Indeed, names were commonly used in ancient times to express a person's character or identity. Nonetheless, I also believe that we have a spiritual identity in Christ, and that we each have our own unique spiritual names (in contrast to our earthly names), which describes who we are more articulately in higher divine language than what any mortal tongues can master. Our spiritual names are not utterable in any mortal tongue, and we will not discover our true spiritual names until we are seated in full glory with Christ. At such time, our earthly names and identities will fade away, due to their temporal nature. Hence, I no longer so much wish to know you as Johnny, Timmy, Sally or Sarah, insofar as these are merely earthly designations. Nor do I wish to designate you as "murderer, adulterer, thief, idolater", etc., insofar as God is not a respecter of persons or earthly identities. That's not who we are spiritually. These are not our names and designations, except it be on an earthly (non-spiritual) level. But it is best for us to become spiritually focused, and see past our own earthly designations and those of others as well. - Blessings, Reighnskye |

Angel, Whimsical? Whaddaya mean whimsical? That's linguistic art! Oh wait, here's my bible verse. 1Co 1:10 ¶ Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. 46 | Am I under Jewish Law? | Rom 8:4 | Reighnskye | 135663
Doc, Prohibitions are laws. Laws restrict and condemn, no? Laws concerning lying, murder, stealing, coveting and such. All these make reference to sin. Indeed, the moral law (as demonstrated in the Law of Moses and partially represented in secular government) demonstrates the justice of God upon a sinful and fallen humanity. But moral prohibitions (laws) such as lying, murder, stealing and coveting are not remotely necessary in a spiritual place where there are no sinners. The God of Law (whether it be the Law of Moses, "moral law" or secular law systems) only manifests to a fallen humanity, who live in a morally corrupt society. Conversely, the God of Love is everywhere. PS. I'm not saying that there are multiple "Gods" here. Rather, I'm saying that God appears differently in different realms. God can appear rather ugly to sinners, but sinners cannot see God's truest form. The God of justice and moral law is merely a shadow of the God of love. This veil is removed in Christ. Although legal prohibitions (moral law, secular law, Law of Moses) are necessary to keep the sinful soul in check, no such laws ever apply to a regenerate spirit. From what source shall we find our truest identity? - 1 John 4 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. (NAS95) - Blessings, Reighnskye |

48 | Is Satan fully the god of this world? | Heb 12:26 | Reighnskye | 135661
- (oops, continued again; please check the first of three posts for context) Isaiah 14 4 that you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon, and say, "How the oppressor has ceased, And how fury has ceased! 5 "The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, The scepter of rulers 6 Which used to strike the peoples in fury with unceasing strokes, Which subdued the nations in anger with unrestrained persecution. 7 "The whole earth is at rest and is quiet; They break forth into shouts of joy. 8 "Even the cypress trees rejoice over you, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, 'Since you were laid low, no tree cutter comes up against us.' 9 "Sheol from beneath is excited over you to meet you when you come; It arouses for you the spirits of the dead, all the leaders of the earth; It raises all the kings of the nations from their thrones. 10 "They will all respond and say to you, 'Even you have been made weak as we, You have become like us. 11 'Your pomp and the music of your harps Have been brought down to Sheol; Maggots are spread out as your bed beneath you And worms are your covering.' 12 "How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! 13 "But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 14 'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.' 15 "Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit. 16 "Those who see you will gaze at you, They will ponder over you, saying, 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms, 17 Who made the world like a wilderness And overthrew its cities, Who did not allow his prisoners to go home?' 18 "All the kings of the nations lie in glory, Each in his own tomb. 19 "But you have been cast out of your tomb Like a rejected branch, Clothed with the slain who are pierced with a sword, Who go down to the stones of the pit Like a trampled corpse. 20 "You will not be united with them in burial, Because you have ruined your country, You have slain your people. May the offspring of evildoers not be mentioned forever. 21 "Prepare for his sons a place of slaughter Because of the iniquity of their fathers. They must not arise and take possession of the earth And fill the face of the world with cities." 