Thank you for your answer ... it is very good - but it still leaves me wondering about those people(s) who do not accept Jesus as their Savior - i.e., the people(s) of the Jewish faith who (to my understanding) think that Jesus was just a good prophet and not the Son of God and Savior. They haven't confessed Jesus as their Lord - they are still waiting for their Messiah. What happens to them? Especially the ones that have already died. Will they get a second chance (as it were) to redeem themselves and if so where does it say that in the bible? What about Atheist (don't know if that is the correct spelling)? Aileen

Thanks Steve: I will read the whole chapter before I ask a question - cause I may just get my question answered by reading the whole chapter. Aileen

Hey Steve. Ok, I guess. But all those rules were taken away in the New Testament, correct? Cuz, we eat meat ... or at least my family does and they (not me) like their meat cooked medium rare which means there is still some blood (eww) left in it. As for me - it better be burnt! I am not trying to be stupid (or seem that way) - I am just trying to understand and make sure that neither me nor my family are doing something against God's laws
46 | Revelation 20:15 | Revelation | Aileen | 220483
Oh my CDBJ: You have got this biblically speaking illiterate person going "What"? Acts 16:31 (to me) is saying if you believe in the Lord (Jesus Christ) and ask to be saved - you and the members of your house will be saved, right? But does that mean that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah-Son of God or just a really good prophet - that you will be saved? James 2:19 - I am really not quite sure. I know that the Bible tells us that satan and his followers know the scriptures too. Are we saying that as long as a person believes that there is a God that their name will be written in the Book of Life? If that is the case, then satan and his followers would have their names written in the Book of Life also (I'm assuming) because they believe know that God exists, right? They just don't want to follow His rules and abide by Him, correct? There we go ... I am confused again. See, it doesn't take much.
47 | Mary and Joseph | Luke 2:5 | Aileen | 220482
Hey Steve: But we do know they got married, correct? I don't know why this seems important to me but when I read the scripture it just stuck out at me like a sore thumb. Thanks for answering my (be it some what stupid) question. Aileen

Wow! I take it then that the women took it upon themselves as they were the reason for the "disgrace-curse" not the men-folk. Thank you Aileen

Thank you for your answer - It makes perfect sense. My questions are not homework assignments (I got a giggle out of that!). Although I look at myself as a "Student of the Bible" even though I am an older "Student" - I am a grandmother. I have never really read the Bible - this is my 1st time. The questions are my reading the bible - questioning something I have read - writing down the passage that I have the question about and then what my question is. I am not offended or anything like that ... I actually think it is pretty cool - you thought my questions were good enough to have been given by a teacher.
52 | Revelation 20:15 | Revelation | Aileen | 220455
I have Jewish friends - quite a few of them. Who do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah-Son of God. I worry for them. One of the families lost their son (killed) in Iraq - he was 19. I know for a fact that he did not believe in Jesus. Also, I worry about my Mom ... she passed in 1989 and I know she knew who Jesus was. I believe she was mad at God and Jesus for having been left a widow at a very young age with 4 children to raise. She made us go to church with our Grandmother (her Mom) but she never went - she never spoke of God-Jesus-church nothing. On a brighter note - I love the forum - I am learning lots and thank each and everyone for their answers and helping me to understand the Scriptures. Blessings. Aileen
53 | Luke 5:41 - Demons - Follow-Up ? | Mark 8:27 | Aileen | 220454
Ok. But the demons were shouting we know who you are - "You are the Son of God!". Maybe not in the nicest/most respectful way but they were claiming who Jesus was. Jesus wanted people to know who He was ... why rebuke/quiet them?

55 | Revelation 20:15 | Revelation | Aileen | 220435
Thank you so much for the answer but it leads to another question ... sorry:( ... Can the people who do not or didn't believe in Jesus in their lifetime have their names in teh Book of Life"?
56 | Luke 5:15 - 16 | Not Specified | Aileen | 220432
Luke 5:15 and 16 "But despite Jesus' instructions, the report of His (Jesus') power spread even faster, and vast crowds came to hear Him (Jesus) preach and to be healed of their deseases. But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness to pray." Why did Jesus withdrawl from the crowds to the wilderness - I know to pray - but couldn't He (Jesus) have done that anywhere? Why did He (Jesus) have to withdrawl? |

Luke 5:41 "Many were possessed by demons; and the demons came out at His (Jesus') command, shouting "You are the Son of God!" But because they knew He (Jesus) was the Messiah, He (Jesus) rebuked them and refused to let them speak." Why did Jesus refuse to let them speak ... was it just because they are demons and no one should listen to what they say? |
