261 | Help with misled teen with gender issues | 1 Pet 5:7 | charis | 924
Dear SFriend, In Christ Jesus I write my advice. I have just read your question and the answers generated. Meaning no disrespect, I ask, have you consulted your pastor? From what I read in the Bible, God has provided you with a shepherd whose purpose is to help those in need. He has the spiritual authority to help you in this battle. I am not talking about professional training or licenses on the wall. You made no mention of your church or your pastor, but these have been His method of strengthening His people from the beginning. If your church cannot help you, I must wonder why not? A pastor is required to be there for you. I respect my colleague's suggestions for general help, but it seems you really need someone with a personal commitment to your family to find wisdom and healing in the Lord. My prayers in Christ Jesus.

264 | Is everything God created "good?" | 1 John 1:5 | charis | 891
Yes! 1John 1:5 NASB "And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all." God did indeed create Lucifer, the most beautiful of the angels. However, God did not create the sin of vanity, jealousy and greed that caused him to be cast out of heaven. As far as I can see, the Bible does not point to any earlier 'start' or 'cause' of sin and evil, and pins the blame completely on Lucifer (Satan). Entertaining thoughts in this line (i.e. maybe God is the culprit) can do no good, only harm. Psalm 62:8 "Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah." In Christ Jesus, Amen! |

265 | Is everything God created "good?" | 1 John 1:5 | charis | 892
Whoops! The sharp-eyed among you may have noticed that I answered the short question correctly, but the full question was exactly the opposite! So sorry. God did NOT create sin!
266 | Enoch's prophesy in OT? | Jude 1:14 | charis | 1260
Dear bcbloyd, 'The Book of Enoch' is not included in "The New English Bible, with the Apocrypha" and though I do not own a "Catholic Bible, with Apocrypha" I do not think it is there, either. Look at Amazon.com, there were a few good reviews that might help you. One reviewer says that Jude is using a bit of sarcasm there. Blessings in Christ Jesus.
267 | WHY DOSE IT HAVE TO BE MOSSES AND ELIJAH | Revelation | charis | 1138
Dear Dan, Please onlock the Caps key. All capitals is hard to read! My question: Have you been reading, by any chance, the 'Left Behind' series? Blessings in Jesus' name!
268 | Only 144,000 virgins in heaven? | Revelation | charis | 1252
Dear HeirofGod, What did you mean about 'virgins?' As far as I know, some sects of the Mormons also use this number, as well as the Unification Church (the Moonies). It seems that almost all cults that 'use' the Bible for their own purposes point to this number in order to attempt to 'legitimatize' their religion. In other words, theirs is the 'true' faith, and the rest of Christians are deceived or 'faith-challenged.' I find it interesting to note that some of these cults have more than 144k members (even discounting their 'inflation' of the numbers), which causes me to wonder how they account for this to their own people. Are they trampling one another for a 'reservation?' ;-) It seems to me that even Bible-believing Christians can interpret this number to be a 'saved-unsaved' or 'saved-more saved' competition. I do not know exactly what this number depicts, but I do know that is dangerous to focus too much attention on it. In Jesus. |

269 | how do I read the full answers? | Revelation | charis | 7431
Dear KOBUS, Greetings and welcome to the Forum! There are several ways to browse this forum interface. First, if you scroll down to the bottom of a page, you will see a 'tree' representation of the 'thread' or topic. The tree is a bit hard to grasp at first, but if you follow the lines you will see how the connect. Also, pay attention to the date-time stamp on the right. If you click on the blue 'opening phrase' of the note, question or answer, it will be displayed in it's entirety. Click on the name of the poster (screen name), and you will (someimes) find out more about him-her. The other major tool is the 'Search' button at the top left. Click on this and you can easily find postings by date, Bible reference, screen name, or a specific word or words. Blessings upon you, and praying that this forum is a help to your walk in Christ. If you have any other questions, just post anywhere, and someone will find it and help. In Jesus' name, charis |

270 | What's going on? | Revelation | charis | 18577
Dear eschaton, Greetings and love to you in Jesus' name! I am not a scholar, but a student of the Word. I am now a lay-minister in Japan, but have had a 'colorful' past like yourself. If the Lord Jesus can apprehend one such as me, I am sure that He has you in mind, too! What is going on? Life as usual in a perverse generation. Is there any specific relationship with the Revelation of Jesus Christ to John? No, probably not one we will know until it is history. The reason is that we are unable, even forbidden to know the exact day of His glorious return. So many eschatological arguments and meaningless words of absolute conviction. For those in Christ Jesus, we are His. Frankly, my friend, I wonder how much 'conversion' you need! It seems that you have more faith in Jesus Christ than many 'religious' people I know. I pray that you will put away all the 'noise and trash' that confuse you, and focus yourself on that which you (already seem to) know to be truth. Eschaton, return to Jesus, and put away your 'mind temptations.' I say this as one who has 'been there, and done that.' :-) The forum works fine for me, but you can contact me through the address in my personal profile. Blessings and peace in Christ Jesus, charis |

