304 | Who wet Jesus feet with her tears? | Luke 7:44 | prayon | 4038
Thanks Phil for your input. However the woman can not be Mary, sister of Lazarus. Both incidents did happen in the house of Simon the Pharisee, if Simon the leper and Simon the Pharisee are indeed the same person, but the woman in Luke was a sinner whom the diciples believed was not worthy of touching the feet of Jesus. Mary would never fit into that description. Also Luke says that the women poured a jar of ointment on His feet whereas Mary poured a jar of perfume on Jesus head. One was done early in Jesus' ministry and the other done during the Passover time.
305 | What is the Holy Spirit? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 4037
Angel: a spiritual being, subordinate to God, who serves at God's command and pleasure to deliver His messages, help people or punish His enemies, (Harper's Bible Dictionary). Holy Spirit: The mysterious power or presence of God in nature or with individuals and communities, inspiring or empowering them with qualities they would not otherwise possess. The word spirit translates in Hebrew and Greek to wind, and breath (Harpers Bible Dictionary). These two definitions are totally different so how can the Holy Spirit be made up of angels? The Holy Spirit is a part of the Holy Trinity. I have never read that angels are a part of the trinity, have you? Considering the fact that God and the Holy Spirit are one how can the Holy Spirit, according to your definition and the above definition, be subordinate to Himself? |

306 | Destroy Jesus? Why? | Luke 19:47 | prayon | 4017
Also: The religious leaders were the best known, most powerful, and most respected of all leaders. If you look through out the gospels you will note that Jesus repeatedly rebuked these leaders and made fools of them in front of many. They were unable to ask Him a question that He did not have an answer for that was undebateable. Jesus, also, spoke of them in parables. In the parable of the 2 sons the Jewish leaders are the son who professed to serve but refused to obey. In the parable of the wicked tenants Jesus held them responsible for the nation's fruitlessness before God. In the parable of the King's wedding feast they are condemned because they refuse to honor the King's Son with a responce to His invitation. In Matthew 23:1-8 Jesus warn His followers to do whatever they teach you and follow it but do not do as they do. After exposing their worthless works and base motives He addressed them personally with the 8 woes. Jesus was unmistakenly in their way and they had to be rid of Him.

308 | Is it a sin to committ suicide? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 2423
Dear KBurgee, Thank you for your reply and feelings. I agree in part - when it comes to people who are running as you stated at the end. I would like to give you a small personal testimony. I suffer from the disease of depression. It was diagnosed over 10 years ago and it comes from a chemical imbalance. It is my prayer that someday God will heal me from this disease but until then I will remain on medication. There were times even while on medication that I have been suicidal. During these times my faith remained very strong. I had no doubt in my mind whatsoever that God could not handle my situation. I became suicidal because I felt that I did not have the strength, energy or desire to go on until He did. It is this overwhelming feeling that leads to suicide NOT that God can't handle it. I have found a site that I pray that all Christian leaders, ministers, and counselors will find and explore. I encourage you to go to: www.gospelcom.net/cdp . With the best intentions many of these people do much more harm than good to a person suffering from depression. In Christ's Love, prayon |

309 | WILL YOU KNOW YOUR LOVE ONES IN HEAVEN | Luke | prayon | 2241
Also see 1Cor15:51-55. Here Paul tells us that at the sound of the trumpet we will rise and our bodies will be made imperishable -"THIS mortal body will put on immotality"(v.53). We will keep the same bodies but they will be made imperishable - no sickness, no handicaps, no limitations. ALLELUJA!!!
310 | How can we assist our youth? | Bible general Archive 1 | prayon | 2198
Charis - I agree with you 100 per cent. I was trying to just stick to the issue of the youth. Without proper role models and intercessors we would not be able to be what they need. Later |

311 | When was the Holy Spirit first given? | Acts 2:1 | prayon | 2124
Excellent point. Perhaps He needed to give them a taste of the Holy Spirit so they could carry on His work after He ascended into Heaven until the proper time came. To fulfill the prophecy of John the Baptist He still needed to baptize with fire which He did at Pentecost. I tend to agree with your opinion that their empowerment was not complete.

313 | SECOND CHANCE | Rev 7:1 | prayon | 1394
You are very true. There are 3 different viewpoints on the rapture and tribulation. 1)Pre-millenialism: This is the oldest of interpretation that says Christ will literally and bodily return to earth before the tribulation begins. At the end of the 1000 years he will turn the kingdom over to His father at which time God's eternal kingdom will begin. 2) A-millenialism: teaches that there will be no earthly kingdom and no 1000 year reign of Christ. Christ will take all believer out , condemn all non-believers and eternity will begin at that time. 3) Post-millenialism: teaches that there will be 1000 year kingdom but that Christ will claim his kingdom after the 1000 years have expired. Whether you believe that people will have a second chance depends on which viewpoint you base your answer. We will not know the truth until the "Ahhh-Sooo Day", Ahh-Soo thats what He meant! **** some material obtained from Hal Lindsey. |

314 | SECOND CHANCE | Rev 7:1 | prayon | 1375
Yes, the Lord is merciful and people will have a second chance to be saved during the tribulation. 1Thes 4:16-17 says that the dead in Christ will rise first and then we that remain shall be caught up together with them to meet Christ in the air. So here it says that all believers will be gone. Yet in Revelation 13:7 it says that the beast will be allowed to make war on the saints. This has to refer to the saints who are on earth. Verse 17 talks of those who do not receive the mark of the beast will not be able to buy or see. Those who do not receive the mark are the "tribulation saints" Rev 19:9 states "Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast. Those who were raised in the rapture are the Bride of Christ so we can't be the guests - it must be the tribulation saints. There will be no second chance AFTER death which is what 2Thes 2:10-13 is referring to. There is always a chance to be saved before physical death. Those who wait until after the rapture, if death does not claim them first, will have a chance at salvation but will have to endure the terrors of the tribulation talked about throughout the book of Revelations. |
