43 | Can a female preach? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 220001
Robert Wood: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! The subject of women in ministry and specfically preaching is a divisive one. On either position of this subject evokes some strong emotions. Both sides of women in ministry have their unique Biblical understanding that they think proves their position. One thing I do know is anyone seeking to be in ministry does not force their call to ministry upon those who oppose the ministry. The Lord calls and preperation for ministry is a major part of that call. Those called by God into servanthood must be humble and willing to allow the church to validate their personal call into ministry. Unless there is a recognizable way to observe a person in serving others in a natural way of their Christian life then the call might be bogus. There are such women as Beth Moore, Kay Author, Ann Graham Lotes, who are not pastors yet have a proven call to minisrty. Women have been and are in many ministry positions today. In the eighteen hundreds there are countless places women started Schools and extended this to sunday Schools and even became pastors of mission churches. God will use those who are willing to serve, especially so if men are unwilling or are not genuine believers to accomplish His work. The huge issue is men are often hard hearted, unsaved, or spiritually inmature to assume leadership of their own family say nothing about a church. There are valid reasons to examine whether there are restrictions on areas that a woman believer may serve in. This is a very difficult subject to dialogue about, without causing unnecessary emotional uprising on either side of the subject. Blessings. justme |

45 | DEATH | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 223436
May I suggest you read Psalm 139. When life seems like we are useless or there seems no reason to be here on earth, this passage is just for YOU. The Lord has a plan for us all. Might I suggest contacting the church you are in volved in and ask who you can pray for? Or how about sending emails to those who are lonely as you are. There is a reason the Lord has not called you home yet, and our Lord knows the place for you to be, you need to make a big effort to stay tuned to the Lord. To end you life is taking the Lords will for your life away from Him. Walking by faith at any age is a struggle, however as we age the walk takes a steadfast spirit to be in the Word of God and depending on Christ Jesus for direction. May you remember you are not alone, the Holy Spirit is living within you. Bless you. justme |

46 | Jesus doesn't answer me | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 224100
Mamametal: Reading between the lines of your question, I think I hear you say a few things of importance. I think you may be in a church that says unless you speak in a language given by the Holy Spirit you have reason to doubt your salvation. Am I right? You have given a lot of time to trying to hear God speak to you and have not really heard Him. Is this correct? I am risking that what I think you are saying to give some advice. God speaks to us most often by reading HIS WORD. The Holy Spirit uses the Bible to answer prayer, and direct our path, give us correction, peace, and courage just to name a very few areas. In HIS WORD He answers our prayers, most of the time. In over sixty-five years, I can count on both hands the times I have heard the silent voice of God speaking to me. His voice is silent, but there is no doubt when He has spoken. I can tell you when such times I did hear Him there was no doubt. Once the LORD spoke to me and He gave me a very stern warning. Latter the person I was warned about, I went to and told them what the Lord said to me. That person said they had prayed the very words, God had spoke to me. That was a life changing moment, I can't go into. I can not stress enough how important being consistantly in reading the Scripture is. I pray and know this will help you. Blessings. justme |

49 | Are we born a sinner or do we become one | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 225863
Everyone has a sin nature. Under the ideal God has set forth in Scripture, that we are to be equally yoked together in marriage. Even with lets say the man and the woman are the best Christians the world has seen thus far, they each have a sin nature. With both having a sin nature there is no way to have a baby that does not have the sin nature. The sin nature is inherited and every person except the Lord Jesus Christ. Everyone is a sinner from the time of Adam and Eve. From the instant of conception of that child, the sin nature is there. Just as each person has a heart, lungs, so is the sin nature present in every human ever born, except Jesus Christ. For a deeper understanding of when life starts see Psalm 139. Blessings If at the time of conception a baby was sinless, then if when the child was born it was kept free from any sinful thing whatsoever, would that child never sin, unless it was taught to? Clearly a child does not have to be taught how to sin. Why, because it is our very nature to sin, just as it is to breathe. Perhaps this logical statement might help. Blessings justme |

