41 | 3 baptisms or 1, or... | Col 2:12 | dasev | 57095
Dear Makarios, allow me to "weigh in" on something here, by asking if God is powerful enough to have made the heavens and the earth in six days, is He then not able to protect His book as a record? this is why i believe that WITH the Holy Spirit the Message of the written word is infallable. without the Holy Spirit the bible is mostly misunderstood. dasev

dear tetragram 123, i'm not sure i find a question here, but i hear what you are saying. the question seems to be something about women in ministry. ame i correct? dasev

45 | isn'tr it different for the saved? | 1 Cor 10:5 | dasev | 49234
dear joe, possible to overcome sin. i am to the extent of my divinely blessed efforts to repent not the habitiual sinner i was before salvation. yes i still sin even willfully at times but it is with greater awareness of sins wages and with a shame i did not know when i was unsaved.

47 | Please help me clarify Matt. 2:14,15 | Matt 2:14 | dasev | 48662
dear mike, Jesus did both go in and come out just as the children of Israel went in(joseph, then later jacob and all his sons), and came out(led by moses). the emphasis is on coming out, being delivered out of bondage. Jesus, escaped the wrath of Herod, we escape the wrath of God.
48 | isn'tr it different for the saved? | 1 Cor 10:5 | dasev | 48661
dear sandra 25, study the word and concept:apostasy. some people believe that only a saved person can become an apostate, and that it is a condition and position one cannot repent oneself of. one might consider the believers job description as doer of the good, shunner of sin.
49 | isn'tr it different for the saved? | 1 Cor 10:5 | dasev | 48657
dear one, it has to be possible to overcome sin, or else the charge to repent would be meanongless. further, if one is "always abounding in the work of the Lord", there is no time for sin. after a certain point in ones understanding the Lords abhorrance of sin should lead one to prize obediance to His Word and word more than the pleasures of sin. dasev
50 | what does baptism reveal to the world? | Acts 2:38 | dasev | 46595
dear one, ones baptism by water declares the persons pledge of a clean conscience toward God. it should be done with full trust in God, through Christ's shed blood, that ones sins are forgiven, that there in no other means of approaching God for salvation except through Christ, and that one is symbolically acknowledging their recption of the Gift of God. it is further correctly understood to be only an outward acknowledgment of the inward act of faith to trust Christ and God only for salvation. one must understeand the important essential need for remorse for sin, and repentance from sin. this is the witness that should be known in the church. what the world may understand only the Lord knows. the bottom line is that the world of a persons friends, co-workers, and family hopefully may learn that the person has made a decision: about who Jesus is and to follow His teaching. davev
51 | Who may receive the baptism of the H.S.? | Acts 2:38 | dasev | 46593
dear one, many think so, but they are in danger of rejecting if not blasphemeing God. dasev
52 | legitimacy of the bible | Bible general Archive 1 | dasev | 44350
dear jenbrock, if he doesn't trust Christ now the inspiration of the bible may not be the real focus. he would likely believe that there is no one true god and therefore the focus will be on the veracity of the person of Jesus the Christ and God the Father. a question to ask him might be that "if God is, and if He is the Creator and Sustainer of all that is, could he not, in from that place of supreme power inspire and cause to be written a book of truth about himself in the context of the history of man? and having done so is He then not also able in his wisdom and power to protect it's integrity and communicate truths of Himself to mankind? the focus will always come back on God; is He real, who is He. the challenge will be to direct this man to consider what the bible says about God and wether or not these things are true. i would further recommend rzi ministries they're on the net at rzim.org i think. Ravi Zacharias is from India and an evangelist/apologist to the intellectual elite. he is the best! ask me more specific Questions if you want. dasev
53 | Jehovah witness | Rev 19:10 | dasev | 44341
dear one, a favorite topic of mine as i am often confronted by them here in baltimore md. their history begins with one charles taze russel, a disgruntled "son of the church" who found, as do so many, the doctrine of hell abhorrent to his conception of a god of love. so the movement began, and within not so many years, the were repleat with sundry hrertical doctrines (some not original to them) and a new translation of the bible, called the "new world translation" if memory serves me. so what else do you want to know? dasev

57 | Pure joy in Heaven? | Rev 7:9 | dasev | 41580
dear ones, well i suppose if we don't recognize our loved ones someone there just might introduce us to them. seriously though the joy and peace of heaven passes understanding, and has no need of linguistic explanation, but need of faith to receive it, and as much as possible the foretaste of it! my own heart tells me that those who reject Christ must face their consequences and though in heaven i'll not miss them in grief, here and now is the time to beseech the Lord for their salvation. a good comparison is King David, who, finished his grieving fasting after his son died, and found peace with God in the situation he knew he could not change. wot say ye? dasev

59 | Jesus' name baptism? | Acts 2:38 | dasev | 41576
dear everyone the Spirit of God really rises up in me having discovered this seemingly endless and in somecases perhaps mindless "discussion" of baptisms and the Godhead. i'm not going to share the understanding i have; by the Spirit of the Lord i think; but rather, as Jesus often did respond with a rebuke to the ones who tested His wisdom with questions intended to satisfy their need to know better than He did. for many of you appear to battle this war of words not out of a need to say the truth but of a need to be "right" or correct on the cyberspace streetcorner; matthew 23:5,6,7. the question is this: what since the hour of your rebirth have you IMMERSED your self in daily? is it the river of Life? or what else as outside of Christ is only death. so much talk about the HOLY name of Jesus. are you baptised as well in His LORDSHIP, that is in His BEING of Supreme Authority? are you also baptised in the name of Christ, that is in ha Machiach, the Messiah, THE Annointed Savior, first of the Jew THEN of the Gentile? what and whom have you immersed your self in? you might as well start with 1 cor 11:18,19 and James 3:1. also proverbs 10:19 and 18:21. also revelation 2:2 to 5,15. the shame of the church is that it often knows 2 Timothy 3:16 and 17, but is ignorant of 2 Peter 1:20 and 21. if we did we would also hear Hebrews 4:12 and fear. Job 28:28. if there is anyone who is unsure of baptismal doctrine, or that of the Godhead, and sincerely troubled in their soul on account of it, i would be happy to share my thoughts, reach me at jnthrsvntnathotmail.com |

dear one, i can't disprove the rapture, see 1 thessalonians 4:17. perhaps the reference to letting the Holy Spirit speak through us is matthew 10:16 to 20. wot say ye? dasev
