561 | Teaching Messiahship on the cross | Matt 27:46 | Ray | 33846
Hi Steve, The comparison is a contrast because David would say in Psalm 22:6, "But I am a worm, and not a man." And we know that Jesus was his King, so you have to keep the capitalization in mind. I'll put in parentheses for comparison. Psalm 22:1, "My [my] (God), my God, why hast Thou forsaken me? Far from my deliverance are the words of my groaning. O my God, I cry by day, but Thou dost not answer; and by night, but I have no rest. Yet Thou art holy, O Thou/ who art enthroned upon the praises of Israel. In Thee our fathers trusted; They trusted, and Thou didst deliver them. To (Thee) they cried out, and were delivered; In Thee they trusted, and were not disappointed." Matthew 27:42, "(He) saved others; can He not save Himself?" Matthew 27:43, "He trusts in God; Let (Him) deliver Him now if He takes pleasure in Him; for He said, 'I am the Son/of God." And the robbers also who had been crucified with Him were casting the same insult at (Him). Mark 15:31, "In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes, were mocking (Him) among themselves and saying, "He saved others; He cannot save Himself." Matthew 27:46, "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "My (God), My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?"...and yielded up (His) spirit." ***Jesus had been mocked, "Hail, (King) of the Jews!", Matthew 27:29 and the charge written "THIS IS JESUS THE (KING)OF THE JEWS. Mark 15:39, "And when the centurion, who was standing right in front of Him, saw the way (He) breathed His last, he said, "Truly this *Man was the Son of God." Luke 23:46, "And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, Into Thy/ hands I commit My spirit." And having said this, (He) breathed His last. Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, "Certainly this *Man was innocent." Luke 23:38, "Now there was also an inscription above Him, "THIS IS THE (KING)OF THE JEWS."...41 but this *Man/ has done nothing wrong." Psalm 22:5, "To (Thee) they cried out, and were delivered; Psalm 22:10, "Upon (Thee) I was cast from birth; Thou hast been my God from my mother's womb. Psalm 22:22, "In the midst of the assembly I will praise (Thee). Psalm 22:24, "But when he cried to Him for help, (He) heard." Luke 23:34, "But Jesus was saying, "(Father), forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." From the heart, Ray |

562 | Is Jesus the source? | John 7:38 | Ray | 33761
Hi Tim, I have written about this verse on the forum before and am still struggling with it. I have tried to distinguish between the gift and the Giver. I believe that there is the Holy Spirit, a Person of the Trinity and there is the gift that we have of holy spirit. It is for that reason that I put spirit in lower case for John 7:39, "for the spirit was not yet given." In other words, the spirit is the gift , the gift of rivers of flowing water. I have thought as you do that the Giver of this living water is God. Isaiah 44:3, "For I [God] will pour out water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground." So in the past I have capitalized "His innermost being" and left lower case, "for the spirit was not yet given." I can and probably have changed my mind on this and I thank you for your question which brings it back to my thoughts here. The first verse that I would look at in support of "From his [sic] innermost being will flow rivers of living water" would be Isaiah 44:3. Isaiah 44:2b, "Do not fear, O Jacob My servant; And you Jeshurun whom (I) have chosen, For I will pour out water on the thirsty land..." John 7:37b, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to (Me) and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ...rivers of living water." Also: Isaiah 44:3b, "I will pour out My Spirit [spirit] on your offspring, And My blessing [sic] on your descendants;" John 7:38, "But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believe in Him were to receive;..." Isaiah 44:3b, "I will pour out My spirit on your offspring, And My blessing on your descendants." **I believe that the idea of the gifts of the spirit and the blessing are quite logical here. I think that the verses to compare it to are, as suggested, John 4:10 and John 4:14. John 4:10, "...you would have asked (Him), and He would have given you living water." John 4:14, "but whoever drinks of the water that (I) will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become a well ofwater..." John 7:37, "...let him come to (Me) and drink. He who believes in Me,...'From his innermost being will flow riviers of living water." From the heart, Ray |

