221 | helping a friend | John 16:8 | CDBJ | 206652
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Just because your friend doesn’t chose to jump through some preachers psychological hoop doesn’t mean he isn’t saved. Check out why the gospel of john was written: John 20:30-31 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. What does your friend think about the person of Jesus? Who is He and what did He do for your friend? Peter in all likely hood didn’t know he was saved until Jesus told him he was blessed; and why he was he blessed? Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?" Matthew 16:16-17 Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." 17Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. Since Jesus died on the cross and paid the price for man’s sin sin isn’t the issue now the issue is what does your friend think about the person of Jesus God’s Son? The only sin that will condemn a person now is rejecting God’s Son! John 16:7-9 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 9OF SIN BECAUSE THEY DO NOT BELIEVE IN ME; To believe in Jesus comes from the Koine Greek word PISTEUON, and it means to have a complete total undivided trust in the person of Jesus, the appointed one of God, and what He did on the cross for us. Couple that with the following and the picture becomes even clearer. 1 John 5:10-13 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. There are scads of people that think they are saved just because they went forward in some service and prayed a certain prayer, that they were ask to pray, but if they aren’t fully trusting in God’s Son Jesus they are just as lost as they were before they went forward! Have your friend read the book of John but tell him to first ask God to reveal the truth that is within it’s pages about Jesus. If he really wants to know the truth God will show him truth. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

Greetings, Your sins aren’t the issue in God’s eyes His precious Son paid the price that God demanded. The issue now is what will one do with the person of Jesus the Christ. The sin that can condemn someone to an everlasting place of torment now is the rejection of, or lack of faith, in what God has done for mankind on the cross. Jesus speaks about the Holy Spirit and his ministry. John 16:8-9 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9Of sin, because they believe not on me; The future of one’s eternal state is known right now while they are still on this side of eternity. 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. This is further backed up by the following. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. If someone doesn’t know for sure that they have eternal life it’s because they aren’t fully trusting in what Jesus did for them on the cross. When a person has saving faith in Christ the Holy Spirit reveals this truth to them as they study God’s Word, the Bible. 1 John 5:13 NLT I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. 229 | God love the senner but hate the sin | NT general | CDBJ | 202696
Greetings and welcome to the forum. I know this may seem a little harsh but one of those two must be wrong; either your son is being deceived or God is mistaken, so which one do you think is wrong? It’s rather obvious if one believes what God says in the Bible. 1 John 2:16-17 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 230 | How do I forgive adultry if it continues | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 202105
Greetings TJS and welcome to the forum. That sounds like a very involved situation to say the least. Cutting to the chase, as it were, but in order to better direct the proper answer to you, it would help if you could explain something that only you have the answer to. Where do you personally stand right now at this point in time with regards to your eternal future? Putting it another way; if you were to die today do you “know positively” without a shadow of doubt that you would be ushered into the presents of the Lord to spend eternity? Let’s say, just as an example; if you were to stand before God in the next few minutes and the Lord were to say to you, why should I let you come into my kingdom, what do you think you would tell Him? This is usually a way to see just how you personally understand repentance for a starting place. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

232 | who are the144000 | NT general | CDBJ | 201778
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The following is a excerpt from the free web site, www.revelationcommentary.org Chapter 7 One hundred and forty-four thousand this number has received great consideration. Speculations abound. It is sad that commentators do not take this number literally. To denominate the number by 12, 000 adds to the literal nature of this figure. We are not told why 12, 000 are chosen, but that twelve thousand are chosen is clear. There is no textual basis to support those who claim that the 144, 000 are any entity other than physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To spiritualize the 144, 000 into a Christian group violates the plain sense of the text. John gives the reader every detail necessary to correctly identify this group. The critical phrase "from every tribe of the sons of Israel" should settle any debate about their identity. This phrase always refers to physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Out of six hundred and thirty-five occurrences of this phrase throughout the Scriptures, Revelation 7:4 would be the only exception. There is no compelling reason to spiritualize away the literal sense. Every tribe of the sons of Israel has solid biblical support as a referent of Jews only. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

233 | How has Judaism influenced Christianity? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 201470
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Judaism has affected and influenced “this Christian” very, very much; I’ve got their Messiah and the majority of Judaism doesn’t even know it! John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. Matthew 23:37-39 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. 237 | fate of Barabbas | NT general | CDBJ | 200903
Hi Nightman, Here is an interesting bit of information. My Name isn’t Barabbas, but Jesus actually took my place and hung between heaven and earth and took the wrath of God the Father so that I could spend eternal life with God. God did a fantastic thing for me the day Jesus died on that cross; I deserve to be separated from God for ever! Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. God can’t die, so God came up with the plan that the Word of God would personally become a human being so that God, being the perfect man “without sin” could pay the ultimate price for my sin. Acts 20:28 (B) to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. A man can’t become God but God took on human flesh and paid the debt that I owe for my sins. God tells us that if we will trust in the work that He did in the person of Jesus, the appointed one, that God will give us everlasting life with Himself as a gift that He bought. But we "must" put “all” of our faith and confident expectation in the person of Jesus Christ. Philip. 2:5-8 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Have a great day and I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

238 | any verses show ethical business profit? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 200762
I believe if you would come up with a Bible based question there would be many who would be willing to answer your questions along those lines. I’ll start with an example; Have you come to the point yet in your spiritual understanding that you know “for sure”, that after this life, you will have an everlasting life in God’s presence? John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." 26For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes. CDBJ |
