41 | Do you go to heaven right when you die | NT general | CDBJ | 235570
Hi Jeep1 and I would like to welcome you to the forum. I believe the answer to your question lies within the text of the original language in the Koine Greek of the New Testament. This is where Paul explains exactly what you are asking. 2 Corinthians 5:8 (NKJV) 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. What Paul is expressing is that when our soul separates from our present body it will be escorted instantly to our new home with Christ. The words, to be present in the Koine Greek is the pronoun “PROS” and it is used in the accusative case which means actually, FACE TO FACE with the Lord. i.e. The first thing we will see is Jesus right there in front of us! Psalm 116:15 (NKJV) 15 Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His saints. It’s like a big WELCOME home son. The sleep aspect “for the believer in Christ” is a reference to their body which they will receive a new one being glorious and like the one Jesus has, at His return. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (NKJV) 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. The dead “IN” Christ is a reference to the believer’s old body which will be raised incorruptible, it died in corruption but will be raised in incorruption. The soul which was residing with Christ will be reunited with a perfect body. We have no idea exactly how we shall be but this we are promised. 1 John 3:2 (NKJV) 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. This action takes place on the earth, where the problem all started. Have a great day, CDBJ |

42 | why did paul speak about perfection? | Phil 3:1 | CDBJ | 235569
Greetings Charlie from another Charlie on the forum. The chapter and verse that you used as a reference makes answering your question a little hard to do and keep the basic question in context. Philippians 3:1 (NKJV) 1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe. Could you give us the verse that uses the word “perfection” in it that was used by Paul? More info is needed, enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

43 | Languages spoken after the Flood. | Genesis | CDBJ | 235568
Greetings and welcome to the forum. This might help your understanding; It’s from, “Hard Sayings of the Bible”. Genesis 11:1-9. One Language Before Babel? Genesis 11:1-9 is the record of the departure from one language and common speech to a plurality of tongues in the human race. This event took place at the tower of Babel, where mortals had decided that they would "make a name for [them]selves [lest they be] scattered over the face of the whole earth" (Genesis 11:4). A recently discovered Sumerian tablet also tells for the first time from an extrabiblical perspective the story of a time when all languages were one on the earth. The problem therefore is this: why does Genesis 10:5, 20, 31 describe each of the descendants of Noah's three sons as having differing languages when this was not supposed to have happened until the next chapter? Isn't this a mistake (called by scholars an anachronism) on the part of the writer of Scripture, in that it is a misplacement in time and space? The Bible does not represent itself as always desiring to present its material in a strictly chronological sequence. Often it prefers to present it in a topical sequence. For example, the three temptations of Jesus in the Gospels are found in three different arrangements because the aim of the author was to present them so as to make the preaching and teaching point of theology that each had in mind. Likewise, the writer of Genesis jumps ahead of himself for the moment to describe what happened to the descendants of Noah's three sons, even though it outdistanced the story that he would resume in Genesis 11. This technique is typical of the writer of Genesis. There is another clue in the text itself that demonstrates that this is so. In Genesis 10:25 it mentions "one [who] was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided." Here is a clear allusion to the confusion of languages at the tower of Babel that will be described in the next chapter (Genesis 11: 8-9). Since Peleg in Hebrew means "to divide" or "to split," it is more than likely that he received his name in memory of this event. Hard Sayings of the Bible. 44 | Why are walls needed in Heaven? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 235401
Greetings, Scripture doesn’t tell us why there are walls in heaven and anything that would be suggested would be pure speculation on the part of the responder. Here is a question for you. If you were to die within the next few minutes and find yourself outside one of those gates and God were to ask you; “Why should I let you come into my heaven”, what would your response be? There isn’t a wrong answer, CDBJ |

Greetings, You should learn the same lesson that Martin Luther learned “Feelings come and feelings go, And feelings are deceiving; My warrant is the Word of God Naught else is worth believing. Though all my heart should feel condemned For want of some sweet token, There is One greater than my heart Whose Word cannot be broken. I'll trust in God's unchanging Word Till soul and body sever, For, though all things shall pass away, HIS WORD SHALL STAND FOREVER!” Martin Luther There is a great booklet that you can send for and it’s free and covers the topic of tongues as it is discussed in the Bible. I hope you are open and able to profit from it as I have. http://www.rbthieme.org/Publications/tongues.html CDBJ |

46 | God the Son symbolized as light | John | CDBJ | 235104
This might be what you are looking for! John 1:7-10 (NKJV) 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. John 8:12 (NKJV) 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." 48 | where in John that god live as a human w | NT general | CDBJ | 234953
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The answer to your question is found in the very first chapter of John. John 1:1-12 (NASB) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. 6 There came a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light. 9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, You might want to follow this with a portion of the book called Hebrews Hebrews 1:1-8 (NASB) 1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. 3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. 5 For to which of the angels did He ever say, "YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU"? And again, "I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME"? 6 And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, "AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM." 7 And of the angels He says, "WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE." 8 But of the Son He says, "YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM. God is one in essence but manifested in three distinct in personalities, The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. |