563 | matt,mark,john,like are accounts of his | 2 Pet 3:16 | Ray | 33660
Hi JASCOTT@CZN,COM, I would like to speak to some of your thoughts. It will be difficult to converse with you because you seem to fluctuate between all capitals and all lower case. I will speak to you as one interested in capitalization of words. This will require a distinction between the word of God (the Bible), and the Word of God (God's Son, God in the flesh). Scriptures tell us that we have to know Jesus as Lord; that He came in the flesh. So when you talk about the Bible (the word of God) being the Word you must keep in mind that Jesus came in the flesh. These words that we study are inspired words and they are the word of God. The Word is God. We have to keep this distinction in mind. You mentioned Isaiah and someone else mentioned John 5:36. I would like to look at those verses together and maybe add a thought. John 5:36, "But the testimony which I have is greater than the testimony of John; for the works which the Father has given Me to accomplish--the very works that I do--testify about Me, that the Father has sent Me. And the Father who sent (Me) has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form. You do not have His word abiding in you, for you do not believe Him whom He sent. You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify of Me; and you are unwilling to come to (Me) so that you may have life." Parentheses mine for comparison. ** We have eternal life not because of the word of God but because of the finished work of the Word of God and our coming to (Him.) John 5:31, "If (I) alone testify of Myself, My testimony is not true. There is *Another who testifies of Me, and I know that the testimony which He gives about Me is true. You have sent to John, and he has testified of the truth. But the testimony which I receive is not from man, but (I) say these things so that you may be saved." **It is God who gives us the testimony about Jesus. And when you talk about the testimony of the Holy Spirit you are talking about another Helper. John 14:16, "And I will ask the Father, and (He) will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; (I) will come to you." John 5:43, "I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him. How can you believe, when you receive the glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God? ** We should test the spirits to see if the words that we are exposed to are from God or from only man and his/her interpretation. I believe that Jesus came as a Man and was not just a man. He is God and He is the Spirit of truth that the world cannot receive. John 14:17. John 14:28, "You heard that I said to you, "(I) go away, and I will come to you.'" John 5:45, "Do not think that (I) will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?" ** If you don't believe the words of Moses, how can you believe the words of Christ? But Jesus would say, if you don't believe My words then believe the works that I do. John 5:36, "But the testimony which I have is greater than the testimony of John; for the works which the Father has given Me to accomplish--the works that I do---" John 6:14, "Therefore when the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said, "This is truly the (Prophet) who is to come into the world." To be continued... |

564 | who does "His servant" refer to?? | Is 50:10 | Ray | 33229
Hi shuru, Welcome to the forum. I am a person that is interested in capitalization and would be one of the first to jump in to answer your question. The NKJ capitalizes (Servant) in this verse thus making it signifing Deity and most probably Jesus. I would agree with this as also does the Amplified version above. I think that a good verse to compare it to would be John 8:12, "Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the (Light) of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the Light of life." Parentheses are mine for comparison. Or Daniel 2:22, "It is (He) who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness And the light [Light] dwells with Him." So the answer to the question in the verse of your inquiry is "No one". There should be no Christian who would walk in darkness and have no light or knowledge. Jesus is the Light of the world and the Servant who gave His life for us. From the heart, Ray |

565 | Why is this event only in St. Matthew? | Matt 27:52 | Ray | 33163
Hi Trykkleif, Matthew 27:51-53 appear to be relating things that happened at the same time that Jesus gave up His spirit like the splitting of the veil of the temple. The verses appear to relate the earthquakes and the things that were happening then but also things that will happen later on. The tombs were opened and many bodies of the saints were raised and came out of the tombs *after His resurrection, verse 53. Verse 54 then continues with the narrative of the centurion's witness after Jesus gave up His spirit. I think that the miracle of the bodies being resurrected is simply the proof of who Jesus was; just as His resurrection showed that He was who He said He was with power. Their resurrections, which I would suppose were temporary just like Lazarus', are still of miniscual significance when compared to the knowledge of the power of the Son of God. The NASB margin may say that the Greek could read "Or possibly, a son of God, or, a son of a god." However, we know because of this resurrection power for us and Himself, that "Truly this was the Son of God." Verse 63 states how the Pharisees and the chief priests and Pilate remembered "that when (He) was still alive that deceiver said, 'After three days I am to rise again.'" Rest assured that this is no deceiver whom we worship and serve; He is not a son of a god or even a son of God. "Truly this was the Son of God." That is what the resurrections prove. 566 | How far would you go in a translation? | Matt 1:18 | Ray | 32836
Hi Tim, These are wonderful examples that you have chosen. May I give you my viewpoint as a "capitalist"?:) In the past I have chosen the idea of "being pregnant" rather than "being with child" because I didn't have to decide whether to capitalize Child with that phrase. But now, looking at the Greek with you, this would be my translation, very much "for what it is worth". Matthew 1:18, "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was this way (for His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph): Before they were joined, she was found to have the Holy Spirit in her womb." And for verse twenty I would go with the new NASB copyright and say, "for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." Verse 23, "Behold the virgin will conceive in her womb and will bear a Son...God with us." From the heart, Ray |

