41962 | Where is hell? | Rev 22:15 | pjmacaz | 237634
A recent group study brought this question. If John's vision is of the heavenly home to come, If the kingdom to come is the new Jerusalem, then is being outside described in Revelation 22:15 mean that hell is right out of the gate to heaven? Same location? This bothered me a lot. I felt in my heart NO, NO and NO. I did not have the presence of mind, to answer with clarity. Scripture clearly tells of the New heaven and Earth to come and the separation for sinners that do not accept Jesus as LORD prior to death. After getting back to the basics, and taking all scripture into account, I came to a simple answer. Outside, means outside. Not 3 feet, 3miles or 30 miles, but not "inside." An eternal separation and the door won't be open. Whatever the name, hell, Hades, shoal. It is not where Jesus will be and quite frankly that, to me, would be hell. Please expound. Thanks |

Restating #59842 The NKJ for Rev 22:16 reads, "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star." I can see that this Bright Morning Star is Jesus. Who or what is the morning star of 2 Peter 1:19 and Revelation 2:38? From the heart, Ray |

when were all the books of the Bible incorporated together and what practical reason does anyone have for why the Bible ends with the book of Revelations? i know that there are certain scriptures saying that the Bible should not be added to, but surely at some point over the last 2000 years, someone has thought to add to the Bible; i mean did all the good works and travelling and work done to God's name stop?

41973 | Is God's Word Complete ? | Rev 22:18 | Robert Nicholson | 32928
Is the Cannon of Scripture complete? Or should we be looking for new truth today? I have been following the discussion on prophets. I find that when I hear of someone claiming to have a special revealation from God, the caution lights go on and I think of this warning in Rev. 22:18 In Luke 24:42 The risen Lord said to his disciples: "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all the things which are written of Me in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled. In other words the Lord Jesus accepted that the old Testament was complete under the three catergories. The Prophets of the old testament according to Peter in 2 Peter 1:20-21 he writes "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." In other words the old testament prophets were simply vessels of the Holy Ghost and were forth-tellers of the word of God. In the New Testament we have those who were chosen by Christ as stewarts of the truth which he gave to them while he was with them. How could they remember such detail. Jesus told them " But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance , whatsoever I have said unto you" (John 14:26) This is comfirmed again in John 16:12 "Jesus said I have many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. Howbeit, when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himselfl but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speakL and he will shew you things to come" We find from these verses that the Lord Jesus did not leave what we call the New Testament to the memories of those who loved him, but by the Holy Spirit gave them his mind and will which was presented to the church and the world. Other New testament prophets of course where John the Baptist and the greatest of all the Lord Jesus Christ himself. The Apostle Paul was also a choosen vessel through whom God presented great truths to the new testament church. In Strong's Concordance, the transliterated word from New Testament Greek as "Prophetes" is defined as: a) an interpreter of oracles or of hidden things. b) one who moved by the Spirit of God solemnly declares to men what he has received by inspiration"... It would appear that New Testament prophets is not ordinarily a "foreteller", but rather a forth-teller (1 Cor. 14:3) whose gift enabled him to speak to "edification, and exhortation and comfort". If we take Rev. 22:18 seriously than we would propose that the mind and truth of God is in his Word and by his Holy Spirit through his word. Present day prophets would then be known as forth- tellers of the truth revealled to them by the Holy Spirit from the word of God. Men do not interpret scripture. Scripture interprets scripture since "no scripture is of private interpretation" God has been careful to provide us with the whole word of God and if we prayfully ask the Holy Spirit to guide us, he will in the light of the whole word of God. I do not believe that God is about to add to his word through modern day prophets. If all truth was suffcient for the apostles, why would it not satisfy us? |

41978 | Truthfinder, why aren't Jews His people? | Rev 22:18 | Searcher56 | 79237
Truthfinder You said, "They were no longer God's people and are not today" ... meaning the Jews. Prove it by Scripture. Romans 9:3-5 says they still are (Isa 11:11,12, 44:8; Eze 37:21,22). Searcher |

41979 | Originals? | Rev 22:18 | Morant61 | 79245
Greetings Truthfinder! Do you have one of these 'originals' which includes God's name? If not, the whole argument is pure speculation. Concerning the Jews, read what Paul said: Rom. 11:1 - "I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew...." What Scripture can you point to which says that the Jewish nation is no longer God's people? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

41980 | Release and faith in same verse? | Rev 22:18 | Radioman2 | 91013
angel9: The body of my previous note made no mention whatever of the Amplified Bible. And no matter what the "amplifications" say, the fact remains: The words "release" and "faith" are not found together in the same verse anywhere in the Bible. Grace and peace, Radioman2 ____________________ "Release" and "faith" not in same verse. "do what the Bible says and release that faith"? Where in the Bible does it say that? An online search of the KING JAMES VERSION of the Bible resulted in 18 verses in which the word "release" appears. And yet the word "faith" does not appear in the same verse as the word "release" anywhere in this translation. An online search of the NEW AMERICAN STANDARD BIBLE resulted in 31 verses in which the word "release" appears. And yet the word "faith" does not appear in the same verse as the word "release" anywhere in this translation. |
