42 | is man still being created in God's ima | Gen 1:26 | Sctt | 45160
Hi ladyk The Gen. account of Adam being in the image of God was a prophesy of Christ. Let me explain were I'm comming from. GEN.1:26 Let us make man in our image , after our likeness. The question has to be asked what does God look like if man is to be made in his image? Jn.4:24 says God is a spirit , now we know that a spirit has no material body so how then are we too be made in his image? The image that man is to have is the reflection of God. When God looks at us he must see himself , just as when we look in a mirror and see ourself. This then is the image of God , I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. When God sees this we are in his image. What then can be said about “ after our likeness”? Likeness and image go together , you cannot have one without the other. Likeness is to have Gods nature , and you cannot have Gods image without his nature. Now I must ask you did the first man Adam have Gods image and likeness? If you believe he did then I must ask how then did he sin? We know that God cannot sin and if Adam had all Gods attributes how did he sin? Therefore we must look for one who was made with the image and likeness of God. The man Jesus Christ is the only one who fits the description , and we now though him will be made also into the image and likeness of God. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 1CO.15:45. Therefore we have the first prophecy of the coming of Jesus Christ our Lord “ Let us make man in our image , after our likeness”. GEN.1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Verse 27 shows that God was indeed looking forward to Jesus Christ when he said “ lets make man in our image , after our likeness , for he says he created them male and female and we know that only in Christ Jesus is male and female made one. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. GAL.3:28. Now lets look at male and female separately , you can see a time difference between when they were made. How much time? the bible does not say , but Adam had time to name all the living creatures that God had made before woman was created. This could have been a twenty four hour day , or a month or even years , for God created the living creatures in abundance. Male and female were created in Gods image , but because we can see there is a time difference between when they were created we can see that God was looking ahead when he said male and female created he them. To what time was he looking forward? To the time of the cross of Christ , were male and female will no longer be separated but joined together in Christ. One more thought to show that this is not Adam that God created in his own image , but a looking forward to Jesus Christ that is the fulfillment of the scripture. JN.3:31 , 34-35 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 1CO.15:45-49 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Thank God that in Christ we can now fulfill the scripture in the image of God created he him ; male and female created he them. Therefore we have the first prophecy of man being made into Gods image through Christ Jesus. So we can see that verses 26 and 27 is a prophecy of Christ and us in Christ. All scripture from KJV. No man before Christ was made in the image of God ,this includes the natural man (Adam) In Christ Scott |

44 | Was the serpent satan or just a serpent? | Gen 3:1 | Sctt | 44709
Hi Chynna The serpent is unregenerated man (man without Christ in his life)Heres my reasoning. GEN.3:1-7 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden. Who is this serpent that is so subtil ( crafty , sly , shrewd ) and has the gift of speech? Unregenerated man ( man without Christ in his life ). Who else but man has the gift of speech , and can reason. You may say a parrot can talk but can it reason? Balaams ass spoke but it was God that opened her mouth NU.22:28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam. Nowhere is it said that God opened the mouth of the serpent. This serpent has the gift of speech and can still talk and reason today. Now some have said that the serpent lost its gift of speech as part of its punishment , but nowhere in the bible does it say this. Therefore we must conclude that the serpent can still talk today. Who else is this then but Unregenerated man. Now this serpent ( man ) comes and reasons with the woman to deceive her into disobedience to Gods command. Now in order to understand how the woman was deceived we have to look at what God says concerning the tree of Knowledge of good and evil. GEN.2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. What is this tree that can bring death to man? Now we know that death comes because of sin RO.5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin. Therefore we can see that it is sin that brings death to man , but what brings us the knowledge of what sin is? The law. RO.3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Therefore the tree of knowledge of good and evil is the law for by eating of the tree death entered into the world. Now is the knowledge of good and evil ( the law ) sin RO.7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. So then if the eating of the law was not sin what was? Was it not in the breaking of the commandment THOU SHALT NOT, the fruit itself was not the sin , for after God created all the trees He saw that it was good.Gen.1:12 So then why did God command man not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil if there was nothing sinful in the fruit. Is it not because God placed a covering over man in the commandment THOU SHALT NOT , so that man would not see his sinful nature (remember man was created outside of the garden ) because when man sees himself though the eyes of a righteous God his sins overwhelm him and he runs and hides from God , just as Adam hid himself when his eyes became open. Where else do we find the phase THOU SHALT NOT is it not in the commandments that God set down for all men. (Ten commandments ) Therefore the phase THOU SHALT NOT is a commandment of covering , if we listen to it we do not eat of our sinful nature, but we have a foreshadowing of the covering that Jesus Christ gives us. Therefore it was not the eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil that was mans sin but the breaking of the commandment THOU SHALT NOT.In Christ Scott |

45 | Are the Nephilim descendants of Adam? | Gen 6:4 | Sctt | 46059
Hi sparrow This might help.Gen2 Verse 7 says And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Now this is not a retelling of Ch.1:26-27 for this is speaking of the natural man or the first man Adam. You can see from verse 7 that man was formed of the dust of the ground , that God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 1CO.15:45 explains this to be the first man Adam , And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Now does this sound like he ( Adam) was made in the image of God? No , because 1Co.15:45 places a difference between living soul ( Adam ) and quickening spirit ( Christ ). Therefore verse 7 is speaking of the natural man. Now what else in verse 7 shows this to be the natural man , it says that he was formed of the dust of the ground. Now the word formed comes from the Hebrew word yatsar meaning to squeeze or mold into shape , it has the same meaning as the word potter in JER.18:6. Therefore you can see that we are to be molded as the potter molds the clay , but molded into what? The image of God! and you cannot obtain His image except though Christ. We have in verse 7 the first time the word LORD appears in connection with man. Now we Know that the LORD is in reference to Christ our redeemer and deliverer as seen in IS.53:1-12. So then we can see that man is to be redeemed though Christ. Now how is this natural man to be made into the image of God? First we have to go back to Gen.1:24 to see when the natural man was created. It says And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind , now this living creature is the natural man ( mankind with all the different races ) for the words living creature and living soul have the same meaning , they come from the same Hebrew words chay- living and nephesh - creature , soul. Now the word nephesh has this meaning in the Hebrew , 1) soul, self, life, creature, person, appetite, mind, living being, desire, emotion, passion 1a) that which breathes, the breathing substance or being, soul, the inner being of man 1b) living being 1c) living being (with life in the blood) 1d) the man himself, self, person or individual 1e) seat of the appetites 1f) seat of emotions and passions 1g) activity of mind 1g1) dubious 1h) activity of the will 1h1) dubious 1i) activity of the character 1i1) dubious strong's lexicon Therefore you can see by this that the living creature and the living soul are both man. Now it can be argued that animals have all these attributes , this is true and man without God is a brute beast JUDE:8 Therefore the living creature created in GEN.1:24 is mankind. Lets look at the creature in the New Testament MK.16:15 says Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. COL.1:14 says that Jesus is the firstborn of every creature. 2CO.5:17 says Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Read RO.1:1-32 and see what man is like without Christ in his life. Therefore we can see by these scriptures that man was not made in the image of God until Christ came. You can see by this that more then one race of man was created in the beginning. There is you answer to who are the Nephilim. In Christ Scott |

46 | Are the Nephilim descendants of Adam? | Gen 6:4 | Sctt | 46122
Hi Tim good to here from you again first if you read Gen. 1:24 it says And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature (nephesh) after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. Now read Gen.2:7 7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul ( nephesh). Creature and soul both come from the Hebrew word nephesh. Lets look at a few more verses were nephesh is man. Gen.9:5 5And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life(nephesh) of man. Gen.12:5 5And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls(nephesh) that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. Gen.14:21 21And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons,(nephesh) and take the goods to thyself. Ex.12:16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man(nephesh) must eat, that only may be done of you. The word nephesh appears 753 times in the OT and almost all (if not all ) deal with man. Now you bring out that the word nephesh in the Greek means psuche. Well lets look at this word in the NT. 1Co.15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul(psuche); the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. This is in direct relation to Gen.1:24 ,2:7 So you could say the first man Adam was made a living Nephesh. Mt 10:39 He that findeth his life(psuche, nephesh) shall lose it: and he that loseth his life(psuche, nephesh) for my sake shall find it. Psuche is used 105 times in the NT and again almost always in conection to man. So you can see by these two words nephesh and psuche that the living creature is man. Now as to the word ktisis lets look at it. It is used in Gods creative works , in the creation of the world and also of man. Ro.8:19-22 shows this very well For the earnest expectation of the creature(ktisis) waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20For the creature(ktisis) was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21Because the creature(ktisis) itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation(ktisis) groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. So when I used this ktisis in Mk.16:15, Col.1:15,2Cor.5:17 it is to show how man is to be made into the image of God. From a natural man into a spiritual man. So then you have the living creature (natural man ) God takes this natural man and places him in the garden to be made into His image. Now you meantion the creation of Adam and Eve ,I have on another thread posted my view on who they are. I’ll give a very quick run down here Adam was a prophesy of Jesus Christ and Eve was a prophesy of us in Christ. If you would like me to repost these views here I would be happy to explain myself further. All scripture taken from the KJV. In Christ Scott |

47 | Are the Nephilim descendants of Adam? | Gen 6:4 | Sctt | 46272
Hi Tim I think you misunderstand what i’m saying. There is a natural account and a spiritual (prophetical) account of the creation of man. The natural man was created in Gen.1:24 he is the living creature. Then in verse 26-27 God says lets make man into our image , these two verses are a prophesy of Christ and us in Christ. Then God shows us how the natural man is to be made into His image , by making a garden and putting man into the garden to be trained up in obedience to Him. As I am always finding that I have to defend my views I would like to ask A couple of questions to those who hold to the traditional view of the creation account 1) If the traditional view is right and Adam was created in innocents how is this in Gods image? 2) if you say he was perfect how then did he sin. 3) 1Co.15:45 says Adam was made a living soul (creature) Does this sound like he was made in the image of god? 4) 1 Co.15:47 says the first man is of the earth earthy is this the image of God? is God earthy? 5)1Co.15:48 as is thr earthy, such are they also that are earthy. If you make the first man Adam into God image are you not then saying Gods image is earthy as we can see clearly here that the first Adam was of the earth? The Adam and Eve in v26-27 is a prophesy of Christ and us in Christ. Look in the same scriptures 1Co.15:45-48 and see that Christ is the only one who was made into the image of God and now because of His death and resurrection we to can be made into the image of God. In answer to your question did you hear this interpretation someplace else first or is it your own? It is what God has shown me. The traditional view held to many unanswered questions or questions that could not be answered except by conjecture ,so I took it before the Lord and this is what He has shown me. I to used to believe much the same way as what was traditionally tought but because of the questions some of which I have asked those who would defend the traditional view to answer I had to go back to the bible. May God give us all a seeing eye and a hearing ear.Amen |

Hi Tim You are right nephesh can relate to animals and man without Christ is a brute beast Jude10. So man without God is no better then an animal. Now you state that the scriptures never explain what the image of God is , but if you look 2 Co.4:4 it says In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Jesus Christ is the image of God. Also Col.1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: So you can see we do know what the image of God is. If you make the natural Adam to be in Gods image you also make him the firstborn of every creature. I thank you may have miss understood my questions let me refraze them. We know Jesus Christ is the image of God so lets look at the questions in this light. 1Co.15:45 1) Adam was made a living soul , Christ was made a quickening spirit the bible makes a difference between the natural man Adam and the spiritual man Christ, so who of these two are made in Gods image? v47 -49 2) The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Here it says that we bear the image of the earthy is this the image of God? No! but we shall bear the image of the heavenly , the image of God. How can Adam be in Gods image when the bible says he was of the earth? who then was made in Gods image ? the only one is Jesus Christ and in Him we can now also be made in Gods image. You cannot be made in Gods image except through Christ so how then could Adam have been made into Gods image when Christ was yet to come? |

52 | Please disprove rapture theory!? | Matt 10:19 | Sctt | 41642
Hi colan4 1Cor.15:51-54 This is a favorite scripture to quote by those that believe in the rapture. 51Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. Lets look at the trumpet that sounds when does it sound? At the LAST TRUMP.Take note that this is also a MYSTERY. Now lets look at another of their favorites. 1Th.4:16-18 16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Now some who believe in the rapture say the last trump is spoken of in these verses as if this explains something about the rapture. This is referring to the last trump , but what it has to do with the rapture I don’t know. The last trump to sound is sounded by the seventh angel in Rev.10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. Take note of the word sound it comes from the Greek word SALPIZO to trumpet , sound a blast, from Strong’s exhaustive concordance of the bible. Now this is the seventh angel to sound, look at what happens when the first six sound their trumpets , does this look like we will be raptured out of this world before the tribulation? Also it says that when the seventh angel begins to sound the MYSTERY of God should be finished. What mystery? the mystery that Paul spoke of in 1Co.15:51 We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. Look at 1Co.15:54 when are these things to come to pass ? When DEATH is swallowed up in victory ? 1Co.15:26 26The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. This is when death is swallowed up in victory. Now for those people that believe in a rapture explain why death is still around after the rapture , as verse 54 says ...Death is swallowed up in victory. NOTE: We will go though the tribulation thats why we must put on the whole armour of God Eph.6:13 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. |

54 | NT Church | Matt 16:18 | Sctt | 39728
To find the answer to your question go back to verses 15-16 Jesus asks his disciples whom say ye that I am. Peter says thou art the Christ, the son of the living God.Jesus then tells peter that he is blessed because God revealed that he (Jesus) was the Christ the son of God.Then he reveals to peter that upon this revalation that Jesus is the son of God that he woud build his church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.Jesus is the rock that the true church is to be built upon. The differance between the NT and OT church is the OT church believed that they could get to heaven by following the letter of the law but the law made nothing perfect , but the bringing in of a better hope (Christ) did.Heb.7:19. The NT church knows that only in Christ can we get to heaven. The OT church was waiting for the messiah the NT church has him. I hope this helps you, in God sctt

56 | When do we understand the scriptures? | Luke 24:45 | Sctt | 41841
Hi Arnie the reason that they could not understand was because He was not yet crucified. I guess its like us we see the words and here the words , but until we realise that we are crusified with Christ we cannot understand the full weight of the gospel. In Christ Scott.
57 | Crucified with Christ | Luke 24:45 | Sctt | 42002
Hi Arnie first let look at what crucified with Christ means.A good example is found in Ro.6:3-6 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. So then to be crucified with Christ is to be baptised into his death and resurrection. Now lets look at your question , Are we crucified with Christ at the point of repentance? Yes , but we see in 1Co.3:1-3 that we are to grow in this grace that Jesus bestowed on us. 1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. So then we start out as babes in Christ, but we are to grow into a perfect man , into the stature of the fulness of Christ. Eph.4:13-15 13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. I hope this is the kind of answer you were looking for. God bless, your brother in Christ Scott. |

60 | Jesus knew.......... | John 13:11 | Sctt | 42536
Hi Love , Jesus says that one of you is a devil verse70 John says this is Judas verse 71. lets look at Lu.22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. To me this is the second witness. Now to the fact that Jesus knew we have to look at predestination. Acts 1:16 says Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. Now when I look at a scripture like this I see that Judas was predestinated to be the one that was prophisied to betray Jesus. Did he have his own free will in this matter? No, I don't think so he like Pharaoh was raised up for this purpose.Ro.9:17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. So if he was raised up for this purpose were is his free will? he did what was prophiseied of him to fulfill the scriptures. Did he go to heaven or hell? I look at it this way he went through hell to get to heaven. I beleave in a restitution of all things, all things are Gods ,and all things will be restored unto Him. Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. Read 1Pet.3:18-20 and let me know your thoughts on it. All scripture taken fron KJV. I hope this helps to answer your questions. In Christ Scott. |
