41 | do u tithe on unemployment checks | 1 Tim 1:8 | Val | 220651
The book of Hebrews deals with the abolishment of the law. We are under a new covenant. The law was given to God's people Israel. The tithe is not repeated in the new testament. I am sure it pains pastor of churches and possibly other organizations to hear these words. A lot of people love to spend other people's money whether it be in tithes and offerings or taxes.

44 | Is Salvation lump sum? | Heb 7:25 | Val | 220054
Just a side note. Other words for sin are evil, wickedness, inquity and deeds whether good or bad. Judging the world means the people of the world; the lost at the white throne judgment. The saved at the bema seat for rewards.

46 | destruction of earth | Gen 8:21 | Val | 219911
You and you son can take a concordance and look up the word God and in every verse where the word God is used, turn to that verse in the bible. You with your son read the verse and the verses surrounding that verse asking the question who is talking, who is He talking to, where is He, why does He say this, what will be the results, how does this occur. Ask these type questions of the text and ask if there are any lessons for your life. Also most important pray with your son first then look up a verse. Make it a goal to complete one verse a day.

Read Genesis 8:21 again. The promise is "every living thing".
48 | Inherited Sin Nature | John 3:16 | Val | 219865
I am not sure what you are looking for. A cross reference for 2 Samuel 13:23 is Gen 37:35 in which they call the place of the dead Sheol. When Samuel spoke to Saul in I Samuel 28:19 Samuel was telling Saul in essence that he would die in the battle tomorrow, him and his sons. We understand that they would go to Sheol. I don't think the idea of the two compartments was understood until it was revealed in the new testament talking about the rich man and Lazarus. There is a passage in Ephesians 4:8-10 hints that Christ took those in the compartment called Abraham's bosom to heaven with Him. There will be a bodily resurrection when Christ returns and brings the souls of those in heaven with him and their bodies will be joined together and they will be changed as is stated in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. Notice verse 14 where He says He will bring with Him...
49 | destruction of earth | Gen 8:21 | Val | 219843
The Lord Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:6 and 7 And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of war; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Matthew 24:44-51 |

50 | Heb. 6:4-6 Security | Gen 1:1 | Val | 219842
Scripture is always interpreted in light of the whole counsel of God, the whole 66 books of the bible. The language in these verses does not support that the "those" in these verses were saved. It does not use the words which describe a saved person such as justified, righteous. |

51 | Heb. 6:4-6 Security | Gen 1:1 | Val | 219814
In the Colossians 1:21-23 passage the 23rd verse says "if you continue" in the faith. This verse does not mean that continuing in the faith is what saves you. It means that the proof of your salvation is continuing in the faith. Paul explains that salvation is by grace alone through faith. Adding this verse to grace would be adding something else, in this case;works. I looked up the Galatians passage but do not see your point from this passage. The Hebrews 3:6, 14 again speaks of the proof of salvation; not the means of salvation. Whichever phrase one uses should not matter. Perseverance of the Saints, Once Saved Always Saved. The same conclusion is reached. Both teach that salvation cannot be lost. It is not new Christians that hold to these passages that they believe salvation can be lost; it is entire denominations. One comes to mind is the Nazarenes. There is a comedian in the south. A christian comedian and she says her cousin has been lost and saved a dozen times. On the other side there are those who may have assurance of salvation from man but not from God. Therefore the terminology is not the problem, it is man. |

