Hi African Venus, It is strange that your Professor would make this an example of genocide when there is no archaeological remains to be attributed to the Midianites, where is the evidences. Outside of the Bible, very little is known about this tribal group. Therefore, according to the Bible, Yes there were conflicts, but to conclude that God supported the deliberate extermination of a nation or people (genocide) is far fetch ideology. God loves People, but hates sin. Through the bible I somewhat understand God’s concern about the sins of Midianites and Israelis and others, but I don’t think God makes decision based on race. Beside he created the human race and located people in varies parts the world. I believe God will defeat all sin, to the point death. However, if we began to label wars as acts of genocide, especially in this particular situation between the Midianites and Israel, this action could be viewed as Israel perpetrating genocide against the people Midian.Which is not a good view of God's biblical chosen People. If your professor claims of SUPPORTED BY GOD were valid, I believe it will surround issues of sin not ethnic cleansing. Ask your Professor to clarify position, but be careful your GPA is at stake. What's the big picture here? |

48 | Numbers 31:2-10 | Josh 13:20 | Edd | 119198
Hi African Venus, Aaron is said to be the first of the priests of Israel: in fact, during the conflicts between the Midianites and Israel, according to chapter 25 and 31 of Numbers, he was not present in this particular era. Nevertheless, God made a covenant of peace with the children of Israel, declared war via Moses, with the people of Midian, but Aaron was not there. However, in my previous reply to your question: in error I placed Aaron at the scene. It wasn’t Aaron, but his descendant Phinehas son of Eleazar. . As for Aaron, he was already deceased in Numbers chapter 20:28, this oversight on my behalf was ignorance (Lack of knowledge): evidently, God is not finish with me, as of yet. In any case, Twenty-four thousand people died from a plague, in relation to sinful acts committed while indulging in the worshiper of other gods: remember, that God clearly stated in Exodus chapter 20, that he is a Jealous God. Based on Phinehas reactions to the sinful adapted lifestyle of Israel, and his zealous honor for God: the lord God honored the intent of Phinehas heart, and made atonement for the Israelites Num.25. I hope this somewhat clears up this matter; and I apologize for any confusion it may have caused, “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace….” 1 Cor.14: 33. PEACE Edd |

Let the wicked forsake his way,and the unrighteous man his thoughts:and let him return unto the LORD,and he will have mercy upon him;and to our God,for he will adundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, said the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.(ISAIAH 55:7-9) "In addition God said" Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said they do alway err in their heart;and they have not known my ways.(HEBREWS 3:10) "Also" Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him,and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes:fear the lord, and depart from evil. (PROVERBS 3:5-7)For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise and to do good. He deviseth mischief upon his bed;He setteth himself in a way that is not good:he abhorreth not evil. (PSALM 36:2-4)Have mercy oh lord my God, for you are the great almighty awesome God and all power is in your hand and your timing is perfect.Thank-you for your redeeming/call of Israel out of Egypt and sending your son Jesus to redeem/call us out of a world of sin; fulfilling the promise given to father Abraham.Thank you for Jesus and the Holy spirit'you are a on time God.Without your spirit we can not live a Holy'Holy,Holy life , for all of us have sin and come short of your glory. |

55 | Was prophecy fulfilled at Pentecost? | Joel 2:28 | Edd | 114752
Yes,this prophecy was fulfilled becaused the scripture said "this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel (Act 2:16.However, I'm not absolutely sure about your application of the words "completely fulfilled" because in ACTS 2:17 we must observe the words LAST DAYS " and it shall come to pass in the last days, said God I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh."Jesus began to preach , and to say as record in the book of ST.Matthew 4:17"Repent,for the kingdom of heaven is at hand"and in Mt.6:33 Jesus instruct us to seek ye first the Kingdom of God. Even, in the lords prayer Mt.6:9-10 we are praying, OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN,HALLOWED BE THY NAME.THY KINGDOM COME.THY WILL BE DONE IN EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. Jesus said in Mt.16:15 "but whom say ye that I am?" and Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the son of the living God.And Jesus answer and said unto him, Blessed art thou,Simon Barjona:for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, that thou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church;and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. This was the first mention of the Church by Jesus. Christ's Death,Burial and resurrection is the completion of the first coming of Christ known as the first Advent among Christian all over the world. In the St.John 14:16 Christ gives us a promise of the spirit."And I will pray the father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever. We are in the period of the second coming of Christ, where as whosoever shall call call upon the name of the lord shall be saved. Before that great and notable day of the lord come. The church that Christ is returning for is still open for new converts untill that great day of the lord but within the body of christ today he has given ministry gifts for the purpouse of prefecting the saints. EPHESIAN 4:11 And he gave some, apostles, and some, prophets, some, evangelelists, and some, pastors and teachers, For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of christ. HEBREWS 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. If you are appling Joel 2:28-32 to the church and it current status pertaining to the holy Ghost it's a work in progress. Jesus came into this world and fulfilled scriptures, but all works not complete neither is the work of the Holy Ghost nor the works of current living christian, until the Gospel of Jesus is all over the world, and everyone has an opportunity to know Christ. |

60 | Should Christians rise up, and FAST ? | Matt 6:18 | Edd | 120500
In a public forum, should Christians rise up, and FAST: in protest of governmental policies/practices, which are absolutely against the God of The Holy Bible? Is 58:2 Yet they seek, inquire for, and require Me daily and delight [externally] to know My ways, as [if they were in reality] a nation that did righteousness and forsook not the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me righteous judgments, they delight to draw near to God [in visible ways]. Is 58:3 Why have we fasted, they say, and You do not see it? Why have we afflicted ourselves, and You take no knowledge [of it]? Behold [O Israel], on the day of your fast [when you should be grieving for your sins], you find profit in your business, and [instead of stopping all work, as the law implies you and your workmen should do] you extort from your hired servants a full amount of labor. [Lev. 16:29.] Is 58:4 [The facts are that] you fast only for strife and debate and to smite with the fist of wickedness. Fasting as you do today will not cause your voice to be heard on high. Is 58:5 Is such a fast as yours what I have chosen, a day for a man to humble himself with sorrow in his soul? [Is true fasting merely mechanical?] Is it only to bow down his head like a bulrush and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him [to indicate a condition of heart that he does not have]? Will you call this a fast and an acceptable day to the Lord? Is 58:6 [Rather] is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every [enslaving] yoke? [Acts 8:23.] Is 58:7 Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house--when you see the naked, that you cover him, and that you hide not yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood? Is 58:8 Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. [Exod. 14:19, 20; Isa. 52:12.] Is 58:9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, Here I am. If you take away from your midst yokes of oppression [wherever you find them], the finger pointed in scorn [toward the oppressed or the godly], and every form of false, harsh, unjust, and wicked speaking, [Exod. 3:14.] Is 58:10 And if you pour out that with which you sustain your own life for the hungry and satisfy the need of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in darkness, and your obscurity and gloom become like the noonday. Is 58:11 And the Lord shall guide you continually and satisfy you in drought and in dry places and make strong your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not. Is 58:12 And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of [buildings that have laid waste for] many generations; and you shall be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of Streets to Dwell In. |
