221 | The Salvation of women? | 1 Tim 2:15 | justme | 208746
Matt1078: Would you please restate the question. I might be wrong, but are you asking if a woman can be saved? I can refer you to Jonh 3:16 and there it clearly says that "who ever" and that includes both genders. Sorry I am not much help, but your question is rather unclear from my view point. Blessings. justme |

223 | Scriptural grounds for divorce | 1 Cor 7:15 | justme | 208527
Tim 3:16: Matthew 5:27-32. Jesus said marital unfaithfulness. Looking at a woman with lust is adultery of the mind. Heart, mind, eyes and body all are involved in adultery. Every sin begins with our mind or heart. Hardness of heart is always at the core of every divorce. If we spend as much time and thought into how to resolve our marriages as some do in how to escape a marriage there might be fewer marriages. If pastors refused to remarry those divorced until they are totally convienced there is absolutely Biblical grounds this too would be of significant value in saving more marriages. I personally think no one should be remarried for at least a year. Today persons con be divorced and remarried in less than a week in some stated. A book I would suggest for couples considering marriage is LIVING TOGETHER, MYTHS, RISKS AND ANSWERS by Mike and Harriet McManus publisher by Howard Books 2008. In this book the evidence proves that 65 percent of Christians are living together before marraige. And that most marriages when the couple was sexually involved or living together has the odds against a marriage making it work. Today, many churches have divorce recovery groups. Very few churches have trained Christian counselors who work with marriages in trouble. I personally an very deeply concerned for marriages that are hanging by a thin thread. When a divorced person remarries without working on the problems they have and what helped the past marriage fail, they are going to carry the same problems into the new marraige. Some clergy persons do not even do any pre marraige counseling. Is it any wonder that so many Christians fail when Christians don't consider their marraige a Covenant they made with our Holy God. The Lord will hold us accountable for our Covenant braking. Divorce is a sin. Christ does forgive our sins, and there is consequences we reap for what we have sown. I hope this is more food for thought. justme |

mitchhunt: Welcome to theStudy Bible Forum! This took great courage to ask this question, thank you for allowing some imput into such a serious question. I am going to assume this question is directly from you, and this is a question from you about yourself. If it is not about you, than you can use it to help someone else. This question has been asked or at leased thought about by most all of us at sometime or other in our lives. There is no need to feel embarrassed or ashamed for anyone to feel like ending your life. There is but a small window of time that has been found, until this desire will past. Please, if you are still considering ending your life, you can call 911 and ask for help right now. If you have a pastor, or a loved one call them and share your feelings. Cody mac has given you good Bible verses to look at. Here are a few more Psalm 55:22 tells is to cast our cares on the Lord, as He cares very much about you! Psalm 139 the complete chapter tells how wonderfully God has made us and how He has plans for our life. Romans 8:26-36 are verses that prove that God has promised that nothing we do can remove Gods Love from us. Perhaps you may never have asked Jesus Christ to save you from your sins? To end your life without Jesus Christ would mean a more painful condition than what you could possibly be in now. Here is what is called the Romans Road that right from any Bible you can be Saved. Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9, 10:13. after reading these verses, and asking God to forgive your sins, and asking God to become Lord of your life, you need to find a church to share this with. I am a Souther Baptist, and I know there you will find a Bible believing church. There are others, but I am mainly knowledgable of Southern Baptist Churches and their beliefs. I will be praying for you Mitch, please let us know how you are doing or the person you are trying to help. justme |

227 | why christains can't have house cats. | NT general | justme | 204824
searcher7: There is no such Scripture forbidding us from having cats as pets. We have five cats, and they all have a personality that is anything but ungodly. I think cats have a way of bringing out the best in those they allow to live with them. Cats seem to have a understanding when their owners are down, or sick, and they stay near to us. We love our five cats, and our three dogs which all get along, something we Christians sometimes have a problem doing. justme |

Sheldee: As others have said, welcome. There is nothing that she could say that is not already said in Scripture, she could easily give a Scripture reference, and expand her thoughts on how the Scripture applies to your church. Unless your church is a Word of Faith Church or as it is called sometimes Full Gospel Church, this situation has an uneasy feeling and sound to it. justme |

