41 | compasionate God versus vengeful God | Lev 18:25 | Pastor Glenn | 140060
Hello Lorraine, Welcome to the forum. To the question of "why did God kill or order to be killed so many people...", I would point out that God has not changed. He was then, and still is, the God of Justice. Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Maybe it would be Good for your son to study the following scriptures in context in his bible. God is very even handed with all people. Leviticus 18:25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Leviticus 18:28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. Leviticus 20:22 Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out. Deu 8:19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. Deu 8:20 As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God. Eze 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Eze 33:12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. Eze 33:13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. Eze 33:14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; Eze 33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. Eze 33:16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. Eze 33:17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. Eze 33:18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. Eze 33:19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. Eze 33:20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways. Now, as to the question of those that died before Christ, Abraham is one who died before Christ, of course he has salvation. The greatness of God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ is that it covered all people of all time: Gal 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. Also see Hebrew chapter 11. 42 | We shouldn't be in the military? | Eccl 3:8 | Pastor Glenn | 139649
hello He-man, As you quoted: "Rom 12 ...18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. ..." Notice here that it says "If it be possible...". Also notice that it says "... Vengeance is mine ...". So soldiers and police are used by God (Rom 13:4). It is OK for a Christian to join the police or military. However, in anything that we do, we should check with God first in prayer. But if a person is already in the military should not desert their duty. Does this answer your question? Pastor Glenn |

43 | a time for every purpose under heaven | Eccl 3:8 | Pastor Glenn | 139620
He-man, Please look at the very next chapter of Romans: Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. The soldier and police both fit into this category of "minister of God". You are right, as individual citizens, we follow Romans 12. This is also applies to where Jesus explained "an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth": Exodus 21:24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, Leviticus 24:20 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again. Deuteronomy 19:21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. Matthew 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: |

44 | Did Noah's children sleep together? | Gen 8:18 | Pastor Glenn | 139520
Hello SugarKissesOmy, Noah had no daughters, but his 3 grown sons already had wives: Genesis 7:7 So Noah, with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives, went into the ark because of the waters of the flood. Genesis 7:13 On the very same day Noah and Noah's sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah's wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark-- Genesis 8:18 So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him. 2 Timothy 2:15 (New King James Version) Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: |

45 | Atheism, deism, theism, and pantheism, | John 3:16 | Pastor Glenn | 139483
Hello pinoypride, 1. atheism n 1: the doctrine or belief that there is no God [syn: godlessness] [ant: theism] 2: a lack of belief in the existence of God or gods 2Corinthians 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. 2. pantheism 1: (rare) worship that admits or tolerates all gods 2: the doctrine or belief that God is the universe and its phenomena (taken or conceived of as a whole) or the doctrine that regards the universe as a manifestation of God Act 17:22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. Act 17:23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. Act 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Act 17:25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; Act 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; Act 17:27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Act 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. Act 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Act 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. 3. deism n : the form of theological rationalism that believes in God on the basis of reason without reference to revelation [syn: free thought] Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 4. theism This is the only world view that bible scripture agrees with. Belief in the existence of a god or gods, especially belief in a personal God as creator and ruler of the world. Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 46 | who was Mary Magdalene | Luke 8:2 | Pastor Glenn | 139481
Hello LSmith, Rumors like this do not come from bible scripture. Here are all 12 of the verses that include Mary Magdalene's name: Matthew 27:56 Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children. Matthew 27:61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre. Matthew 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. Mark 15:40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; Mark 15:47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid. Mark 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. Mark 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. Luke 8:2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, Luke 24:10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. John 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. John 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. John 20:18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the LORD, and that he had spoken these things unto her. |

47 | Must we believe in Jesusto go to heaven? | Bible general Archive 2 | Pastor Glenn | 139371
David, This is a good question that all Christians at some time must ponder. I have come to believe in the "Day of Visitation", where Jesus Christ is presented into everyones life on an individual bases, as well as, on family and national bases. There are many scripture verses that tells us that Christ is the only way to the kingdom of heaven. Here are a few: Acts 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." John 10 7Then Jesus said to them again, "Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8All who ever came before Me[a] are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 14 1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2In My Father's house are many mansions;[a] if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.[b] 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4And where I go you know, and the way you know." 5Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" 6Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Hope this helps, Pastor Glenn |

nwells, We must take all of scripture into consideration here. The vast majority is telling men of their own responsibility. If it was only a matter of God choosing who He wills, then 2/3rds of scripture would become meaningless. For instance, examine these scriptures for starters: Eze 18:25-32; 33:10-20, John 3:14-21, and Jer 31:29-30 Hope this helps, Pastor Glenn |

49 | same faith same spirit | Eph 4:4 | Pastor Glenn | 137862
Hello jolly, Are you searching for a certain scripture? Maybe: Ephesians 4 One Church, Many Parts 1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you[1] all. 11And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- 16from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. |

50 | Is Zionism biblical? | 1 Pet 2:6 | Pastor Glenn | 137857
Hello jdbound! This is part of what I said in post ID 137828 "Remember too, that before Israel even became a nation during WW II, the Nazis searched them out and destroyed 6 million Jews. This makes the scriptures perfectly clear. Satan hates Jews and Christians. Look at what is happening around the world and compare to Rev chapter 12: Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. Rev 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. Rev 12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Notice that Satan hates both the "woman" (Israel), as well as, her seed (Christians). Please check out a video called "Former Muslims Testify About Islam" by going to the following link: http://www.johnankerberg.org/TV/ankjasrm-islam-wmv.html#IPR1 This is a real eye opener. Islam is a Satanic religion that hates Jews and Christians just as Nazism wanted to destroy Jews and Christians before. Even now Christian are being killed in Sudan, Africa! This is the spirit of Anti-Christ: 1John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time." 52 | Response to Content | 1 Tim 6:9 | Pastor Glenn | 137843
Hello again Nakia! As jdbound said, you are absolutly right. However, It seems that you are confused about the difference between contentment and laziness. You can be a hard worker and still find yourself on welfare for a period of time. But, a diligent person will always seek to do better. While he is down though, he will trust that God will bring him out: Phil 4 11Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13I can do all things through Christ[2] who strengthens me. Proverbs 13:4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich. Does this answer your confusion? Pastor Glenn |

53 | Be content | 1 Tim 6:9 | Pastor Glenn | 137830
Hello Nakia, Here is another scripture for you to consider: 1 Tim 6 6Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain[3] we can carry nothing out. 8And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. The Good Confession 11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 12Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, 15which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen. Instructions to the Rich 17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. Hope this helps, Pastor Glenn |

54 | Can unbelievers pray to God? | Prov 28:9 | Pastor Glenn | 133188
Did God hear Cain's prayer? Gen 4:13 Cain said to the LORD, "My punishment is too great to bear! Gen 4:14 "Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me." Gen 4:15 So the LORD said to him, "Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold." And the LORD appointed a sign for Cain, so that no one finding him would slay him. |

Razman, Notice the "circle of the earth": Isa 40:21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? Isa 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: Also notice "hangeth the earth upon nothing": Job 26:7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing. Looks like an ancient discription of planetary orbit that would pass any definition of relativity that Einstein could have come up with. Hope this helps, Pastor Glenn |