271 | REV.2AND 3 URGENT RESPONSE PLEASE | Revelation | charis | 39632
Dear Denise, Greetings in the name of Jesus! If I may comment: What makes you so certain that the Spirit is leading you to build a bigger church? Is it not just as effective (more effective?) to plant several small (independent, local) churches in your neighborhood? Do you find anywhere in the Bible that speaks of building large churches, or hints that large congregations are God's will? It seems to me that it takes a great deal more faith to send men out than to gather everyone's money and build a citadel. Please, which is the example in the Bible? In Christ Jesus, charis |

272 | and a jezebel spirit..? | Rev 2:20 | charis | 16535
Dear Cate, Greetings in Jesus' name! According to the New Ungers Bible Dictionary: Jezebel was a woman in whom were united the sternest and fiercest qualities inherent in the Phoenician people. The wild license of her life and the magical fascination of her arts and of her character were known throughout the nation (2 Kings 9:22). Long afterward her name lived as the byword for all that was detestable. In Revelation 2:20 she is used as a type of those who encourage immorality and false teaching, in the same way that she engulfed Israel in idolatry. In Christ Jesus, charis |

273 | Pure joy in Heaven? | Rev 7:9 | charis | 2189
Dear prayon, Another great question! I may have an outlook different from many in the US, because in Japan, the chances are that over 99 percent of your loved ones are not in heaven. In addition, there is the 'social responsibility' of ancestor worship. (I say social responsibility because few understand or believe the religious aspect) I battle with this one almost every day, and the answer has to be that God is just, and we will rejoice in His perfection. He will 'wipe away each tear' and turn our 'mourning into dancing.' The present 'emotional' aspect of our relationship with family will be superceded by the spiritual knowledge that God is righteous. Please understand I mean no disrespect toward your feelings. I only say that our Lord and Savior will heal every wound. In the parable of Lazarus and the rich man, we see that the rich man desired to tell his earthly family of their peril. I don't know if there is any 'comfort' in Hell, but it does seem that the rich man would be pleased to know that the rest of his family found the Lord. It seems that those who did not respond to (or were chosen by) the Lord, accept the righteousness of God, so we should, too. Dear sister in the Lord, bless you in Jesus' name, charis |

274 | Have you ever looked at Urantia Book? | Rev 19:4 | charis | 794
Been there, done that! This is the exact challenge that a Mormon, a Jehovah's Witness, a Moonie or a Kokufu-no-Kagaku (Ogawa Ryuho's Science of Happiness)accolyte would use. I find it similar to someone who says, "You haven't really lived until you've played Russian Roulette. Sure, there is (one) drawback" I find that I have more than enough truth in the Bible, and after studying broadly various claims to 'enhanced' revelation, they are all spurious by nature. Any time I hear 'revelation of Revelation,' alarm signals go off in my spirit. Next thing said is that those who do not have this 'special' knowledge are inferior, and spiritually-challenged. It's a Devil's disguise-an angel of enlightenment. God has already sent His Spirit to guide and comfort His church. What more could we need than the Spirit of Christ? If you can come up with a short, compelling explanation of this cult, do it. Otherwise, thanks, but no thanks. May the Spirit of Jesus Christ give you peace.
275 | Need more on THE HOUR and the ALL who he | Rev 20:5 | charis | 7362
Dear Isabel, If I may ask, what is the purpose of knowing the answer to this question? Please, I mean no harm. I understand that all believers should desire to know more about God, His plan, and how to live in Him. When I was a new believer, I was stricken with a curiosity about the end times. I am not that 'old' now, but I can no longer see that point in striving for that which is hidden, and will remain hidden until the return of the Lord. Please remind me. If possible, tell me where in the Word we are encouraged to seek after such answers. Again, please do not be upset with me. I see a lot of focus on these things, yet no one has explained from the Bible why they spend so much time on them. In Christ Jesus, charis |

276 | Why did God send phophets | Rev 20:5 | charis | 46314
Dear hillbilly, Greetings in the name of Jesus! Friend, I think you will find that the God spent a lot more time explaining how to live here and now than He did about signs pointing to future events. If you have settled all the here and now issues, and are living in accord with His instructions for you where He has placed you, then perhaps you have the spare time to ponder the end times. I, for one, have found that the entire Bible was written expressly for the purpose of edifying my present life in Christ, and that most conjecture about end time prophecy is just that: vain conjecture. Why did God write about past and future events? So we can learn to live in Him NOW! If your study of seals and horsemen actually (honestly!) enhances your walk with Jesus, then bless you! If, however, you are not a living testimony of the Gospel, then do that first! Also, please remember that NOBODY knows the times or dates, that is God's sovereign knowledge. In Christ Jesus, charis |

277 | Is no action as bad as evil action? | Rev 21:8 | charis | 67763
Dear TBays, Greetings in the name of Jesus! Perhaps you are looking for Revelation 21:8. John speaks of the 'cowardly and unbelieving,' and the word for cowardly is 'deilos,' which means 'timid.' I could not find anything else close to this associated with the 'lake of fire.' May the Lord give understanding of His word for His purposes! In Christ Jesus, charis |
