Hi trigger, I was curious in reading your question to JRM, what you meant by "Many of us are too uncomfortable with apparent contradictions to admit they exist." Could you elaborate? Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Hello misteredd, Might I ask, upon what scriptural basis does your reply rest? At best you're being oversimplistic. At worse, just tossing out speculations! Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Hello godsgem, Once again, this is somebody I'd steer clear of. She is in no way Orthodox. She is teaching a blend of mysticism and extra-Biblical visitations and revelations! The true intent and purpose of this Forum is the study of Scripture. Might I ask why you're seeking so much info on people who are clearly on the fringes of Biblical Christianity? Hello 213sugar, Welcome to the Forum. I realize you're new to the SBF. It would be more appropriate to read the "about forum" and "terms of use" before posting web links without endorsement or comment (1 John 4:1)! I would have some serious issues with Harold Camping and his flawed theology! I would NOT recommend reading it. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

408 | ... | OT general | BradK | 200521
Hello 213sugar, Here is something I recommend to read about Family Radio: "This is Harold Camping's network. The music is very nice and nostalgic if not a little kitschy, sounding very much like Moody Radio did in the 1960s. But the teaching here is profoundly bad. After being out of control for more than a decade (during which Camping's board and co-workers refused to hold him accountable to Scripture) he finally wigged out completely shortly after the turn of the millennium. He had already utterly embarrassed himself and sacrificed all credibility in the early 1990s by predicting that Christ would return to earth on September 6, 1994. After that prediciton failed to materialize, Camping continued to make false prophecies, culminating in his absurd pronouncement that the Church age has come to an end and we are living in the Tribulation. God is through with the church, Camping insists—and judgment has now begun. Camping tells his listeners they need to leave their churches and look to Family Radio to be the main vehicle through which the gospel is preached to the whole world. (You can guess where Camping thinks Christians need to send all their money.) This once-fine ministry is a tragic example of what can happen when one man is given too much control with no accountability." 409 | the fear of the Lord | OT general | BradK | 208987
Hi John, I quite agree... and then some! Phillip Johnson in his (aptly-titled) article, "A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing" says this, "It is ironic that Charles Grandison Finney has become a poster boy for so many modern evangelicals. His theology was far from evangelical. As a Christian leader, he was hardly the model of humility or spirituality. Even Finney's autobiography paints a questionable character. In his own retelling of his life's story, Finney comes across as stubborn, arrogant—and sometimes even a bit devious." Further, even a cursory reading of Finney's so-called 'Systematic Theology" should make one shudder and run! He was a heretic- plain and simple. The devastation he left still lingers! Hello Hank1, When I look into the word of God I see Christ every where! He is the grand subject of it! I seek illumination form the Holy Spirit as I study the Word. God's revelation should direct us to His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ! Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Hello Pete, What I believe Tim was saying (without putting words in his mouth)was ,Scripture definitely makes a distinction between Isreal and the Church- the Body of Christ. I think as you progress in your study you will find that to be evident. As an example: Eph. 2:12- "remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world." (NASB) I believe it rightly said that Romans is the "theology of the NT". The doctrine of condemnation is laid out in Rom. 1:18 - 3:20. Basically all of us- Jews or Gentiles- are guilty before God! Hello Pete, If I may, are you a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, and, if so, for how long? Also, what church do you fellowship at? It would appear that you are denying the doctrine of original sin? 1 John 3:4-9 would be speaking of those who are professed believers! In verse 9, one who is "born of God" is one who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ, not one in their natural state. (See 1 John 5:11-12) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Pete, Sheer and utter nonsense! You're obviously not serious? There is only ONE sinless, the Lord Jesus Christ- none other! See Rom. 3:23! BradK |

Pete, The Word judges you, not I. I'm not offended by you, but rather the words you wrote are in contradiction with the Word of God. You appear to have a fundamental misunderstanding of God and His Word! I was simply responding to what you wrote. Pete, you're the one who initially stated you're new to the study of the Bible, correct? Are you truly seeking to learn? If you are, then why do you consistently challenge those of us who are seeking to instruct you? Why don't you consider that: 1. You may be wrong; 2. We're trying to give you solid direction; For instance, what you state about 1 John 5 is correct. However you immediately contradict yourself by saying, "it doesn't exclude those who are born in another culture and through no fault of their own will never get to know him." Yes, it does? Read Rom. 1:20. The verse does not say what you add! Aunt Miyoiko, is either a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, or she's not! I can't make that call, only God can. However, as much as she may be a very loving and (outwardly) righteous person, she is still a sinner in need of a Savior! (Read Romans 1-3) We are all condemned to hell(God's wrath)unless we receive Christ as our Savior! Read John 3:36. The doctrine of condemnation is laid out by Paul in Rom. 1:18 - 3;23! The whole world is guilty before God. Again, read Rom. 1:20- we're ALL without excuse- even Aunt Miyoiko. If she has not received Christ, she stands condemned. She is in need of accepting the forgiveness offered by Christ and Him only! Read John 11:25-26! I suggest taking much more time- and prayer- to think about and meditate upon what we've said in light of God's Word! Prov 19:20- Listen to counsel and accept discipline, That you may be wise the rest of your days. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Hello flyman, Jesus, in saying there was no one good but God, was claiming Diety for Himself (Mark 10:18)! The Jews rejected Him- in part- because He was claiming to be God! (John 8:58, 10:30-33) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

417 | Love for all, judge not anyone | OT general | BradK | 213105
Hello kam, If you don't mind me interjecting, here's what C.H. Spurgeon noted about this passage in his Commentary of Matthew: 18. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. "Not a syllable is to become effete. Even to the smallest letters, the dot of every “i”, and the crossing of every “t”, the law will outlast the creation. The Old Testament is as sacredly guarded as the New. “The Word of the Lord endureth for ever.” Modern critics have set themselves an impossible task in their endeavor to get rid of the inspiration of the whole sacred volume, or of this book, or that chapter, or that verse; for the whole shall come forth of their furnace as silver purified seven times." Cheri, Could you possibly clarify your statement, "Even He could not do all of the Law for much it did not apply to Him - so He didn't fulfill All of the law."? What is your thought here? Jesus Himself said, "Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." (Matt. 3:15) If He did not fulfill all the law, then He did not fulfill ALL righteousness! He thereby would not be sinless and able to be our Mediator! Does not Matt. 5:17 clearly state, "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill." (NASB) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Bill: That sounds like a "warm fuzzy". Apparently you don' t like to answer simple questions with direct responses? Why do you duck and hide my friend? It would sound to me like you' re hiding something? Since we're on the topic, what does "go with God in all things" mean to you? Does it imply telling the truth in all things? Does it imply telling the truth in regards to whether you' ve had a previous account revoked by Lockman? Does it imply being candid with regards to whether you are or have posted previously as Inquisitor? Go with God in all things my friend but let's please be open and honest with your forum peers.
