on impressionable minds. Any comments? |

66 | Where was God? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 16723
Where was God? I submit this for your consideration. Our concept of God is that God gave us the ability to do good and evil. when we choose to do good, God celebrates with us. When we choose to do evil, God cries with us. God gives us choices and gives us the ability to make those choices. But the choice is ours. When we look for blame, the blame is with us, not God. From the Jewish perspective, the question is always asked, "Where was God at Auschwitz?" The Jewish answer is "God was there. The real question is where was Man at Auschwitz?"

I agree with Norrie. On breaks and on lunch it should be ok but not while on company time. The company is paying you to do a job not to be on the forum. What it boils down to is as Ed said - It is stealing. No matter how much we rationalize it it is still stealing from the company. Any other comments?
