41 | sarah and abraham children | Gen 11:30 | canawedding | 193363
Ge 11:30: And Sarai was barren. She had no child. Ge 15:2. And Abram said, O Lord Yahweh, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and he that shall be possessor of my house is Eliezer of Damascus? Ge 16:1: Now Sarai, Abram's wife, bare him no children. And she had a handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. Ge 16:15: And Hagar bare Abram a son. And Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bare, Ishmael. Ge 17:15-16, 19: And God said unto Abraham, as for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. 16. And I will bless her, and moreover I will give thee a son of her. Yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations. Kings of peoples shall be of her ... 19. And God said, Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son. And thou shalt call his name Isaac. And I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him. |

Lk 24: 44. And He said unto them, These are my Words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must needs be fulfilled which are written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms, concerning me. [Remember Mt 5:1-20.] 45. Then opened He their mind, that they might understand the Scriptures [And, that has not changed. Read Ps 119; Mt 23:8-12; Jn 6:45.] 46. and He said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day 47. and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His Name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. [Read 1Pe 1.] 48. Ye are witnesses of these things. 49. And behold, I send forth the Promise of my Father upon you but tarry ye in the city until ye be clothed with Power from on High. Ac 1: 4. and, being assembled together with them, He charged them not to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the Promise of the Father, which, said He, ye heard from me. 5. For John indeed baptized with water but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days hence. [John the Baptist said the same Gospel Truth 4 times and Peter said it once as well in Ac 11 when he realized he had opposed God!] 8. But ye shall receive Power when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the Earth. [Is this Power for all true Christians?] Ro 1: 16. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel; for it is the Power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Greek (non-Jews). [How do we receive this Power of God? Paul told everyone in Ro 1:16-21 in plain language and he was expounding Scripture such as Mt 6:33 and Mk 1:14-15. We must seek first and find first in order to find the narrow Gate that leads to the narrow Road that few will find, Mt 7.] Use a concordance and study how the words "Believe", "Faith", "Gift", "Repent", "Righteousness", "Obey", "Power", "Promise" and their variations are used in the entire NT. |

43 | John 14:26 | John 3:5 | canawedding | 193360
Originally, there were no chapters and no verses in the Scriptures. Jn 3:1-21 is not about physical water; it is continued in Jn 4 and actually Jn 3 is also a continuation of Jn 1; Jn 2:1-11 just as Jn 7:37-39 is about the same Living Water of Jn 4:1-26 and the Water of Life in Rev 21-22; etc. Nicodemus was not ignorant about human birth but he was ignorant about something else and Jesus Christ did not excuse him. What did Nicodemus not know that he should have known as a teacher of Israel? Read Ro 1-8 about that same "flesh" of Jn 3:1-21. How must we go from the Law of Sin and Death to the Law of the Spirit of Life? The answer is very simple and it can be written in a very short paragraph. Those who have held on to Jesus Christ's Teaching will know His Truth and His Truth has set us free, Jn 8.
44 | Is there more evidence? | James 1:1 | canawedding | 193325
1Pe 1:22. Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the Truth unto unfeigned Love of the brethren, Love one another from the heart fervently [This is written for everyone who wants to be saved since we must Love our neighbor as ourself.] 23. having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible, through the Word of God, which liveth and abideth. [Here Peter told everyone how we must be born again through the Word of God. Compare to Jn 3:1-21. Where is the "Word of God" mentioned in Jn 3:1-21? How is it symbolized in Jn 3:1-21?] 24. For, All flesh is as grass, And all the glory thereof as the flower of grass. The grass withereth and the flower falleth 25. But the Word of the Lord abideth forever. And this is the Word of good tidings which was preached unto you ... 1Pe 4:14. If ye are reproached for the Name of Christ, blessed are ye because the Spirit of Glory and the Spirit of God resteth upon you. 15. For let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evil-doer or as a meddler in other men's matters 16. but if a man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God in this Name. 17. For the time is come for Judgment to begin at the House of God and if it begin first at us, what shall be the end of them that obey not the Gospel of God? 18. And if the Righteous is scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and sinner appear? 19. Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing unto a faithful Creator. Peter was writing to everyone who has been born again through the Living and Enduring Word of God, telling them not to be ashamed to suffer as a Christian. |