Gmroberson: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! This question is not something that this forum can answer as it is not a Bible question as shuch. That said, God can use anything He wants to get our attention. I think by what you say it got your attention. How is your relationship with Jesus Christ? Have you ask Christ to be your Lord and Saviour? If you are a Christian are you close to the Lord? Maybe that's what al all this was about, so someone might remind you that God love you! As a humor it could be your daughter needs glasses, or maybe you had a white speck on your glasses. Blessings to you. Ask some more Bible related questions and become active on the forum. justme |

231 | Why do we have so many denominations of | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 201317
Learning1228: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! Where ever you find something in Scripture that can have a different understanding then there is most likely some group of persons that take off in a differtent direction and make their understanding a reason to have a denomination. That's a overly simple statement, but it sorta gets the idea before you. There are denominations that believe in footwashing at the time of the of sharing the Bread and Cup. There are those who Baptize by sprinkling and others believe the person must be taken below the water. Some do not have any musical instruments, others have a full band. These are all areas that make us different, and often are fought over and causes great differences aand disfellowship, which is a sad situation. There are some denominations that work together and celebrate the things they hold in common, and work for helping with thoes in need offood, clothing, shelter, jobs, and just about any need you can think of. That's as it should be in reality, Christ at work within us. justme |

232 | Did satan know the out come of Jesus' de | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 201316
JCSaves: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! Your question is a little hard to answer as the question can be taken several ways. IF you mean does satan know the results of Jesus being risen form the Grave and our sins ore washed in His Blood and Salvation ia now for those who will come to Him. Then yes. IF you mean can satan read the mind of Christ or us today, no satan can not read anyones mind. IF you mean did satan know why Christ came to earth, then Yes. Satan was once an angel, and knew Christ from the begining. Remember satan tempted Jesus and offered Him many temptations, and Jesus did not yield to any. I hope this helps answer your question. Enjoy the Forum. justme |

233 | Final Days help... | Matthew | justme | 201176
fatherbrown: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! May I suggest that Matthew 24 has the words of Jesus on the end of time and His return. Notice the word "YET", and how often Jesus uses yet. I personally read Revelation with my Bible turned to Matthew 24 and try to see how the two books fit together. As I understand Jesus, He is saying to be ready! By being ready then whatever happens my spiritual life is consistant. I live as Jesus might return at any time, but plan and work like He may not come for many years to come. We can not say for certian when Jesus will return, even Jesus said only the Father knows when. I find those who attempt to predict the return of Christ acting against what Christ said. There are many good books that deal with end of time theories, and yes, there are many who even fight with anger over who is right. It seems to me there are better efforts made in sharing Jesus in our normal traffic pattern of life. A good resource is a NIV Study Bible or Life Aplication Study Bible. Both are offered in NIV or NASB. Either or both Bibles are a worthy investment in your spiritual growth. Perhaps your Chruch has a Library and there may be a wealth of growth waiting for you there. Blessings. justme |

msalyne: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. The note your responded to was one from last January, so it might be a good ide to look at the date. This is a rather common mistake, some have asked or answered something from several years ago. There is no verse like this in Scripture. Often people think that "God helps them who help them selves" is in Scripture as well. But not only is this socalled verse not in Scripture is is not even a Biblical accurate statement. I hope you find the forum a good place to grow and find other Christians who are here ti help as well. justme |

235 | ungodly relationship | Titus 2:12 | justme | 200724
The odds of making this a marriage that will last are very slim. Scripture tells you not to be unequally joined with a nonbeliever. Yet for all practical points you have joined this person in a future relationship because of the child. In my understanding of Scripture you have sinned, and now the real results of your actions need to have some serious direction. You are in a hard place. If you were my daughter I would say you should not marry this man unles he turns his life over to Christ. I would encourage you to see if he has really become a Christian for a period of at least 6 months. I am sure this must be a hurt for you and your parents, you need to see if your parents are willing to help you. Go to your pastor and seek his help and guidence. What you do now will effect the rest of your life. Seek God in prayer. justme |

236 | how do i convince my wife to follow me | Eph 5:25 | justme | 198616
Valspapa: Brother in Jesus Christ, you have not offended anyone on the forum. Reading your post about offending, I feel you are a stsrving new born in Christ. Am I right? You need to get your wife on board with you. Point out the scriptual errors you believe to be evident at the church and Pastor. She needs to see that your growth is very important to both of you. I in no way wanted to meke you feel anything but welcome here at the SBF. Let us know how this works, and maybe as we pray together we can help. Blessings. justme |