567 | Truly searching for a prophet? | Job | Ray | 32487
Hi charis, May I enter in here as a capitalist observer?:) I see Jensen searching for a Prophet in the ending of his post. I agree with you charis that there is only one Prophet, Priest, and King. If Jensen is looking for a perfect prophet he will not find one for there is none righteous, no not one. There will be no one that he can call a Prophet and no one should claim to be a Prophet for there is one Leader, one Father, one Teacher and that is our triune God. It is interesting to note in the gospel of John the use of capitalization for the word Prophet in regard to John the baptist and Jesus. This is one example of the need of contrast by the use of capitalization. John was considered a prophet, but the translations need to point out the Prophet, Jesus more clearly, I believe. For instance, John 4:44 could very well read, "For Jesus Himself testified that a Prophet has no honor in His own country." The Samaritans knew that this One was indeed the Savior of the world, but His own people did not. From the heart, Ray |

568 | in 2 sam 24-1 you use the word (it) but | 1 Chr 21:1 | Ray | 32415
Hi adonijah, I don't know Hebrew so I can't tell you why the NIV and NKJ chose "he" and "He" using that knowledge as the basis for the answer. But I can tell you why I would choose "it" from the comparison of scriptures. 1 Chronicles 21:1 says, "Then Satan stood up against Israel and moved David to number Israel." So you see, it wasn't He who incited David but rather Satan. It would appear that Satan used the anger of the Lord that David was aware of to accuse all of the people and in a sense number them all as transgressors. 1 Chron 21:3, "And Joab said, "May the Lord add to His people a hundred times as many as they are! But, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? Why does my lord seek this thing? Why should he be a cause of guilt to Israel?" So you see that it wasn't up to David to judge and accuse God's people or even his own servants. Why should he be accusing them? It was wrong, David repented of it, paid the price for it, and the plague was stopped. It is interesting to compare the census counts of the two accounts. The Lord didn't add a hundred times as many as there were, but the counts appear to be different. Census counting appears to be difficult, especially if the reason is one of accusation?:) But there was no doubt about the dead for they were easier to count, I dare say. From the heart, Ray |

569 | direction on His Majesty | Bible general Archive 1 | Ray | 32396
Hi prayor warrior, I don't know how much we have communicated before or if you are aware with my "obsession" with capitalization, but I would like to look at what you have written in order to tell you how I feel about this subject. This is not to be picky of your capitalization but just to put everything in perspective. For instance, I can not relate to the song "Worship His Majesty" by Don Wurtson I believe. He is my King but I have trouble thinking of Him as "His Majesty". Plus, I have trouble with worshiping His power, or mighty acts, or His attributes, for He alone is worthy to be praised. I hope that gives you an idea somewhat of where I am coming from. You want help in finding scripture "that helps describe God's Majesty". Your Psalm 92 reference says that He is clothed with majesty and strength. You have said that "God is Majestic". I believe that God is majestic and that we are eyewitnesses of His majesty. 2 Peter 1:16, "For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty [sic]. For when (He) received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory [Excellent Glory, NKJ], "This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased."" I believe that He is "more majestic than we can fathom". I believe that He is God and that He is Spirit and He is the Majestic Glory. How wonderful it must have been when they "were with (Him) on the holy mountain." 2 Peter 1:18 Compare 2 Peter 1:18, "and we ourselves heard this" and Matthew 17:6, "And when the disciple heard this, they fell on their faces and were much afraid. And (Jesus) came to them and touched them and said, "Arise, and do not be afraid." And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus Himself alone. And as they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, "Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has been risen from the dead."" It was after the resurrection and because of the resurrection from the dead that the disciples could talk about the Majestic Glory [the Excellent Glory]. From the heart, Ray |

570 | CAN YOU DEFINE THE LORD OF HOST | Is 1:9 | Ray | 32365
Hi ELILIZ514, I think that it is important to know that God is God, and that He loves us. May we never doubt that. Malachi 1:1, "The oracle of the word of the Lord to Israel through Malachi. "I have loved you, says the (Lord). But you say, "How hast Thou loved us?" Malachi 1:9, NKJ, "But now entreat God's favor, That He may be gracious to us. NASB, "With such an offering on your part, will (He) receive any of you kindly?" says the Lord of hosts." Malachi 1:11, "For from the rising of the sun, even to its setting, My name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense is going to be offered in My name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My name will be great among the nations," says the (Lord) of hosts." Malachi 1:14b, "...for I am a great King," says the Lord of hosts, "and (My) name is feared among the nations." ***Jesus is my King who died for me on the cross, even the (King) of the Jews. I need no other offering or sacrifice. Malachi 2:13, "...because (He) no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favor from your hand." Malachi 3:1, "Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold (He) is coming," says the Lord of hosts." The capitalized Messenger and parentheses are my interpretation and use for comparison. Malachi 4:2, NKJ, "But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; ...On the day that (I) do this," Says the Lord of hosts." I find the book of Malachi to be a good one for learning of the Lord of hosts and I hope that these verses have been meaningful. From the heart, Ray |