45 | When are names put in the Book of Life | Heb 6:4 | canawedding | 193324
Mt 13: 20. And he that was sown upon the rocky places, this is he that heareth the Word, and straightway with joy receiveth it; 21. yet hath he not root in himself, but endureth for a while; and when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the Word, straightway he stumbleth. 22. And he that was sown among the thorns, this is he that heareth the Word; and the care of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the Word, and he becometh unfruitful. 2Pe 2: 20. For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first. 21. For it were better for them not to have known the Way of Righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the Holy Commandment delivered unto them. 22. It has happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire. Mt 7: 21. Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in Heaven. 22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy Name and by thy Name cast out demons and by thy Name do many mighty works? 23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work iniquity. |

46 | When are names put in the Book of Life | Heb 6:4 | canawedding | 193323
Hello BradK, In Mt 6:33 Jesus Christ told us to seek first God's Kingdom and God's Righteousness. That same Righteousness is what Paul wrote so much about in Romans, Galatians and elsewhere. Ro 1:16-21 is an excellent summary of those Scriptures: 16. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel; for it is the Power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. [What, exactly, is it that we must believe after we seek first and find?] 17. For therein is revealed a Righteousness of God from Faith unto Faith as it is written: But the Righteous shall live by Faith. 18. For the Wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the Truth in unrighteousness 19. because that which is known of God is manifest in them for God manifested it unto them. 20. For the invisible things of Him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even His everlasting Power and Divinity, that they may be without excuse 21. because that knowing God, they glorified Him not as God, neither gave thanks but became vain in their reasonings and their senseless heart was darkened. [Is the lie of Ro 1:25 the very same lie of 2Th 2? Yes, it is. What we must seek first and find can be found in Mt 1-13. What we must find first involves the narrow Gate and the narrow Road that few will find. Also, keep in mind Mk 1:14-15. What is it, exactly, that we must believe?]
47 | John 14:26 | John 3:5 | canawedding | 193322
The Water of Jn 3 is the same Water of Jn 4:1-26 and Rev 21-22 as well as a multitude of other Scriptures in the OT and NT. Remember, originally there were no chapters or verses! The Water of Jn 3 is the Water that must wash us "whiter than snow", Ps 51; Isa 1-2. Nicodemus didn't need a lesson in human birth but as one who claimed to be a teacher there was something he should have known but didn't. Did Jesus Christ excuse him? No, He did not.
48 | Is anxietyand fear sinful? | Philippians | canawedding | 193298
Jesus Christ said: Mt 6:33-34: But seek ye first His Kingdom and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. 34. Be not therefore anxious for the morrow, for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Paul wrote: Php 4:4-7: Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, Rejoice! 5. Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6. In nothing be anxious but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7. And the Peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. What Paul wrote was for those who do "rejoice in the Lord always". What Jesus Christ said was for those who would seek first as He told us to do. |

A person is not born again ("born from above" is another way to translate born again) without God's Holy Spirit baptism. Paul wrote about that baptism in Scriptures such as 1Co 12:12-13 and Eph 4:4-7. What "Water" is that in Jn 3:1-21? Is it the same "Water" of Jn 4:1-26? Is it the same "Water" of 1Jn 5? Is it the same "Water" of Rev 21-22?
50 | When are names put in the Book of Life | Heb 6:4 | canawedding | 193296
Jesus Christ warned against it in Scriptures such as Mt 13. Heb 6 is very clear. So is Rev 2-3. Read Lk 24; Jn 20. Jesus Christ had to breathe on His disciples before they could fully understand the Scriptures then, do you think He has changed? I don't think He has changed and we certainly aren't any better than His first disciples. We must all seek first as we were commanded in Mt 6:33. We must find first so we can go through the narrow Gate and on to the narrow Road. Paul wrote about Mt 6:33 in Ro 1:16-21. What, exactly, did you find?
51 | Chinese - descendants of Shem | Titus 3:9 | canawedding | 193280
Dear Azure, My reply had the best intentions and thankfully i do think you understand that. Here is more on the subject: Gal 3: 26. For ye are all sons of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus. 27. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ. 28. There can be neither Jew nor Greek, there can be neither bond nor free, there can be no male and female; for ye all are one man in Christ Jesus. 29. And if ye are Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, heirs according to promise. Read Ro 4 about those who are Children of Abraham. Be sure to read Lk 24; Ac 1:1-11 to see what baptism that Scriptures is about. And, "through faith" is the faith we must have in what we find first according to Mt 6:33. This is most critical, anne robare |

Titus 3:9: but shun foolish questionings, and genealogies, and strifes, and fightings about law; for they are unprofitable and vain. Read 1Co 1-3. Everyone, who is truly saved will have "the Mind of Christ" and this is most critical to salvation. It all begins where Jesus Christ told us to begin, in Mt 6:33. We must find first what He wants us to find and it has everything to do with the narrow Gate and narrow Road that few will find.
53 | What was the name given to Jesus? | John 17:11 | canawedding | 193276
Rev 19:13: ... and His Name is called The Word of God. Ac 2:21: And it shall be, that whosoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. Ro 10:12. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him: 13. for, Whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. 1Pe 1: 22. Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the Truth unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from the heart fervently: 23. having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the Word of God, which liveth and abideth. 24. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my Word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life. 25. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the Voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.
54 | MY CHILD KNOWS MY VOICES | Rev 1:15 | canawedding | 193275
Read Jn 10. The sheep know the Shepherd's Voice and they will not listen to strangers. Read Rev 1 about His Voice. What "Waters" are those? Begin with Mt 6:33 and believe Jn 6:45.
55 | When are names put in the Book of Life | Heb 6:4 | canawedding | 193273
Read Mt 13. There are some who receive the Word of God with joy but they can fall away of their own choice. Read Heb 6 regarding those who have been enlightened who fall away of their own choice. Read Heb 10 about those who shrink back of their own choice. Read Rev 2-3 to see what Jesus Christ told the churches that symbolized all churches of all the church ages. What He told them, He also told us. Read Lk 14 about building a tower and not being able to complete it. Look for the words: patient endurance, stand fast, stand firm.
56 | 1JN4 Testing the spirits | 1 John 1:1 | canawedding | 193218
Read 1Jn 1-5 very carefully in full context more than once. Also, read Lk 24; Ac 1-2 very carefully more than once. Especially notice Ac 2:21,25,34,36,39,47. Anyone can say the words, 'Jesus Christ is Lord' but not everyone knows why. Read Mt 16:16-17; Gal 1:16. The great apostles had to have a critical Gospel Truth revealed to them and that has not changed. Study Righteousness in the entire NT.
57 | I will pour out of My Spirit | Acts 2:17 | canawedding | 193178
You wrote "actively standing in faith". After John the Baptist went to prison, not before but after, Jesus Christ began His earthly Ministry. He commanded us all to repent and believe. Believe what, exactly? Have faith in what, exactly? Does His command in Mk 1:14-15 have anything to do with Mt 6:33? Yes, everything. There are many types of faith but in Eph 4:4-7, we read about one faith as well as one baptism and one body and One Spirit and One Lord and One God and Father of us all. In Ac 2, the 3000 believed what Peter declared through the Power of God's Holy Spirit, 1Pe 1:12 and because they believed, they sincerely repentent and the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved, Ac 2. How? Read Lk 24; Ac 1-2; 1Pe 1 very carefully.

Obey Mt 5-7; Lk 6. Exceed the OT Law and learn to turn the other cheek. Jesus Christ did not come to bring the kind of peace that the world gives but Peace with the Father, Jn 14.