52 | Truth or Consequences | John 3:16 | Val | 219812
In respect to the Jeremiah 31:33-34 passage, John Calvin explains the passage to mean that the Holy Spirit aids the believer in carrying out the will of God which is obedience to His word. As John Calvin states its not a different law. It is the same law. The Holy Spirit enables us to obey God and not be a slave to sin. Here is Calvin's explanation. The Law was written on stones, and was therefore a letter. But the Gospel — what is it? It is spirit, that is, God not only addresses his word to the ears of men and sets it before their eyes, but he also inwardly teaches their hearts and minds. This is then the solution of the question: the Prophet speaks of the Law in itself, as apart from the Gospel, for the Law then is dead and destitute of the Spirit of regeneration. He afterwards says, I will put my Law in their inward parts By these words he confirms what we have said, that the newness, which he before mentioned, was not so as to the substance, but as to the form only: for God does not say here, “I will give you another Law,” but I will write my Law, that is, the same Law, which had formerly been delivered to the Fathers. He then does not promise anything different as to the essence of the doctrine, but he makes the difference to be in the form only. But he states the same thing in two ways, and says, that he would put his law in their inward parts, and that he would write it in their hearts.
53 | Inherited Sin Nature | John 3:16 | Val | 219782
I respectfully disagree. There were two places one could go in that time. One was to Abraham's bosom. The other was to Hades. As the poor man went to Abraham's bosom so also did David and Samuel. We are not told where Saul went.
54 | Inherited Sin Nature | John 3:16 | Val | 219779
There is the word OR between innocent and righteous. The topic you chose to discuss is very difficult in that it is not addressed in the bible. The only place I can think of is when Davids baby died and David said something to the effect that someday I will go to see him. There are times in our life that we lose friends and family that we are not 100 percent sure where they will spend eternity. A loving pastor comforted me with these words. You can know that your loved one is in the hands of a righteous and just God. Trust Him God the father and His Son our Lord Jesus Christ. May you find His peace.
55 | Soul is Born, Inserted into the Body? | John 3:16 | Val | 219760
There are some things the Lord has already judged. This is one of them. Exodus 23 b do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I wll not acquit the guilty. People don't want to be judged but we all will give an account for how we live. You don't have to be a wise guy cause you don' like the answers. We are told to warn people about the judgement to come. If you take offense to the truth your offense is with the Lord not me.
56 | Soul is Born, Inserted into the Body? | John 3:16 | Val | 219737
There are some things the Lord has not specifically told us. There are some things He has told us such as that He is the one who is the Creator of all the things in the earth, heavens, and seas. Anytime we usurp His role as Creator we are treading on dangerous ground. Be very careful in how you deal with God's creation. You will be held accountable by Him.
57 | Lost- backsliding; can't have kids | John 3:16 | Val | 219735
You will find peace when you accept your station in life. Develop a thankful heart. Make the most of the life you have been given. Seek the Lord for forgiveness of sins, wisdom and healing for your broken heart. Saturate yourself in his word daily. Think on things that are pure. Believe in Christ and His finished work on the cross. Remember that this is not a perfect world. Everyone who is a believer in Jesus has a cross to bear. When we go to be with the lord He will wipe away every tear. There are people worse off than you. Some have lost children. Some have rebellious children. Accept the life you have been given. Be thankful for life. Look around you for things to be thankful for and count your blessings. Determine to serve the Lord.
58 | isaiah7;13 | Luke | Val | 219698
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, Luke 1:27 to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. Luke 1:28 And coming in, he said to her, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you." Luke 1:29 But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was. Luke 1:30 The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. Dan 8:16 And I heard the voice of a man between the banks of Ulai, and he called out and said, "Gabriel, give this man an understanding of the vision." Dan 8:17 So he came near to where I was standing, and when he came I was frightened and fell on my face; but he said to me, "Son of man, understand that the vision pertains to the time of the end." Luke 1:19 The angel answered and said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news. In the account of Gabriel appearing to Daniel he was frightened in his presence. We see that Mary was told not to be afraid. We may conclude from this that there was something about the angels appearance that would frighten a human being. We are not given those details. |

To answer question number one the source for my answer which was given in the original post was Genesis Chapter 3 and 6 and the book of Acts. More answers and scriptures were given by stjohn, BradK, DocTrinsograce, CDBJ and BMyers which apply to questions one and two. No need to apologize. I have not had time to be on the computer these past few days. If you want to ask me the two questions again I will compile an answer for you. If not that is fine too. It would help if you would fill out your profile so we can know a little bit about your background. When a person does not fill out their profile it is hard to measure how detailed an answer needs to be. There are all types of people who come here from all sorts of backgrounds. Filling out the profile is appropriate. One of the forum members asked you to do this. I hope you will consider it.
