44 | Gen 1:26 | Gen 1:1 | you | 234030
The first part of the first reference and the second reference both say first person plural. The second part of the first reference has to be questioned because of the slight difference in pointing of Ne 5:18 from Gen 1:26. Figure out the meaning of the pointing. |

You are going to have to study some Hebrew before you make claims about what something does or does not say. "let us make" is all wrapped up in one Hebrew word.

47 | Gen 1:26 | Gen 1:1 | you | 234023
What I was taught in different classes was to translate elohim as gods or God based on context. Scanning through The Hebrew-English Concordance to the Old Testament I see numerous occurrences of elohim being translated as god in the NIV. See Ex 22:20, Num 4:34, Jdg 6:31, 8:33, 9:27, 1 Sam 4:7, 2 Ki 17:27, 18:33 and Jonah 1:5. Sometimes even God is referred to as god in 2 Sam 5:7, 21:20 and 2 ch 32:17. More interesting to look at are Gen 23:6, 30:8, Ex 18:19, 21:26, 22:8,9 34:16, Jdg 11:24, 16:23,24 , 17:5, 1 sam 5:7, 2 sam 11:33, 18:24,25,27, 2 ki 1:10, 16, 5:17, 19:10,37, Job 1:6, 2:1, 38:7, Ps 8:5, 36:7, and Is 35:4 Sorry if I made any typos but there is plenty to look at. |

48 | Ge 1:26 | Gen 1:1 | you | 234017
I gave no roman numerals. The book originated in 1848 so anybody can print there own version. I am looking at Zondervan's first printing in 1970. Look in your version for nun ayin sin he. Make sure you look at a hebrew text to see what pointing the masoretes applied.
49 | Hebrew Old Testament? | Gen 1:1 | you | 233997
I have read translations of the Hebrew scriptures in English. I can not just pick up a Tanack and just read the Hebrew. I have studied Hebrew and have studied with Rabbis. Doing a translation for me is tedius work.

52 | why was Canaan cursed by Noah because he | Lev 18:8 | you | 233987
It says Ham saw Noah's nakedness but his son gets cursed. It has been proposed that as in Lev 18:8 Noah's nakedness was his wife implying Ham slept with his mother and Canaan was the offspring. There are problems with this interpretation due to the order Canaan is already announced as Ham's son.

Do you want to offer God strange fire as in Leviticus 10?
54 | how did rebekah die | Gen 49:31 | you | 233871

55 | Why evangelize according to Jer 31:34? | Jer 31:34 | you | 233869
My point is that someone who accepted there was a new covenant based on Jer 31 would expect that God transforms their heart without someone needing to share with them. The Jer 31 passage just says God forgives but mentions no dependencies with it. I know what the NT teaches but I don't see how someone coming from that perspective would recognize it as the same thing or necessary.
56 | How can Jews accept the Christs divinity | John 1:1 | you | 233867
Just wondering how someone Jewish would come to that conclusion not questioning whether its true.
57 | His diff relation to Creation Gen ch 1-2 | Genesis | you | 233855
So it is clear that neither you nor heman have any basis for the claims you make about the meaning of YHWH or Elohim. That neither of you really understood John 1:1. And you didnt deal with the clearer implicatons of YHWH not being the same as Jesus based on Matt 22:44 and Psalm 110:1. YHWH says to my Anon sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. Have you read Phil 2:5-7? |

58 | His diff relation to Creation Gen ch 1-2 | Genesis | you | 233854
I am not sure how you have such confidence in the meaning of a word that you don't have the correct vocalization for to tell how it should be parsed. Biblical Hebrew verb tenses are also not specifically past, present or future. I see a Karite document www.karaite-korner.org/yhwh_2.pdf that discusses possibilities. You might find a Rabbinic one from a Reform scholar. If you are relating it to Ex 3:14 then Pratico says on page 305 of Basics of Biblical Hebrew 'This construction allows for "I am who/what I am" or "I will be who/what I will be."'
