41801 | Who goes to heaven? | Rev 20:12 | Tan | 141576
Hello! I would really appreciate it, if somebody could answer this question: Does one go to heaven only if he believes in Jesus? You can't go to heaven only beacause of your good works do you? How would you explain why is that so?
41802 | resurrection of the dead rev 20 | Rev 20:12 | gdh1127 | 179768
where does the resurrection of ezekiel 37 fit in the resurrections mentioned in rev 20?
41803 | rev 20:11-15 | Rev 20:12 | gdh1127 | 179763
the church i assemble with teaches that at the resurrection foretold in rev 20:12-15, those who have not known christ will have their chance to know him, learn of his ways, and be accepted in his kingdom. i cannot for the life of me see this. what i see is that men (unlike those who remain faithful to christ tasked to be his kings and priests) will be judged according to his deeds. the ministers cannot show me anything beyond that god's will is that all be saved. i am saddened to note that having been given free will, many choose the broad gate (matthew 7:13,14) indeed.
41804 | where dpes ezekiel 37 fit? | Rev 20:12 | gdh1127 | 179792
hi rsinanan! In 2 Pe 3:10 we learn that this entire creation will be done away with and a new heavens and a new earth will replace it (Rev 21:1). I believe this is what Rev 20:11 is referring to. Ezekiel 37, however clearly talks of a resurrection to a very physical existence, and so can't be placed as being that of rev 20:12 unless i misunderstand rev 20:11 as the point when 2 peter 3:10 happens. this being the case, i then need to reconcile rev 20:5 that says "the rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were over" with ezekiel 37!!! if my understanding of rev 20:11 is wrong, then what does "earth and heaven fled away , and no place was found for them."? i am of the firm conviction that the bible does not contradict itself and that there is a reasonable explanation reconciling these seemingly conflicting verses *_*. take care, grace |

41806 | In Rev 20:11-15, who are the "dead"? | Rev 20:12 | soconfusedinthisworld | 227938
In Rev 20:11-15, who are the supposed "dead"? Are the people in heaven "dead"? Are the people in hell "dead"? Are the people currently living on earth "dead"?
41807 | What are the books of Revelation 20:12? | Rev 20:12 | loavesnfish | 232156
In Revelation 20:12 It says "the books were opened" and "the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books." Usually, I have heard the books interpreted as records of the deeds of the dead. Where did this interpretation come from? Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that these are the books of the Law which are publicly read to confront people with their sins as Ezra did in Nehemiah 8:1-9 and 9:3? Or as in modern courts where the laws are "on the books" and infractions of them are publicly judged?

41809 | What is the Sea, Death and Hades? | Rev 20:13 | Appleseed | 17715
Hi All, Is the sea is refering to those who are dead and are on earth (being the gulf between heaven and hell)? Is death a place or a state of being? From this passage it suggests it is a place. Therefore why is it different to Hades? In other words, what is the difference between death and hades? Please back with scripture I appreciate your input, God Bless You |

41810 | Did OT saints go to heaven? | Rev 20:13 | LIVERIGHT | 102762
I have three questions: 1. Where did the OT saints go when they died? 2. Who will be at the Millenium - all the saints or just those who go through the tribulation? 3. When sinners die now, do they go straight to hell? Thanks! |

41812 | Am I judged by my deeds? | Rev 20:13 | Angel In Training | 159179
"...and each person was judged according to what he had done." Revelation 20:13 (NIV) I was just going over Revelation and found this portion of scripture. I know that I am saved by the grace of God and that the blood Jesus shed was enough: So why are "my works" being judged? The only way I can figure this out is that if I am truly committed to Jesus then my "works" will automatically be a reflection of my committment. Therefore, my works are not the things being judged, my committment to Jesus is. But then where's grace? Angel in Training |

What happens to death and Hades in the lake of fire and why?
41816 | Death | Rev 20:14 | Cephas | 7666
Thanks Nolan your response helps a lot.Can I conclude that death and Hades are destroyed in the lake of fire and not subjected to "eternal torment"? And if so, how is it that unbelievers are not destroyed there as many believe?
41817 | Hades tormented? | Rev 20:14 | Cephas | 7670
Are death and Hades destroyed or are they tormented forever?
41818 | Persons destroyed too? | Rev 20:14 | Cephas | 7759
If death and Hades are not tormented forever but destroyed (in the plain and ordinary meaning of the word),then how is it that persons are not destroyed in the same place as is taught? Is it the case that the lake of fire is a place both of destruction (which implies finiteness), and ongoing never-ending torment, depending on whether what is thrown there is a person or a thing?
41819 | Why Destroyed? | Rev 20:14 | Morant61 | 7772
Greetings Cepas! Thanks for the quick response! Verse 14 could definitely refer to the abode as well as their inhabitants. My question would be though: How does an abode get thrown in the Lake of Fire? The easiest answer seems to be that they are personifications. Thus, references to them refer to the individuals within them. But I could be wrong! The main point though concerns the word "destroyed." I think (though I can't realy speak for anyone else) that many of the responders to your original post think that you are fishing for a preconceived answer (i.e. - that people in the Lake of Fire are destroyed, and not tormented for eternity.) So I ask directly, why do you make the inference that Death and Hades are destroyed? Thanks, Tim Moran |

41820 | Did Christ die the "second" death for us | Rev 20:14 | palaurin | 18447
I am new to the church and I feel that Christ died for our sins. He is our substitue, so in being our substitute, He died the "second" death, the death we deserve. A guy in our congregation says that if Christ died the "second" death, He would be no more, the same as those who will die this death at Christ's 'third' return to this earth. Is he right? I know I may be mistaken, but what are the Bible answers for the TRUTH? I am not familiar with the Bible to know where things are. I would like these answers by Wed, as we have prayer meeting and it will be good to discuss. (It came up last week at this meeting). Thank you, Peter Laurin |