22 "I will rise up against them," declares the LORD of hosts, "and will cut off from Babylon name and survivors, offspring and posterity," declares the LORD. - (continued from last post; please read previous post first for context) And here we see God speaking to the king of Babylon as if he were Lucifer himself. And then a similar event also occurs in the book of Ezekiel to the king of Tyre. Sorta strange talk, no? I suggest that it establishes a pattern for certain rulers, though. And will the man antichrist be exempt? Ezekiel 28 1 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, 2 "Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Because your heart is lifted up And you have said, 'I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods In the heart of the seas'; Yet you are a man and not God, Although you make your heart like the heart of God-- 3 Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; There is no secret that is a match for you. 4 "By your wisdom and understanding You have acquired riches for yourself And have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries. 5 "By your great wisdom, by your trade You have increased your riches And your heart is lifted up because of your riches-- 6 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, 'Because you have made your heart Like the heart of God, 7 Therefore, behold, I will bring strangers upon you, The most ruthless of the nations. And they will draw their swords Against the beauty of your wisdom And defile your splendor. 8 'They will bring you down to the pit, And you will die the death of those who are slain In the heart of the seas. 9 'Will you still say, "I am a god," In the presence of your slayer, Though you are a man and not God, In the hands of those who wound you? 10 'You will die the death of the uncircumcised By the hand of strangers, For I have spoken!' declares the Lord GOD!"'" 11 Again the word of the LORD came to me saying, 12 "Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 "You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. On the day that you were created They were prepared. 14 "You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 "You were blameless in your ways From the day you were created Until unrighteousness was found in you. 16 "By the abundance of your trade You were internally filled with violence, And you sinned; Therefore I have cast you as profane From the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire. 17 "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I put you before kings, That they may see you. 18 "By the multitude of your iniquities, In the unrighteousness of your trade You profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you; It has consumed you, And I have turned you to ashes on the earth In the eyes of all who see you. 19 "All who know you among the peoples Are appalled at you; You have become terrified And you will cease to be forever."'" 50 | Is Satan fully the god of this world? | Heb 12:26 | Reighnskye | 135659
Sandy, Thanks much for the scriptures: 2 Corinthians 4 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (NAS95) It seems quite clear that Satan is the god of this world in this verse, although I would suggest that his reign is not yet as complete and and widespread as it will yet be in the future. - John 12 31 "Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. (NAS95) And here we see a future event, which apparently wasn't yet fulfilled at the time of Paul's letter. - Ephesians 2 1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. (NAS95) And here is an interesting reference to the prince of the power of the "air". Some have interpreted this verse to say that Satan still has access to the heavens, as in the book of Job, and that he is not yet cast out of heaven, until a future time. - I'm not sure that I caught your Romans 12:2 verse. Were you trying to quote something else perhaps? :) - And as far as Satan physically presenting himself upon the earth is concerned, such is partially a manner of speech. The idea has to do with the fact that demons are sometimes capable of actuating the limbs of demon-possessed individuals. Mark 5 2 When He got out of the boat, immediately a man from the tombs with an unclean spirit met Him, 3 and he had his dwelling among the tombs. And no one was able to bind him anymore, even with a chain; 4 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces, and no one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Constantly, night and day, he was screaming among the tombs and in the mountains, and gashing himself with stones. (NAS95) Luke 11 24 "When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding any, it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' 25 "And when it comes, it finds it swept and put in order. 26 "Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first." (NAS95) - But will Satan himself directly possess a person? Or will the man antichrist be possessed? Re 16:13 And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs; (NAS95) Here are some possible correlations. But please check the next verses in my continued post. (continued to next post) |