49 | Mark's Gospel why passion narrative imp | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 233751
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Right from the get go in the gospel of Mark one would be at a great advantage just understanding what the word gospel means. The word gospel and how it ties with the passion of Christ is wrapped up in the original language of the New Testament. i.e. the Koine Greek. The word originally used was the word EUANGELION and the clearest meaning in the English is literally the (GOOD NEWS). The next question should be the good news about what, and that is that God has sent His Christ or actually His appointed one. Now we have to ask, the appointed one for what, and the answer is found back in the book of Isaiah chapter 53. Isaiah 53:1-12 (ASV) 1 Who hath believed our message? and to whom hath the arm of Jehovah been revealed? 2 For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who among them considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due? 9 And they made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. The key to what Jesus did as the appointed one is found in the 10th verse of the chapter. Isaiah 53:10 (ASV) 10 Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand. It actually pleased God the Father to punish His own Son because the Son was paying the price that God demanded for (OUR SIN). Now that’s good news, Jesus has already paid the price so I can live forever in heaven with God and that price is imputed to everyone who will put their complete trust in what Jesus did for them and not trust in their own works, God gives eternal life as a GIFT, but it must come through faith in God’s Son! When we work for salvation it is like wages, we earn it but a gift is free. Romans 6:23 (ASV) 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. It’s strictly by believing in the FINISHED word of Christ that we can know we have eternal life as a gift. All those that put their hope in Jesus, God gives them the Son. Notice how the good news of Mark plays out in the following because of the passion of Christ. 1 John 5:10-13 (ASV) 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son. 11 And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath the life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not the life. 13 These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, even unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God. I hope this helps, CDBJ |

50 | A devo topic that challenges you think | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 233500
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Here is a topic that will challenge your knowledge of Bible doctrine but might shatter some previous beliefs in the process if you take it serious. The topic of discussion is eschatology which takes basically four different avenues of deliberation. All four of these directions can’t be right yet the four “different” aspects are held by some of the most devoted individuals in the faith of the past several thousand years. Using all of the Scriptures that are dedicated to this topic try to come up with an answer where one of the four works in all cases within the realm of all the verses contained in God’s Word. The four basic versions are as follows, pertribulational, midtrib. posttrib, and prewrath. They can’t all be right! You better do a lot of praying and exercise the use of 1st Jn. 1:9 before each study cession. Yours in Christ, CDBJ |

54 | Why does God respect Satan's opinion | Job 1:8 | CDBJ | 233066
Greetings, It’s God’s way of showing Satan that he is barking up the wrong tree and with it he is able to bless Job beyond measure while still in this life. Now you can answer a question for me, one of the same nature. Why did Christ give those spirits in prison a lesson on the failure of their intended mission? 1 Peter 3:18B-20 but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The left their first estate in order to corrupt the seed of mankind so that the Messiah couldn’t come in the flesh from the seed of a totally human woman, but why did Christ have to show them that the weren’t successful in their endeavor ; they didn’t deserve to know? 55 | Can anyone explain Mat 24:15? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 232770
That is well established in II Thess 2:3-10 but most American’s have been convinced contrary to the teachings of Christ and Paul. They have been duped into believing that they won’t see these things happen and that the Church won’t have to endure any persecution from the antichrist. This is also referred to as Daniel’s 70th week and the time of Jacobs trouble. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10 (KJV) 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. The day spoken of is the return of Christ for His Church. NOTICE the first words of the verse both here and in Matt. 24:4 Don’t let anyone deceive you into thinking differently. Pick up a book called (The Rapture Question Answered) By Van Kampen it's a real eye opener! I hope this helps, CDBJ |

56 | Who raised Tabitha from the dead? | NT general | CDBJ | 232416
Greetings and welcome to the forum. I believe you might be looking for Acts 9:36-40 Acts 9:36-40 (KJV) 36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. 37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. 38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. 39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

Greetings and welcome to the forum. Where is it exactly in Scripture where it says that the angles are non male and non female; that’s a new one on me? I think you will find that it says the following: Matthew 22:30 (KJV) 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. All angels are male in gender to the surprise of most but the Bible doesn’t say that they a sexless. CDBJ |

This is a reference to the filling of the Spirit and Bible doctrine; not some emotional nonsense. CDBJ |

59 | Baptizedwithoutproperintentions | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 232217
Welcome to the forum. I was “baptized” when I was a baby but according to Scripture was it really baptism? Just because someone sprinkled a little water on me and pronounced a few words that are mentioned in the Bible that doesn’t constitute real water baptism. Look what the prerequisite for baptism is in the book of Acts. Acts 8:35-39 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 36And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. Notice what was ask of the one who of “his own free will” believed in Jesus. Again he wasn’t baptized because of what someone else believed but what he himself personally believed. The one being baptized asked this question; “what doth hinder me to be baptized?” The only hindrance before one can be truly baptized is personal faith alone in the person of Jesus Christ. Philip said,” If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. I would assume that the eunuch had water with him because one doesn’t venture out into a desert without it, yet the Bible says they both needed to go down into the water, which suggest how one is to be baptized, i.e. total submersion, which is how it was done. I was, later in life, actually baptized the real way, after I thoroughly trusted in Jesus as my own personal Saviour this required being “buried” with Him in baptism. I hope this helps and that you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |
