41 | Spirit or spirit? | Prov 5:21 | compudex | 101493
Hi Ray, There is no contention here on my part. Writing posts and answers to some of the question on this forum, and with my limited ability as an orator, sometimes, is hard to convey the intent of thought. By the time the thought gets from the brain, out the finger tips and to the keyboard, some things get lost. I even flucked English in high school once. But, the Lord has been patient with me. In wanting to be His disciple, I would say, our passions will be realized as we grow. As a man sows, so shall he reap. Ah, now I'm preaching. :-) Peace to you! |

42 | Spirit or spirit? | Prov 5:21 | compudex | 101442
Again I find that on this forum people can't stick to their own subject without preaching. The original request was the comparing of scripture. Now you have turned it into a debate. Which do you choose? Plus, you have taken my words out of context. And you twisted my statement. I said, "I don't know for sure if this is what you are looking for." My statement had to do with the verses I listed in my last response to you. About the the (Man) and the (I) and the (He). You state you want to be His disciple. Well, what is holding you back? Peace! |

43 | Spirit or spirit? | Prov 5:21 | compudex | 101415
Hi Ray, I don't know for sure if this is what you are looking for. John 7:27 The people and Pharisees knew Him as Jesus of Nazareth, son of Joseph and Mary, not as Christ, Son of God. The phrase, "but when Christ cometh..." , shows that they did not believe that He was the Messiah. And that no man knew where the Christ was coming from. (even though it was described perfectly by the prophets of old). John 6:42 They were quoting Jesus here. John 9:29 Let's start at John 9:27 - if I tell you again will you be his disciples? Now this is where the pompous and arrogant attitude comes in. John 9:28 "Thou art his disciple; but WE are Moses' disciples." (I'm better than you attitude) John 9:29 (with attitude) We know Moses, not this guy. (paraphrased) And their attitude reached its climax in John 9:34, You sinner, how dare you teach us, WE being men of the cloth.(paraphrased) John 6:45 Quoted from the old testament : All be taught but not all will accept it or stay with it. As the children of Israel are proof of in the wilderness. 1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Peace! |

44 | Spiritually, who are the seven churches? | 2 Tim 3:16 | compudex | 101414
Yes, that is where understanding comes from. "that since God told Noah to build an ark that I better start on mine?" - God told Noah to build it, has He told you to? Your statement is ridiculus. Even to the promise of no more floods. So why would you build one? There are lessons of obedience and trust in the account of Noah. There are lessons of obedience and trust in the messages to the churches also. We can all find food to eat when we read the Word. Some verses may be milk at times in our lives and then they also may be meat at other times. It depends on the growth of our relationship with Christ. We all have different positions in Christ. "In my Father's house are many mansions". Peace! |

46 | Balanced, centered, or lukewarm? | Eccl 7:18 | compudex | 101183
Hi Aixen7z4: To have balance in ones life. Balance with what? Am I satisfied with what I have done with the time the Lord has given me, no! When I look at the cross sometimes I just break down and cry. Sometimes the crying is from guilt and sometimes the crying is from gratefulness. Sometimes I ask what is the Spirit of Christ. I am still in a body that wants to do what it wants to do. I must understand this and ask God to forgive me where I fall short. I am elated when I am aware of His blessing. Balance, is there a balance? This maybe something we were taught or heard that was necessary for the ultimate Christian life. I don't recall reading in the Scriptures about balance. Some days I can't wait for Christ's return and some days I say Oh God, don't come now. How do I strive for balance? I don't. Am I perfect, no, not yet. Do I accept that? Sometimes. Am I frustrated? Yes, sometimes. I guess mostly when I look inside myself is when I pray. For then is when I am quiet and the Spirit brings to mind things that I can improve on. A few people I have talked with seem to think they should just go and go and go. I read in the Bible the events that have taken place. One page after another - this happened - that happened. The time span between the pages ( or events) usually is quite a while. Things just don't happen one right after another. In some places Paul spent two years at a time. As you said, I can't see what is in your mind. And I wasn't trying to. I just related to the confusion of thought. You are very right about - "It's a matter of quality over quantity." Is it a matter of condemnation? Yes, I get that thought sometimes. I even get the thoughts that God is not real. But, I know where these thoughts come from and who has entered them. We are spiritual creatures and we are susceptible to the spirit world. Not all our thoughts are our own. As for me, my roots are in the ground and I keep reaching for the Son. The Scriptures says that 'each star has its own glory'. So it is with us. Ever had the experience (or something like it) that you thought to yourself that you needed to do the laundry? Then you decide to wait until tomorrow. Then, that night one of your best friends calls you to go out for dinner. And the thought comes to you that you KNEW you should have done the laundry because now you don't anything clean to wear to the restaurant. In other words, sometimes it can be the most insignificant little thing, but that small voice is always for our betterment. Do we always hear it? Yes. Thanks for responding to my previous note. |

47 | why do we baptize differently? | Eph 2:9 | compudex | 101159
justme: I hope you have not taken what I said and make it sound as if I don't believe in baptism. I do believe in baptism. My last sentence was, "I agree one should be baptized, but if you are unable to do so "your faith has made you whole". And I am so glad that you could fulfill that elderly woman's last wish. The church I attended had baptismals once a week. Everyone that had accepted Jesus as Lord that week were gathered in front of the whole congregation for witness of their commitment. It was food for our souls to have everyone see our acceptance of Christ and it was food for the church to let them see those that were added to the kingdom of God. There is no conflict here! Grace to you. |

48 | why do we baptize differently? | Eph 2:9 | compudex | 101005
Justme: were there baptisms before John the Baptist? Yes, I know about the group, but don't want to go there. Their doctrine will not keep them out of heaven if they are believers. The original question was why different ways of baptising. Paul said he was glad he didn't baptize many because of strife. Sorrowfully, we still have that today. I agree one should be baptized, but if you are unable to do so "your faith has made you whole". |

49 | What light was created on day one? | John 9:5 | compudex | 100264
Thank you for your suggestions. It is possible for plants to live for a day without sun light. It does rules out the theory that each creative day was a thousand years long as some interpret.