How do you interpret them? - Re 12:4 And his tail *swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. Mr 13:25 AND THE STARS WILL BE FALLING from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. Re 1:20 "As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. 54 | Am I under Jewish Law? | Rom 8:4 | Reighnskye | 135645
Doc, I'm not aware of any moral "law" that exists within our universe, beyond what people write down in law books. I believe that there are divine universal "principles" which are above any of our man-made moral law systems, but these "principles" are not the same thing as "law". I am not a believer that there are any moral laws existent within the higher spiritual realms. I believe that moral laws are only existent in the lower mortal (earthly) or possibly hellish realms. I believe that when divine love and truth are cognized in the higher spiritual realms, that the lesser carnal consciousness, dominated by moral laws pertaining to sins, will fade away. Law consciousness brings sin consciousness, which plummets the soul into death. But Christ came to wash away the consciousness of sin, which acts as a destroyer of the soul. I suggest that there is no moral law in the spiritual realm. Moral law is only fit for sinners and fallen angels. - Heb 10:2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins? (NAS95) - Blessings, Reighnskye |

55 | Is Satan fully the god of this world? | Heb 12:26 | Reighnskye | 135644
Xmikx, How do we know that Satan presently rules the earth today? Isn't his earthly reign yet incomplete, that he shall find it necessary to engage in further wars upon the earth? - Certainly, Satan currently rules the hells, but Satan will not likely rule our physical earth until he inhabits the body of the man antichrist, which will be necessary for Satan to manifest in physical form upon the earth. Satan's earthly rule will not be complete, until the man antichrist (possessed by Satan) practically subjects the nations of the earth into a singular government, with the manifestation of supernatural effects. When the man antichrist is fully possessed by Satan, and is seated in a position of governmental and religious authority, then Satan can at last provide locomotion, to the arms and legs of a physical body, so as to more directly affect national events. No more middlemen, so to speak. He can then further speak to the nations of the earth directly, in the manner of word for word national addresses, through the mouth of the man antichrist, as well as author what books and laws that he may. But I suggest that Satan's dominion over the earth is not yet complete. In this sense, the evil one has not yet fulfilled divine prophecy, and must still physically walk this earth, for his reign to be complete over the nations. - Although Christ can physically materialize or supernaturally etherealize His body at any time, nonetheless Satan cannot. Although, Christ can ascend into the highest heavens or descend into the lowest hells, with little care or effort, thereby establishing his sovereignty over them, nonetheless Satan cannot. - So I ask: Is Satan the god of this world and does he presently possess complete dominion over the nations of the earth? Or is this strictly in the future? - Blessings, Reighnskye |

57 | Am I under Jewish Law? | Not Specified | Reighnskye | 135604
1. Wasn't the Old Testament Law of Moses strictly for Jews? Gentiles are not bound by the Old Testament Law of Moses are they? Since I live in the United States, I am not bound by the laws of either China, Egypt, Israel, Sweden or France. Why would I be bound by the Israeli Law of Moses? Granted, some of these laws have been partially replicated within the United States, but there are many differences also. If I am bound by any laws, I am bound to the laws of the United States. What other law holds sway over me? Romans 2 12 For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law; 13 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified. 14 For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, 15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, 16 on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus. (NAS95) - 2. Further, if we shall assume that some wild and watered-down variation of the Law of Moses holds sway over the church today, should the church not obey every last iota of the law? For example, the full observances of the Sabbath or circumcision? How is it that, if we choose to enforce the Old Testament Law of Moses on the church today, (which probably shouldn't be done in the first place), we leave out certain laws and don't go with all 613 commandents, upon the local congregation? James 2 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. 11 For He who said, "DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY," also said, "DO NOT COMMIT MURDER." Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty. (NAS95) Romans 2 17 But if you bear the name "Jew" and rely upon the Law and boast in God, 18 and know His will and approve the things that are essential, being instructed out of the Law, 19 and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, 20 a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of the immature, having in the Law the embodiment of knowledge and of the truth, 21 you, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that one shall not steal, do you steal? 