281 | need references to "it's already done" | Matt 18:18 | srbaegon | 168720
Hello Mark, I think that you have to be careful beyond church discipline. The teaching is that the church has authority regardless of its size. Notice the Lord does not say that a splinter group has the authority, but the entire local church is in mind. This is not all the teaching on church discipline. We need to add 1 Cor 5 and 1 Tim 5:19-20. The whole of the teaching is applicable. I do see v. 18 as applying today. Steve |

284 | Believing in the Bible and E.T.'s | Eph 2:2 | srbaegon | 164444
Hello FOE, You argue that if something CAN happen that it HAS happened. It makes for interesting mental gymnastics, but you shouldn't disrespect the people on this forum for disagreeing. May I point you to two books that say you are incorrect and that we are alone in the universe: 1. Privileged Planet by Gonzalez and Richards 2. Rare Earth by Ward and Brownlee Steve |

285 | "nun" verse at Psalm 145:13 not in NASB | Bible general Archive 3 | srbaegon | 164404
Hi Tim, Thanks for this. ESV includes the verse in brackets, because they aren't sure whether or not to insert it. In context it likes like a title for the section that follows. Steve |

286 | did Jesus die for our sins or sickness | 1 Pet 2:24 | srbaegon | 164195
Hello atdcross, One of the cardinal rules of Biblical interpretation (or hermeneutics) is context. One must determine the meaning of Scripture within its immediate context, and then use it to build on other Scripture. Your use of John 11:3-4 is invalid, because you reverse this process. Steve |

287 | what fruit did eve eat? | Genesis | srbaegon | 161667
Hello Gods Ambassage, No, it was not helpful. Your response was based on allegory rather than an historical-grammatical interpretation of the passage. Within the context of the passage, Eve plucked fruit from an actual tree and ate it. Steve |

288 | what fruit did eve eat? | Genesis | srbaegon | 161665
What do you mean by "scripter?" Steve |

289 | what fruit did eve eat? | Genesis | srbaegon | 161663
Hello Gods Ambassage, Mr. Bullinger's name is not mentioned on your site, and the information you give is misleading. It causes one to believe that the work is original and only influenced by others. However, you give terms and ideas that are simply restatements of Bullinger. These need to be properly referenced. That is simply proper writing. Steve |

290 | what fruit did eve eat? | Genesis | srbaegon | 161660
Hello God's Ambassage, I went to your website. Basically, you have plagiarized the work of E.W. Bullinger. If you wish to be taken seriously, you need to reference your material and/or add thoughts of your own. Steve |

291 | Did God create Life? | Gen 1:1 | srbaegon | 161303
Hello abccan, Again you are wrong. New life is being created from the source of life. What was created is of a different nature than that of the Creator. What was created had not always existed--it was created new. Steve |

294 | Did God create Life? | Gen 1:1 | srbaegon | 161295
Hello abccan, You misunderstand what is being taught in Genesis. There we have a description of the physical universe. The terms used pertain to the physical. Whilie life always existed in God, life did not exist in the physical realm before he created it. Steve |

295 | Twisted Scripture, what do we do? | John 17:3 | srbaegon | 161264
Hello justme, I've been using ESV since it came out in 2001. The translators befuddle me in some places, but I still use it as my primary translation. Steve |

296 | Did God create Life? | Gen 1:1 | srbaegon | 161225
Hello abccan, John 1:4 (ESV) In him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 14:6a (ESV) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life." These verses show that the Lord Jesus is both the source and essence of life. If we were to look further, we could show that Jesus is God, thus demonstrating that God is life. It is one of his essential attributes. God and life cannot exist without each other. Consequent to this, life cannot exist without a life form. Steve |

297 | heaven is perfect but we live on earth | Mark 10:21 | srbaegon | 160937
Hello pako, Can God kill or smite his children with sickness? Yes! 1 Cor. 11:27-30 (ESV) Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. [28] Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. [29] For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. [30] That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. Steve |

298 | Is our faith tested by trials? | Matt 11:12 | srbaegon | 160936
Hello pako, To be accurate, not only do you need to pray that you know God and the power od the resurrection, but also that you share in the sufferings of Christ (Phil 3:10). The apostle Paul considered it a complete package. Steve |
