When I hear some preachers erupting in a salvo of Bible passages, one after another in rapid-fire order, I frankly become envious and say to my wife, "Gee, I wish I could do that." She always comes back with an answer I'd prefer not to hear, "If you studied as heard as they do, perhaps you could." Do you feel the grinding effort to memorize Bible passages is well worth the effort? Are there passages in the Bible that set a precedent for memorizing Scripture? What are some of the benefits of Bible memorization? How do you personally go about it?