237 | how do i convince my wife to follow me | Eph 5:25 | justme | 198586
valspapa: Your husband leadership style sounds like you are pulling your wife, expecting her to follow. Often men feel because they are the spiritual head of the family what they say is law. That's not what Christ says or excepts. May I suggest you reas Ephesians 5:25 to 33. A better way might be to pray together and ask for the Lord to speak to both of you on this matter. Wait until you both agree on what the Lord is leading you to do. By praying and letting God speak to your wife as well, shows her that you value her as your help mate and lover her enough for her to catch up with your thinking. Wise is the man that takes the time for the rest of the family to catch the vision the Lord has given him. Don't hinder your prayers by not taking your wife as a equal believer whom God speaks too as well. Blessings. justme |

238 | Why dimentia if filled with Holy Spirit | John 1:1 | justme | 198584
ekela:You are dealing with the Theology that many Christians don't like to think about, good for you! The list of diseases you mention, plus so many more are things we suffer as sinful humans. I too have had to directly search the Scriptures for answers as to why we as Christians suffer such illnesses. Having had cancer, blood clots in my lungs, and at least two other deadly diseases, I have indeed studied the question at length. Open you Bible to the 8th chapter of Romans and read it all. From verse26 to the end of the chapter has become a huge encouragement for me. In verse 29 we Christians are being conformed to the image of Christ. Did not Christ suffer beyond our deepest understanding? If we are ever to become mature in Christ we must see the purpose of suffering, which is to become conformed to and become like Christ. Suffering is not pleasent and unless we have a rason for suffering Christians can become spiritually bankrupt, and bitter at God. This lesson is not something that comes natural, and can take a long time to learn, while suffering. No where in Scripture does it say Christians will not suffer, or become rich if we just have the faith, or that Christians are kept from diseases, heart ache, or mental illness. I hope that Romans * will help you find the meaning of suffering, blessings. justme |

239 | CAN I BE BORN AGAINE AND STILL SMOKE | John 3:16 | justme | 198343
Veehound: When we come to Jesus Christ He takes us just as we are. If we had to get ourselves just right before coming to Jesus then it would be works on our part. I encourage you to ask Jesus to take control of you life. As a born again Christian the Holy Spirit resides within you. What ever that Christ leads you into or the Holy Spirit convicts you of, Christ always gives us the courage to endure. There are some Christians that do smoke. I am convicted that smoking will shorten my life and have not smoked a pipe for over 30 years. I still love the smell of a pipe, but nothing can change my mind. As for other sins in our life let the Holy Spirit convict you and ask for the help of Christ to give you the freedom from that sin. I hope this helps you, now grow in the Lord, blessings. justme |

240 | maipulation... | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 197137
ssongassu:Romans 14:22 says I am to be careful in what I show approval, as I am to refelect Christ in what I do and say. In Eccl. 3:8, Ps.76:3 Matt. 25:6, all mention war and are well worth reading. I am not an idealist nor do I believe in a uptopia. This world is not my home, I am a soujourner, pilgrim, an alien, I am not of this world. However, I live in this world as an ambassador for Christ for recounciliation to those in need of salvation, who will acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. In matt. 24 Jesus told us to expect very difficult times, and a host of evil things, such as war. I expect to see much suffering for the world and Christians as well. I believe Christians are expected to persevere in suffering, and whatever happens to us. Romans 8:28,29, say we become more like Christ in suffering and hard times. I say this in kindness, you sound like a young person who has a deep sence of the evil and wrong things in this world. You seem sensitive, and tender hearted, I appreciate that. However, from the time Cain murdered Able, there has been a history of such evil. War is always good over evil, or even evil overpowering good. There is no simple answer to the answer you seek. I hope I have expressed myself in a different way for you to see what I think. As for our present circumstance in Iraq, this Study Bible Forum is not the place to dialogue about this political situation. I encourage you to ask questions related to Scripture. I think you will enjoy the forum much more ang get more dialogue if you deal with questions related to the Bible. Blessings. justme |