571 | Why the change from "they" to "you"? | 2 Pet 3:9 | Ray | 32181
Hi benjamite, The fact that should not escape anyone's notice is that God is coming. 2 Peter 3:3, "Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of (His) coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation." I have been led to Isaiah 5:19 as a reference by my Study Bible. Isaiah 5:18, "Woe to those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood, And sin as if with cart ropes; Who say, "Let (Him) make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it; And let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near And come to pass, that we may know it." Also, see Matthew 17:16, "And I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him." And Jesus answered and said, "O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall (I) be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me. And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once." Or, John 14:8,9, "Phillip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Have (I) been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Phillip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how do you say, "Show us the Father?"" Revelation 22:12, "Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the (First) and the Last, the Beginning and the End." Of course the parentheses are mine as is the capitalization in Revelation here. I hope this adds meaning for you. For God promised that He would come and He came to earth for a while, and He will come again to judge the whole world. Later, Ray |

572 | john 14:6 | John | Ray | 32003
Hi yony, Primarily, Jesus wants us to know (Him), who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I appreciate your capitalization of Life showing that you believe in the Deity of Christ. Knowing Him is important to John, it was of passing interest to Pilate, see John 18:37, and it has to be important to us for He has the words of eternal life. John 6:69, "And we have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy (One) of God." Parenthesis mine. You probably realize that most of the new translations out today do not capitalize Deity. Our beloved NASB is always changing, as I have also, the choices of capitalized words. It is in those capitalizations that we develope the interpretation of a passage and gain knowledge of who God is and what He is saying in essence. For instance, the NASB has capitalized in their new copyright version more of the words concerning Light. I am glad to see that and am glad that we are in agreement in many if not most. One passage that I am working on (and it seems that changes are always being made, for this is a work in progress for all of us), is John 1:4. My choices of capitalization are different from NASB and NKJ which capitalize Deity. Here it is for what it is worth. John 1:4, "In Him was Life, and the (Life) was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." The new NASB has chosen to capitalize light and both NASB and NKJ do not capitalize life. I chose to leave light in the lower case because light is spoken of as an "it". I chose to capitalize Life because the (Life) is (God) in the flesh; John 1:1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with (God)...". I think that it is important to capitalize for the understanding of whether we are talking about the word (the Holy Bible) or the Word (the Son of God). It is important to know if we are talking about the Life or whether we are talking about the life abundant that Jesus gives. Later, Ray |

Ephesians goes on in chapter 5, "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love,..." **In the same way, Galatians 5 says that we belong to Christ Jesus and should live and "walk by the Spirit. Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another." In contrast, Galatians 5:16 says, "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh. By imitating God we walk by the Spirit. I like the Amplified version's suggestion that this is the work which His presence within accomplishes. Later, Ray |

575 | Satan's will or God's will | 2 Tim 2:26 | Ray | 31852
Hi aquila, The NASB Study Bible that I use has in the margin, "Or possibly, 'by him, to do His will.'" The NKJ which also capitalizes Deity reads, "having been taken captive by him to do his will." I think that the important thing to note, however, is that the Greek reads "HAVING BEEN CAPTURED BY HIM FOR (IN) THAT ONE'S WILL." l)"That one" would refer back to the devil I would think. 2)If they have come to their senses and escaped from the devil; if they have been granted repentance, as verse 25 reads; then the possibility of doing "that One's" will would be by knowing THE TRUTH. ***I am not against capitalizing Truth and often do, but I think the natural reading would be the way that you have understood it in the past. 576 | Where do angels sing in the Bible? | Bible general Archive 1 | Ray | 31478
Hi Rafiki Rich, Welcome to the forum. We always like to encourage new contributors to use the Search words to the left or right. For instance, after clicking on the Search on the top left; type in "Kalos" or Ray in the User Name section and "Matt. Chapter 1" in the containing these words section and you will find enough to think about for awhile. I would ask you to keep in mind that you will find NO ONE "singing...Amen" anything in the Bible. The Bible is not a hymnbook and does not have written musical notes included in it. Luke 2:13 says, "And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,..." It doesn't say singing because the sounds and pitches are not included. This is after all the "word" of God. I would welcome your thoughts either here or in the Matt. Chapter 1 thread. Later, Ray |