Dear Quiet One, This is Mrs.Justme responding to your note. My heart ached when my husband showed me your very vulnurable plea for compassion and counsel. So I have chosen to reach out to you dear, without any condemnation. You do not sound stupid or childish! I wish there were many more like you that would take the time to inquire of the Lord and the community of Christian believers! The delima you are facing as a true believer in Christ Jesus may be common but your response to it will indeed have immeasurable consequences that will shape the rest of your life and his. I highly commend you for taking this time to critically reflect upon your actions! This web site may not NORMALLY be comfortable dealing directly with counseling you in this type of situation. However, Scripture given without teaching application and fundamental understanding is mere empty data and stastical knowledge! Full discussion of the fundamental doctrines and beliefs of our faith IN PRACTICAL APPLICATION is the most basic of our Christian responsibilities! We THANK YOU for allowing us and giving us the privilege to minister to you in this way! So, with respect, mercy and sincere compassion I will ask you these following multiple questions: Is your boyfriend a truly born-again Christian? How long has he been a Christian and you? Are you involved in a Bible-believing church? The Lord expects His children to WANT to grow in holiness through faith, obedience, witness and service to our Lord? Does your relationship with this man promote and encourage these behaviors and character qualities within you AND him? If you BOTH are really true Believers in the teachings and commandments of our Lord Jesus Christ then your responses to this life test is clear. Regardless of the family differences and the lack of support for your relationship, as Christians your covenant marriage could be in the Lord's hands and could be blessed. If the family differences is because THEY are NOT Christian and you BOTH are, then their distain for your relationship is understandable and the Lord will help you through that. If either of your lives are threatened by your decision to marry (your family is Muslim and HIS is NOT?), then I would indeed move from the area in secret. If he is from a Muslim family, I would NOT even consider marriage because under the Muslim beliefs, once you marry into a Muslim family, you BECOME Muslim. DO NOT MARRY! I must also ask the question, if your parents ARE Christian and they strongly disagree with your relationship with him, do they have GOOD REASON for their concern? Often times Christian parents CAN see deeply concerning characteristics in a person that their child cannot perceive clearly or refuses to because they are in love or in lust. I must also warn you that I know this to be very true of all marriages: if you both do not have the blessings of your parents then you will face some very painful family-conflicts that do NOT get resolved without the Lord's intervention! When you marry...you indeed marry the FAMILY ALSO!!! Do not let anyone fool you into thinking otherwise! Do you have your Pastor's blessing? Are you of two totally different doctrinal faiths or religions? If so, you are possibly unequally yoked. For an example: a Amish marrying a Baptist would have a basic foundation of fundamental faith. However, a Mormon marrying a Baptist would not because Mormonism is a cult. Now, for the most difficult question of your heart: If your boyfriend is NOT a Christian, then you MUST end the relationship and truly TRUST the Lord to provide a Christian husband for you in the future. Dear Quiet One, You have been missionary-dating! Hoping that he will become Christian enough to make it acceptable to your family?! I have known too many situations where either the guy or girl pretend and play like a Christian (even getting baptised!) but do NOT really believe! Those type of relationships brought unbearable heartache to many! This is truly a time of your faith being tested! Will you obey the Lord's command NOT to be unequally-yoked with an unbeliever in a marriage-covenant?(II Corinthians 6:14)? I plead with you to read II Peter 1:1-21, and the entire book of James. Please forgive my lengthly answer. The longer I thought and prayed about answering you, the more I could not answer quickly or without many questions for you, that only YOUR soul can answer! I welcome your response.Further preparation reading for a Christian Marriage:Starting Your Marriage Right by Dennis and Barbara Rainey; Living Together, Myths, Risks and Answers by Mike and Harriet McManus. legsrandall: Islam has as it's stated requirement to kill infidels. Jews and Christians are infidels as stated in the Qur'an. The Qur'an is Islam's holiesy book. Islam is more than just a religion. Islam is a Military organization, as well a Political organization. The goal of Islam is the destroy the "little satan" and 'the big satan". Israel is the "little satan". The United States is "the big satan". The Jews and Christians are called "people of the book. Islam does not believe Jesus died on a Cross. The Qur'an has many translations, and there are many condradictions, but all agree on who is an infidel. Muslims are determined to wipe Israel and all Jews off the face of world. Islam is NOT a religion of peace, love, hope or kindness. The Qur'an has much to say about women and how to treat a wife. A wife does as she is told. A wife is to submit to her husbannd in all ways, at all timmes and in all places at anytime he demanda. A husband can have several wives. Mohammed married one wife at the age of six, but waited until she was nine to consummate the marriage. A man can get "married" if only for a very short time, and leave her as long as he pays money to the "wife". All the information I have presented can be found at www.worldviewweekend.com the DVD is titled THE WORLDVIEW WAR OF ISLAM. Brannon Howse Interviews Egyptian-born Usama Dakdok. Rev. Usama Dakdok "felt coplelled to translate the Qur'an accurately into English."...."the Qur'an contains little more than repetive legends, condradictions, and corrupted selections that have been borrowed from the Bible.".... "But a simple reading will reveal that the Qur'an itself is the source of terror. Islam is continually tauted as "a religion of peace,' yet the Qura'an itself does not call for peace. Indeed "Islam" does not mean "peace" but rather "submission." Western Muslims only speak of "peace" because they do not presently have "the upper hand." THE GENEROUS QUR'AN by Usama Dakdok Published by Usama Dakdok Publishing, LLC, Venice, FL 2009 Usama Dakdok has a website at www.thestraightway.org. Any one who tells you that Islam and Christianity are harmonious is seriously mistaken. Many Christian churches in Iraq and other Muslim countries have been destroyed, and millions of Christians have been killed for their faith in Jesus Christ. I sincerely pray this helps with your question, justme |

57 | what is the rapture, what should i do? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 229306
legsrandall: The word "rapture" is not found in the Bible. The "gathering" is the word a number of versions use instead. May I suggest a book, THE MEANING OF THE MILLENNIUM FOUR VIEWS. EDITED BY ROBERT G. CLOUSE InterVarsity Press Downers Grove Illinois 60515 1977 There have been many reprints and it's easy to order. This book gives you the four positions, Historic Premillennialism, Dispenssational Premillennialism, Postmillennialism, and Amillennialism. I have given out a good number of these books over the years and have yet to have someone say they did not find it very helpful, I am sure you will too. The "rapture" is a hotly debated subject. Ultimately you will have to make up you own mind where you stand on the subject. May I suggest you read Matthew 24, and 25. In forming your theology of the rapture, it takes time to develope your own theology of the end of times. Don't expect to find an answer in a short period of time, it may take you several years.