22 You who say that one should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23 You who boast in the Law, through your breaking the Law, do you dishonor God? 24 For "THE NAME OF GOD IS BLASPHEMED AMONG THE GENTILES BECAUSE OF YOU," just as it is written. (NAS95) - 3. Lastly, law itself is designed specifically for lawbreakers and not for the righteous. 1 Timothy 1 8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted. (NAS95) If I am a lawbreaker, then I will bear it's penalties. However, if I am not a lawbreaker, then I am not subject to the penalties of the law. 59 | Am I bound by the Eight Covenants today? | Bible general Archive 2 | Reighnskye | 135603
Searcher, I have to agree. I really don't interpret Genesis 1:26-28 as a covenant, but rather as a command. I think many people would like to look at God's commands as covenants, so that if they don't choose to make such a covenant with God, they can escape having to obey the commands. In a sense, covenants are optional. If a person doesn't make the particular covenant, then they won't have to obey the stipulations therein. Whereas, we actually don't have a say whether we want to obey God's laws or not. The law will be enforced, whether we agree to it or not. Then again, maybe Scofield is interpreting Genesis 1:26-28 as a covenant of marriage versus a law of marriage. Adam and Eve are commanded to rule and multiply the earth. Is this optional or mandated? Is it covenant or law? And must we fulfill it today? Must we multiply and rule the earth? Genesis 1 26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth." (NAS95) - As far as covenants which are specifically made with Israel as opposed to the church, one may possibly argue that the church is spiritual Israel, and therefore all of the covenants originally made with the nation of Israel now apply to spiritual Israel (the church). Romans 9 6 But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; (NAS95) Romans 2 28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. 29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God. (NAS95) - Further, I again agree that the covenant is not the same as the law. Again, covenants are optional. If I don't make the covenant, then I won't experience the potential penalties and/or benefits thereof. Deuteronomy 23 21 "When you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay to pay it, for it would be sin in you, and the LORD your God will surely require it of you. (NAS95) Ecclesiastes 5 5 It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay. (NAS95) However, this is not so with the Law. I cannot choose which laws to obey and which not to obey, even If I can pick and choose what covenants that I wish to bind myself under. - Blessings, Reighnskye |

60 | identifying modalism: church prevalence? | Bible general Archive 2 | Reighnskye | 135538
Hank, There is certainly an innumerable score of heresies which litter our world, and indeed many have infiltrated, if not originated, from our own organized religious systems. Modalism would largely be a succession then of Father, Son and Holy Spirit? Mere manifestations of a greater cosmic God? Their are weaknesses in the doctrine, certainly, assuming we hold to the veracity of scripture. Subordinationism then places a ranking among the members of the Triune Godhead. And Tritheism asserts that there are three separate gods. Okay, that makes sense. Now, in regards to Trinity (Triunity), I've been told that it is not something that we can readily comprehend with our finite minds, but rather it can only be apprehended. Although, I'm not quite certain of the differentiation. I also view the Holy Spirit as possessing distinct personality, even as the Holy Spirit spoke with a direct voice to the early church. Acts 13 2 While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." 3 Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. (NAS95) - Although, I have many times directly experienced the flow of supernatural energies from my torso and limbs, I have been careful to differentiate between the personality of the Holy Spirit and the power of the Holy Spirit. I can easily understand how some can reduce God to a mere energy force in this sense, if they are held sway to a lesser discernment of God's divine nature. As to where in the world that I get all of my complex questions, I have been myself saturated with supernatural experience, that triggers a more delicate sensitivity to heresies within the church. I engage in a practice of fasting and wake extension, which accelerates this supernatural sensitivity. In other words, amid directly encountering a number of the members of the various archonic species, I find that I must more specifically isolate the ways that God operates. The local church has been hard-put to provide sound education concerning the intricacies of doctrine. Thus I must investigate more thouroughly, in this sense. Thank you for your clarifications on this matter of doctrine. - Blessings, Reighnskye |