Hi slide m46, I think you are correct that God has this as a "warning" about their guiltiness, their rebellion, for they have stumbled in (because of) their iniquities. But have your friend look to the end where we are told to know these things: 1) The ways of the Lord are right. 2)The righteous will walk in them. 3) The transgressors will stumble in them. The ways of the Lord are right. Even though this is the same Lord who says in Hosea 13:7, "So I will be like a lion to them; Like a leopard I will lie in wait by the wayside. I will encounter them like a bear robbed of her cubs, And (I) will tear open their chests; There I will also devour them like a lioness, As a wild beast would tear them." For you can contrast that with Hosea 14:4, "I will heal their apostasy, I will love them freely, For (My) anger has turned away from them. I will be like the dew to Israel;..." Remember Revelation 19, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; Because (His) judgments are true and righteous..." Parentheses mine for comparison. I hope that this is helpful. 578 | What is this "open door?" | Rev 4:1 | Ray | 30309
Hi Mommapbs, We learn of the door first in John 10:1 where Jesus says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber." In order to show contrast to this robber may I offer for your consideration the God/Man whose says in verse 7, "Truly, truly, I/ say to you, I am the door of the sheep." This would introduce the idea of capitalizing in verse 2, "But He who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep." And He calls His sheep by name, and the sheep follow Him because they know His voice. Verse 9 says, "(I) am the dooor;" Capitals and parenthesis mine. Verse 14, "I am the good shepherd; and I know My own, and My own know (Me)." Revelation 3:19, "Those whom I/ love, I reprove and discipline; be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears (My) voice and opens the door,..." John 10:16, "...and they shall hear (My) voice; and they shall become one flock with one shepherd." Besides going to the door and hearing His voice, we can learn to know the (One) who is true. Revelation 3:7, "(He) who is holy, who is true,"... [who has, who opens, who shuts and no one opens.] Revelation 4:8, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God, the (Almighty)," [who was, who is, who is to come] Revelation 6:10, "...How long, O (Lord), holy and true,..." Contrast John 17:3, "And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true (God), and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent." Contrast 1 John 5:20, "...in order that we might know (Him) who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God/ and eternal life." Revelation 15:3, "...O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are (Thy) ways, Thou King of the nations." This King is the God/Man who came to earth for us. Revelation 15:4, "Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Thy name? For Thou alone art holy; For all the naions will come and worship before Thee/, For Thy righteous acts have been revealed." His judgments are true, also, but that is another thread. Praise the Lord, and thanks for your question. Later, Ray |

579 | "Jehovah Rophe - our Lord and Healer"??? | Ex 15:26 | Ray | 29013
Hi HHannaJr, I am a person who is interested in pronouns of Deity and the capitalization of such. I would agree with your capitalization of the Healer. A reference verse in my Study Bible sent me to Deuteronomy 32:39. I prefer the capitalization in the NKJ here, "Now see that I, even I, am He, And there is no God besides Me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; Nor is there any [other] who can deliver from My hand." Bracket word is mine. The context of the passage is that the nations around them were not people of the Lord. Verse 31, "Indeed their rock is not like our Rock, Even our enemies themselves judge this." The Lord says in verse 37, "Where are their gods, The rock in which they sought refuge?" God is our Rock and our Healer; and even our Ruler. I was led also to the only other reference to "healer" in my concordance, Isaiah 3:7. 6"When a man lays hold of his brother in his father's house, saying 'You have a cloak, you shall be our ruler, And these ruins will be under your charge,' 7On that day will he protest, saying, 'I will not be your healer, For in my house there is neither bread nor cloak; You shall not appoint me ruler of the people.'" Compare Isaiah 3 with Luke 12:14. "But He said to him, "Man, who appointed Me a judge or arbiter over you?'" The context there is that the Holy Spirit will guide us and "teach you in that very hour what you ought to say." Contrast that with Isaiah 3:8, "For Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah has fallen, Because their speech and their actions are against the Lord, To rebel against His glorious presence." So I see an interesting contrast between Luke 12:14 and Isaiah 3:14; but which has little to do with your "Healer" question. I"ll try to find some other verses for you. All I want to point out is that Jesus is our Rock, our Ruler, our Judge, and our Healer. He is the Son of Man but also the Holy Spirit, God with us. Later, Ray |

Hi Aunt B, The one who confesses the Son has the Father also. If He abides in (your heart), you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. Abide in Him so that when He appears you may have confidence. 1 John chapter two. I believe the verse you have in mind is 1 John 3:2, "Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is. Let me know if that is helpful. Later, Ray |
